Nice & Homey!

We enjoyed our time here......very quaint, historical, & colorful! Loved the neighborhood colors, too! Owner provided great customer service.......very quick to respond to any questions while we were deciding on a place to stay and after we decided to stay at her place. She sent us info on dining and attractions close by, too, which was much appreciated.

A part of Cincinnati I did not know

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, but I knew very little about the Columbia-Tusculum neighborhood. This historic house is located in the middle of this area, only about a mile from Mount Lookout Square. Hyde Oark is close as is downtown Cincinnati. One of cincinnati's great spots - Alms Park - is just a few minutes walk from the house. Enjoy the unique and colorful architecture of this fun area. We enjoyed the house with its interesting floor plan and comfortable settings, balconies (porches). Owner is very friendly and helpful. Parking behind the house is off the street. When we are in the area again, we would certainly stay in this property again.

Terrific location and charming home. Cya was great throughout our entire and very extended stay.

Highly recommend this rental. Owner very accommodating, conscientious, and responsive. Our stay was unconventional, lasting 9 months while in town for extended work assignment. Cya worked with us on a variety of non-typical VRBO issues making her home feel very comfortable like our home. If you want a great experience, contact Cya and rent her charming home.

Cozy and Convenient!

My family spent Christmas here, and had a wonderful time. The house is well-mantained and in a cool part of Cincinnati, with super colorful homes. The owner always kept in touch. Awesome find! We would definitely book this place again for future trips to Cincinnati.

Awesome house and great owner!!

We had an awesome experience with this rental and the owner Cynthia. The house is extremely cute and in great condition. Beds are amazingly comfortable. The owner went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. We went to Cincinnati to run the flying pig marathon and the owner had the fridge stacked with water:) She was very accommodating to our party which we really appreciated. The home is in a great location and we would recommend this rental to anyone going to Cincinnati. Thank you Cynthia

Perfect for a Family!

We had our family stay here while they were in town and it was ideal. We live in the neighborhood so we know that it a great place to stay - beautiful park up the hill, bars, restaurants and a Speedway mini mart down the hill in case you would need anything in a pinch. The house provided then with everything they needed and they were very happy with their stay. Its a great value and I would recommend this home to anyone coming to stay in the Cincinnati area.

Beautiful historic home in a great location!

We stayed here for about 9 months and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is a very pretty historic home in a great location. We enjoyed restaurants nearby like Terry's Turf Club, Bella Luna, and many others in the Mt. Lookout/Hyde Park area. We also enjoyed the short scenic drive to downtown to go to Reds and Bengals games. Additionally, we walked to Alms Park often, which is right up the street from the house. One thing we loved is the view from the master bedroom, as it looks over the river and is a great place to watch the sun set. The home was comfortable, spacious, and had everything that we needed. We got what we expected to get based on the online pictures and descriptions. The owner was very easy to work with and always responded to us quickly. We would recommend this to family and friends. It is a good place to stay whether short-term or long-term.

Gorgeous house, great space!

We had a fabulous weekend at this house. It's up on a hill with great views of the city, and is well equipped for cooking, lounging, and enjoying the city. HIGHLY recommended and great value, and Cynthia is a pleasure to work with!

Life Saver

This wonderful home and it's awesome owner were life savers to me. I am going through a divorce and found myself without a home on a Sunday evening about 8:00pm. I stayed in two downtown hotels for two nights and knew i needed a temporary home while i looked for a permanent place. After inquiring about this house the owner went out of her way to make this place available for me as long as she could and as quick as she could. She even cancelled her plans to come to Cincinnati so I would have a place to stay. She found a cleaning person that would come in last minute to make sure i didn't have to spend another night in hotel. The home was perfect, the king size bed, the deck off the master bedroom, the desk in the small bed room and all the closets made for a great stay. I used the kitchen many times as well as the laundry facilities. She had everything i needed. Everything was perfect! I love this area of town with all the painted ladies (blue and pink houses) up and down Tusculum and Sachem. I was able to hit Starbucks every morning on my way into downtown and was just a quick drive to Zips which i hit up at least three times during my two week stay. I wish i could have stayed longer to use the back patio, or sit on the front porch or seen a few more sunsets. Everything was so accessible and had the feel of home and made my transition so much happier. I highly recommend this home and trust me the owner is one of the nicest people i have ever rented from.

Accommodations that exceeded my expectations!

I an stunned to see a negative review on this lovely home. The listing's photos accurately reflected the rental's appearance and amenities. The carpet in real life, was just as white as the carpet in the pictures. Upon my arrival the home was clean, inside and out. It was stocked with every thing that I needed. I had a few questions during my stay, and Cynthia always responded right away. I couldn't figure out the local channels on TV, and I wanted to verify some of the info that she included in the detailed notes that she sends before your arrival. I had no problems, just questions because I wanted to be a good renter. The King Bed in the Master Bedroom was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.In fact all of the furnishings were comfortable. I loved the deck off the master bedroom. I sat there to have my coffee in the morning, then in the evening to enjoy the sunset. I even stretched out a couple of days and read out there, and caught a little bit of a tan. There is a porch on the main level of the house that is very nice, and also a patio in the back of the house, and both have seating, but truly the upstairs deck was my favorite. While I did not cook a bunch, the kitchen is well stocked with dishes and all of the appliances I can think of that I might have needed, if I had chose to eat in every day, but there are too many great restaurants nearby that I wanted to try. To have the washer and dryer available was a bonus, because I was able to pack a little bit less, and wash my clothes, and also take home mostly clean clothes so I didn't have to settle in to laundry right away when I got home.Laundry soap, and dish soap was supplied. I was surprised by the jetted tub in the full bathroom upstairs, I didn't recall reading that there was one, but it was sure nice to soak in there after hurting my back while stowing my bag on my flight from the west coast. Alms park was just up the hill, an easy walk and offers a beautiful view at both morning and night. Starbucks is down the hill, and a short walk, a little beyond there is the Precinct, a restaurant in an old police house, that serves the best steak I've ever eaten. The Columbia/Tusculum area is a great area to stay, as you're centrally located to many local attractions and parks. I also loved the Mount Adams area, and the Celestial Steak house, which has a beautiful view. The Blind Lemon was great too. I would definetly recommend and rent from Cynthia again, in this house or any other properties. A+++

A lawsuit waiting for the right person

This house is so full of hazards that we would advise against occupancy. Electrical wiring is not up to code. Don't fry an egg and do your laundry at the same time; forget the hair dyer. The stairs down to the basement have no handrails and the handrail from the front balcony to the street is unstable. We rented the home for a month due to its proximity to Childrens Hospital. Unfortunately, we were not informed that the carpeting throughout the house is white until it was too late to find another rental. The steps in back leading to the house from the parking area are an absolute leg breaker. No children should be allowed near them and no adults either. The owner charged for cleaning the carpets which we left cleaner than when we arrived. A $40 charge for a missing cushion?? We advise anyone to find another rental as we personally feel that this house is unsafe (fire hazard?) due to the many hazards concerning the entire property. We speak as current/former owners of rental property and accommodations (B&B) owners/operators.

As Advertised. Historic Home. Enjoyable Stay.

We had a great experience. The owner is prompt and accomodating. The location of the home is convienently located to access downtown, Interstates and major thoroughfares. The area is quaint and close to parks/exercise trails (Lunken airport). Quite pleased. We plan to visit again.

I manage properties in many locations. This house is near and dear to me though as I have lived in it for several years. I love it to much to give it up so I have decdied to share it with others as I spend most of my time in Florida

Why they chose this property

I have owned this house since 2004 but have lived in the area for 20 years. I love the central location of my house and the view from the master bedroom at night. I like being able to get my coffee right down the street. The off street parking is a big plus too!

What makes this property unique

The 3 patios, and the sun sets over the Ohio river. So close to downtown, Hyde Park, Children's Hospital and off street parking in an upscale neighborhood and near 2 parks.
