My family had an amazing stay during the first week of July. The Pacifica room was spotless. We loved the large windows and proximity to VNP. The host was extremely communicative and kind. Thank you!
Positives were the responsiveness of the host, cleanliness of the unit, and the location not far from the Park entrance. Drawbacks: low water pressure in shower, streaming didn’t work for TV, damp bathroom towels and bedsheets/bedspread would not dry even with drying rack, flooded driveway. We weren’t expecting luxury but still the apartment is due for some upgrades.
While this isn't the fanciest place on the island, it was a great value and a good experience. It was clean, if rustic and the host was very communicative. Do be aware that the frogs are LOUD but the hosts provide earplugs. Those, combined with the white noise machine we brought did the trick, and we got a good night's sleep. I may actually give this place just 4.5 stars if I could just for wishing they would add a foam topper to the bed but I do recommend this place to other travelers.
The room is beautiful, the kitchen is big, the couch is comfortable, the bed was a little too firm for my old body but otherwise was great. The host was super nice, and answered promptly to all my questions. NOTE: if you need supplies get them from Hilo or get them before 5pm 'cause everything is closed early!!!
We got in late, the lights in the parking area not working and such limited parking left, it was almost impossible to get our car in. The rest of the stay was fine. We Loved hearing the tree frogs and is close to the National Park.
Great location and the host is very communicative and does everything possible to ensure a comfortable stay. Location is excellent if you are looking to visit Volcano national park or the black beach. The kitchen is also very well stocked up with all the spices and amenities needed for a couple of nights of cooking! If anything, the only addition the place needs is a dishwasher and some basic TLC for exterior of the windows. Highly recommend if you are looking for a stay on the Hilo side.
The room was as advertised, in the rain forest. Biggest ferns I've ever seen! Huge room, great bed, large bathroom. Kitchen had everything we needed for a one-night stay. Had a lovely excellent dinner at the nearby Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant. So close to the entrance to Volcanos National Park. Missed Episode #43 (eruption) by 24 hours, but the road was reopened just before we arrived so it was all good.
The Volcano was very nice. Peace and quiet with the birds in the background. We had a wonderful visit. The only thing would be that the windows be cleaned there was a lot of spider webs. Other than that it was a great visit.
We loved our hideaway in the jungle. The sound of tree frogs was lovely. We were inside with the fire place during a rain storm. Communication with our hosts was top notch. It was a great location for getting to the Volcano park. Thank you.
This was a really neat stay! We stayed here one night so we could get an early start visiting Volcanoes National park. It felt like we were staying in a tree house! The property had everything we needed for a one night stay. It was plenty spacious enough for my wife and our toddler. The location is great if you are visiting VNP.
Had a lovely stay at The Pacifica over Memorial Day weekend. All of the amenities needed to make the stay comfortable. 5 minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Jennifer and her team were super communicative. Would stay there again if the opportunity arises.

The place is basic for sleeping after a long hiking day. I am surprised that the pillow cases are not even matching.
We loved the place, we were there for one night. For a longer stay I would have to address allergenic issues… but considering we were in a rainforest environment…it was expected.I brought what I needed. Very cozy feel, great shower! I recommend.
Cozy and rustic. Full of character and atmosphere. The rental is surrounded by windows with beautiful jungle views. The gardens are lush beyond belief and full of flowers! The host is very attentive, easy to reach, and accommodating. It had everything we need. When I posted pictures on social media, I received many comments on how amazing the place looked!
Beautiful up in the tree fern canopy. Gas 'fireplace' quickly made it cosy warm after a day out in the rain. Clean, all basic kitchen needs present(and one of the best knife sets in a rental ever made cooking prep a pleasure), Jennifer responded quickly. It is a damp area so we just made sure to open some windows during dry times.
The apartment is large and well furnished; it has a great Hawaiian jungle setting, with very large and Ventilated windows to overlook that jungle. The kitchen is superb. The gas fireplace works well and is great at night to just sit in front of. Nice, large bathroom with hot water shower (but please conserve). The king mattress is very comfortable. I only needed two things: a bath mat and a regular coffee or espresso maker (Keurig provided)
I can’t score this property as we did not stay there. We arrived the room was already occupied. They overbooked. The owner was very apologetic and found another accommodation immediately. She immediately refunded my deposit. Although it definitely wasn’t as nice it was not what I expected at the same level of accommodation. However the free breakfast and staff there was outstanding. I ended staying at the Volcano Inn.
Gorgeous land of huge houseplants envelopes rustic cedar cabin
This place was so fun with it's big floor-to-ceiling windows, skylights, handmade door pulls, big timber beams, and cedar walls & ceiling. Outside and thru the windows, I loved the numerous anthurim plants in bloom and the unfurling fern palms. The Coqui frog calls in the evening were so unique and helped us fall asleep. Jennifer was quick with responses and checking in with us for what we need. Very nice. Just as warned, definitely bring your drinking and cooking water. Always use caution with gas stoves. Open a window. There is an electric space heater in the corner.

Disappointed
Parking was difficult Especially after returning from a night view of the volcano/ two vehicles in the small space meant inching back and forth in about a 20 point turn while my grandson scrambled around checking to make sure we didn’t dink our rental car. This is advertised as a one bedroom, but really the king bed is in the living room kitchen and only the bathroom is separate. Both mattresses were less than I was hoping forThe bathroom seemed OK until I discovered that the toilet seat had a broken hinge and would slide around unless you were very careful. The manager seemed to be aware of this as she later asked me if her handy person could come in at some time and fix it and yet there was no warning given to us ahead of time. I am 76 years old and it easily could have been a much worse situation.I asked to be at least partially reimbursed and received no response. I forgot to ask if they used perfumed laundry detergent, which I am sensitive to so that’s on me — just a heads up to other people who don’t like to lay their head on a perfumed pillowcaseThe hot tub was unavailable but the price didn’t reflect the situation.
