Rarely so we stay at hotels on our adventures. We find it so important to learn and appreciate the location and most importantly, the beautiful people.This location (and the hosts) did not disappoint. Although it is small, it has everything you need to have an enjoyable stay in Chania. We enjoyed coffee every morning from the roof top deck with a majestic view of the Mediterranean Sea and melodic clapping of the waves. The locals moving about heading to work or fishing was an added bonus. We did not rent a car and enjoyed our walks to and from Old Town. If ever in Chania again, we will stay here!

Momentum was a wonderful launchpad for our Cretan adventures. Close to everything but not IN everything. Lots of nice places to walk nearby. The next village over hosts “Kaneba” the best taverna on the island in our opinion. Momentum has everything you need and nothing you don’t. It’s a simple place to relax and unwind without adding stress and clutter to your vacation.

This villa is beautiful and the hosts were super helpful and communicative when needed. Pool is so lovely and gets sun all day. Kitchen was really well appointed and it's a short drive to any amenity you could desire (grocery store, restaurants, the beach). Lots of great local recommendations from hosts and previous guests. Some surrounding villas are being worked on/built as of Oct 2024, but workers were not noisy and we barely noticed. Would be happy to stay here again.

Well appointed, great location, graciously welcomed by host

Great place for a family stay in Crete. The place is even better than in the pictures. The beach and a number of eateries are a short walk away. The host lives right next door and is very generous and welcomes us with a basket of homegrown oranges and a bottle of olive oil (the best tasting olive oil in my life) from the family owned mill. The ocean views are priceless and just put you in a great mood to start the day. Highly recommend a stay here.

Those who have seen the old movie "The Wizard of Oz," surely remember the scene when the tornado plops Dorothy's black and white farm house on the ground and Dorothy opens the door. As she does so, she is greeted by the Technicolor land of Oz. That is kind of the way I felt when Maryellen, our host at Kyanon House, greeted us at the top of the garden staircase down to the apartment. The view of the blue Aegean Sea, the city of Chania, the infinity pool and the lush garden seemed Oz-like. Inside we found a well designed space that took total advantage of the view. It was beautifully and comfortably decorated. And Maryellen explained all to us and provided us with lists and descriptions of everything to do from hiking, to swimming, to tours and restaurants. Maryellen was quickly responsive whenever we had questions, needed help or wanted reservations. This was simply one of the best, if not the best, VRBOs we have stayed in. Maryellen even provided us with fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs and local beverages!

We stayed at the property for a week in August. It met all our expectations. The house is clean and comfortable. All bedrooms have a great view of the olive groves and the garden is pretty. It is near Chania and is about an hour drive to famous beaches on the west and in the south. It has amazing sunrise view right from the terrace. We are very happy with the experience. The only thing that can be improved is the Internet coverage and speed. We find the Internet can be spotty and slow at night.

Wonderful experience at Evangelia’s villa in Maleme, Crete. Evangelia & her son were extremely welcoming & helpful. They were there to greet us and walk us through the villa, even when we pushed our arrival time back a couple hours with short notice. Evangelia had great & fast communication through VRBO before & during our trip, as well as helpful PDF’s with house info & recommendations for the area. We brought our 2 rental cars & there was parking for them at the villa. We had 7 adults & a 1.5 year old baby & we fit comfortably within the 4 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms. The house was very clean throughout & the air conditioning made July days very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with many essentials & Evangelia was very kind to have left baked goods, fruit, jams, wine, raki, water & more. The back patio area & yard were beautiful, well kept & relaxing—you can see the water from there too. Beach, restaurants, pharmacy, and grocery nearby, we esp liked “Gyros Maleme Grill Restaurant” minutes away walk. Although we didn’t go to the beach that you can see from the house (other than to walk along it in the evening) this villa was no more than 30 min drive to all that Chania offers & about an hour or so from some of the most popular & unique beaches in Crete like Falassarna, Balos, and Elafonissi. “Biolea” olive oil estate was a 25 min drive & had a nice tour & a very scenic location. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Evangelia’s villa & would highly recommend!
