We just finished a full remodel of this unique older home located just 2 blocks from the historic Carthage Jail! Carthage is just a short and peaceful 27 minute drive to the Nauvoo Temple. There are local restaurants, fast food and a grocery store to meet the needs of your family. We offer a well-stocked kitchen, large dining area, fast wifi, and two smart TVs in common areas to meet different entertainment needs. As a new Airbnb, we're excited to make this a home away from home for you!

We had a short, but very comfortable stay in Carthage. Everything we needed was available. There is a lot of space in this home with all the conveniences and nearby shopping you need for a long stay. Highly recommended!

We will definitely stay here again! The communication with Eric was great. We came to Carthage to tour the Nauvoo Historic Sites and Carthage Jail for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The house is one block from Carthage Jail. It was very clean with all the amenities. I have nothing negative to say!!

It was a great home for us to use while we were visiting Nauvoo. We enjoyed our time there. Plenty of room for all 8 of us.

The house was so clean and organized. The space fit our family of 6, and my mom very well. Everyone had they're own bed and space to go relax at the end of the day. Beds were comfortable and well made. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and cookware. The location was great. Right by local coffee shops and stores for the random miss packed items. We loved Carthage jail and it was only a half hour drive to nauvoo. The host, Eric, was fantastic to work with. He provided a tip sheet with the local faves including things to do, places to eat, best coffee shops, and medical recommendations. We referred to it more than once! He communicated well prior to our stay and throughout, if we had questions. We loved the interactive map right inside the door and The welcoming hot chocolate and popcorn. The kids didn't waste anytime tasting it. Our family will 1000% be coming back next time we visit the area.

Great location and very clean house. Even the kids enjoyed the house. Eric was very responsive and super helpful as well. This is definitely a place we'd come back to if we come back to the Carthage area again.

In town for family Easter celebration

Second time staying here to visit family in nearby LaHarpe. Great place to fit our family of 8 adults and 2 babies . Close to groceries/gas/ fast food. We will definitely be back for the next family get together

Nice Spot in Carthage IL

Very nice, large property in Carthage IL. Clean and well kept, well appointed. Plenty of bed space, nice big kitchen. Convenient to everything in town.

Great house

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was very clean, well stocked, and very nicely redone inside. The owner was very quick to respond to my messages and always very polite. I would definitely rebook!!

Very flexible and accommodating!

The owner helped us by being flexible and accommodating. We got a day of reservation and there was a problem with the booking. He was quick to respond and fixed the issue right away. We were in town saying goodbye to a family member and the services got moved around several times. With a 2 and a 4 year old needing a nap and a place to hang, we were able to extend our check out for a small fee. Will stay again this summer!

Family Reunion

We were in Carthage for a family reunion and needed a place to stay. We have had great success with VRBO in the past, but this stay was one of if not the best experience we have had. Eric communicated with us very well from before the booking to the actual stay and took care of all of our requests in a timely manner. The home was very clean, well-stocked with essentials as well as "extras" and located convenient to everything in Carthage. When we checked out, Eric noticed we had left something behind and was very attentive to get it to us so I can also vouch for his honesty as well! I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone that needs a home away from home in Carthage!

Cousin reunion

We were a little skeptical by the exterior, but the interior was very clean and updated. The floor plan was as seen in the pictures. We spent all our time in the house and would have preferred a more open floor plan. I brought additional camping rocker chairs as seating in the LR was limited. This corresponded with our schedule. We also needed a main floor bedroom and bathroom and this had 2 main floor bedrooms. The sleeping arrangements were great for 5 adults. We were very pleased with the house.

HAPPY MISTAKE!

Pro: The place may not look great on the outside, but the inside was all updated. The bathrooms were really nice with large showers! The mistake I made... I thought it was in Nauvoo. But the drive from Carthage isn't that bad...about 20 minutes. Nice surprise ...Soap, shampoo and conditioner were provided. Would I stay there again....YES! Only wish check-in was around 3, not 5. Con: The lock didn't work when we got there, but Eric had a back up plan, so we got in just fine. BIGGEST CON... I hate VRBO. Took me about an hour to get into my account to contact Eric, because of the way the login works. A Great Place to Stay!
