My name is Adam Trubow and I was born in Durango, Colorado and grew up in New Mexico. I am product of the University of New Mexico and have a real estate business that spans the state. This is my second home. I love New Mexico. I have a special love for Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico. There is really nowhere else like it. Let me know if I can answer any questions.
Adam Trubow purchased this house in 2012
This is a wonderful property. Purchased in 2012, La Casa De Suerte is a truly one of a kind property in an amazing location. With amazing wooden accents, wood floors, and classy tasteful updates, you can not find other properties with such amenities and character.
The house worked out perfectly for us. It is much bigger than it appears in the photo and the six of us spread out very comfortably. For us this meant the teenagers took over the basement quarters and the adults enjoyed peace and quiet upstairs. But we could all gather in the upstairs comfortably as well. I was surprised at how much we used the back room - I think of it as a sunporch. Since this is a winter visit it was lovely to sit out there with breakfast or a book and enjoy the sunshine and the view to the attractive patio. I always like a well stocked kitchen and I found all the tools I needed for cooking at eating at home at least twice a day. There were many kitchen tools that I have failed to find in other rental homes. Another detail I appreciate is good beds. I tried all of them and all were very comfortable. The location was wonderful - we could walk to Canyon Rd., the square in the center of town, many restaurants or just climb the hill of the park just north of there and enjoy lovely views and sunsets. It was perfect for us. The place to be sure to include on your visit is Chez Mamou. It opens early for a fabulous cup of coffee (or capuccino I think - my husband is the one who made daily visits). I appreciated the perfect pastries he brought home for breakfast. It is a block or two away and a great option for treats, or lunch. We'd love to come back.
We stayed here over spring break. It was perfect. It was an easy drive to the mountain and an easy walk to the Plaza. We will for sure stay here again when we return to Santa Fe.
We spent New Year’s weekend in Santa Fe at the La Casa de Suerte. The group consisted of 3 couples and the house suited us perfectly. It was large, cozy, clean, had more than enough towels to go around, and had the most entertaining furnishings we’ve ever encountered in a vacation house. Artwork, bathroom tiles, drums, wardrobes- everywhere we looked we found something interesting. The bar area was fabulous for drinks and h’orderves. The house also had more than enough bathrooms and sinks (upstairs bedrooms had sinks in the rooms). Two couples shared a shower on the first floor but that was not an issue. And the location was perfect for us. We could walk into town and also walk up to the Cross of the Martyrs where we brought in the new year. Adam was always quick to respond to all our questions. Great place and we would definitely stay here again.
Very happy with our stay at Casa de Suerte. House is in a great location and is very cozy. Use to be a spa so it is a very interesting layout. Owner was very friendly and attentive to our needs.
First, the location can not be beat. Second, the house is full of charm. Third, the owner's communication is excellent. My only regret is that we did not have more time. Please book this wonderful spa turned home and enjoy Santa Fe. Would be great for a romantic get away, a girls or couples weekend or a family gathering. The house has much to enjoy alone plus there is all of Santa Fe and its excellent shops and restaurants within a short walk.
Very cool and eclectic. Yet. Unorganized and confusing. We couldn't find light switches. There is not any convenient closet space. The cloak closet for our coats was full of other stuff in the way. We had to use each other's bathrooms to utilize showers. And the layout of the house was stressful for us. The basement bedroom wasn't used. My son slept on the couch. And we had to search for sheets. The price was great for the size but it was hard to enjoy the space together. The TV downstairs didn't have a remote and was not even hooked up to watch. However, the sauna and steam room was PHENOMINAL!! My husband was sick and used it twice a day. Adam was great to work with and super friendly. But I will choose a different property next time.
Adam's place IS walkable to the plaza. I've been to Santa Fe on many occasions and when researching VRBOs to book for this last visit, I was intrigued by the all the entries that described themselves as "walkable" to the plaza. Sure, many were, but upon closer inspection and map checking, it turns out you had to be willing to invest a good amount of time to get there. Adam's place is a 5 minute walk, tops. But it's quiet, since it is just on the other side of the Paseo de Paralta and perfect for us as a dog owner, since there is a handy and lovely park across the street. The short but scenic hike via stairs to Fort Marcy is another few steps away. The house itself is terrific--we (and our dog) particularly loved and took advantage of the enclosed backyard with its comfortable furnishings, the steam room and sauna (no dog use for the latter two rooms!). Top all that with fascinating southwestern details in the home, from door and other architectural trim to flooring and you always felt you were in a special vacation home. Adam was very easy to work with, responsive, accommodating and thorough. This is a great place to enjoy your Santa Fe stay since there is much to enjoy minutes from your front door!
La Casa de Suerte (The house of luck) is located just 3 blocks Northeast from the heart of the Santa Fe Plaza and a .25 of a mile from Canyon Road (known for it's world class art). Also, less than 300 yards away are great landmark restaurants such as The Shed, La Casa Sena, and The Bull Ring.
