Why Mimi Schade chose Narbonne
Narbonne is a wonderful small city whose centre- ville resembles Paris in many ways. It has a beautiful town center with a cathedral and anthropological museum. And at Christmas, it sparkles with lights and small individual trees along the canal.
What makes this Apartment unique
Narbonne is uniquely located. It is 20 minutes from a family ocean beach and less than an hour from a ski resort in the Pyrenees. It is a 15 minute walk to the train station where the fast train (TGV) arrives from Paris and Barcelona. It is surrounded by towns with history from the Roman times through to today.

My dream apartment!
We spent three months in Mimi's apartment, and it is just wonderful in all aspects. From the designer kitchen, to the HUGE master bath shower, to a comfortable bed, to a large living room with gorgeous French doors overlooking the canal with its walking area and many cafes and restaurants. In fact there are 4 very good restaurants just below the apartment. Everything is in excellent taste. It is across from Les Halles, voted the best indoor market in France. The second bedroom and bath were great when a friend visited. And one of the best perks was free parking across the canal in an underground secure garage, as we had a car and traveled extensively around the beautiful area. The only draw-back for us were the many steps - for those with good knees it wouldn't be an issue. If we ever returned to stay in beautiful Narbonne, we will definitely choose Mimi's apartment!
Lovely Flat in great location
Excellent - exactly as described
We have just left this apartment. It was exactly as pictured. It was bright, large and well appointed. The location could not be any better. Right on the canal and in the center of things. However with bedrooms to the rear still quiet for sleeping. For us there was not a great deal to do in Narbonne so we went on a number of visits. These included a day to the Cathar castle at Peyrepertuse and a 4 hour boat hire on the canal from close to Cap d'Agde. Both were wonderful days out. We also cycled from Narbonne (the bike rental place was less than 100m from the apartment) down to Gruissan. The cycle down was perfect the cycle back against a strong wind was arduous. We should have heeded advice to go in the other direction so that we had the wind at our backs for the return but you live and learn. I cannot say that I would return to Narbonne but if I did I would certainly stay in the same apartment.
P.S. when arriving please note that you cannot easily drive to the apartment due to one way system. We just parked up and walked the last bit. The parking space that comes with the apartment is literally just across the canal. It is a bit tight manoeuvring in and out but a real bonus.
Our Third Stay at This Wonderful Apartment in Lovely Narbonne
We love Narbonne and this is such a welcoming apartment with all the comforts of home: well equipped kitchen to make lots of great food from Les Halles market across the canal, comfortable living space and bedrooms, and everything very clean and in working order. Highly recommend it for your base as you explore the area!
Thanks so much for your return to our apartment. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Come back anytime!
A wonderful stay
Such a nice apartment and so well located. We were very comfortable there and able to see a good deal of Narbonne and the area. Apartment was very nicely furnished. Our time there was great. We would do it again!
Perfect location and great apartment.
We spent February and March away from the Canadian winter and it was a great decision. The flat was as described and the market, restaurants and other shopping were very conveniently located. Christophe and Cathy were exceptional and Mimi was easy to deal with. Will definitely winter here again!
Great to hear that you enjoyed our apartment! Hope we'll see you again next year.
