Java's Den: A Pocono Mtn Retreat

Fire up the grill on the patio, play retro video games or challenge a friend to a game of foosball in the loft, or cozy on up by the fireplace or fire pit. We designed our home to be family-friendly with something to do and somewhere to lounge (both inside and out) for every guest so that lasting memories could be made.

While tucked away in the woods, we're also centralized with countless restaurants, supermarkets, stores, and excursions just minutes away!
The space
Living Room: White brick gas fireplace, 3-seater brown faux leather sofa, beige loveseat, brown rattan chairs with overstuffed pillows and cozy throws, jute rug, brown wooden coffee table, coat rack, shoe rack, plant decor throughout the home. 75" UHD 4K Smart TV with enhanced bass, bluetooth sound bar, ceiling fan

Dining Room: Large wooden industrial dining table that fits 8 people (can pull up extra dining chairs in the bedrooms), black trivets, placemats, and coasters, access to patio through the sliding doors (heavy glass doors in solid wooden frame will need some elbow grease to open). Also perfect for board games!

Kitchen: Stainless steel refrigerator, microwave, stove, and dishwasher, Keurig coffee machine with bold and decaf coffee pods, sugar, Splenda, and creamer available, electric kettle, toaster, rice cooker, food processor, blender, stocked spice cabinet, oil, salt and pepper, faucet with state-of-the-art Reverse Osmosis filtration system for clean drinking water, spacious island with glass orb pendant lights, recessed lighting throughout dining room and kitchen. Wine and shot glasses available.

Blue Bedroom (1st FL): Queen-size bed with extra pillows, duvet, aegean blue accent wall with matching throw pillows and blanket, wall-mounted canvas paintings of mountains, ottoman, side tables with USB ports and outlet, coasters, books, touch sensor lamps, desk, wastebasket, luggage rack, closet with hanging clothes organizer, hangers, iron and ironing board, portable air conditioner, ceiling fan

Blue Bathroom (1st FL): Vanity has face soap, first aid kit, hair dryer, and bath mats, hex decor has black washcloths for makeup removal, cotton pads and Q-tips, towel rack has bath towels, wash cloths, and hand towels, shower has glass sliding door with shower panel tower system with features such as rainfall, waterfall, body jets, handheld shower, and tub faucet, body wash, shampoo, conditioner provided

Loft Game Room: 40" TV, bluetooth sound bar, retro game console with 621 classic games, such as Super Mario Bros, Contra, Metroid, Zelda, Duck Hunt, Pacman, Dr. Mario, Punch-out, and more, 54" 4-in-1 combo game table includes table tennis, slide hockey, foosball, and billiards (need to pull out for more room), 2 Big Joe bean bag chairs, record player, and various board games

Patio: Brand new Nexgrill 4-burner propane gas grill with side burner, 6-piece rattan wicker outdoor sofas with glass table, fairy lights wrapped around the wood deck railings

Backyard: 6 wooden Adirondack chairs, Blue-sky fire pit with smokeless design, rattan and glass bistro set for 6, hanging string lights, pile of fallen branches and twigs behind the shed for your burning enjoyment

Laundry room: brand new Samsung front load washer (4.5 cu.ft.) with super speed wash function and dryer (7.5 cu.ft.) with steam sanitizer and wrinkle-free function, baby sensitive detergent, oxy clean detergent, fabric softener, bleach

Managing expectations:
-Before booking, please understand that there is a cosmetic blemish on the living room floor (bubble); it does not compromise the safety of our guests.
-We are tucked away in the woods. So while our home has electronic bug repellants, bug screens, and a cedar oil-treated backyard, bugs can still find a way into the house.
-It is possible for hot water to run out. Please allow time for it to heat up again if that happens.
Guest access
The entire house is accessible EXCEPT: bathroom closets, boiler room, shed, and crawlspace
Other things to note
We have a family of deer that visits our backyard from time to time. Please be kind to them!

During the summer months, our home stays relatively cool. There is NO central air conditioning. There are powerful ceiling fans in the living room, dining room, and blue/green bedroom. If it still feels hot, we have provided 3 additional portable air conditioners (stored in the bedroom closets) for your convenience.

During the winter months, there is baseboard heating. If you need extra heat, we have provided 3 additional portable space heaters for your convenience.

Our home uses a boiler water tank, which means it is possible that hot water can run out. Please just allow some time in between for the water to heat up again. This often happens when the dishwasher, clothes washer, and multiple hot showers are running simultaneously.
