They thought of everything-outdoor activities, indoor activities, welcomed us to watch them bring in the cows for milking, and even let the kids meet some brand new calves. Very responsive to any questions we had.
Beautiful cottage, comfortable furniture, kitchen appliances worked well. The Borntragers nailed the interior design, layout and convenience of a vacation rental. It was quiet and peaceful.
This property exceeded or expectations. Wonderful, peaceful and quiet, It’s just minutes away from Hutch and the drive is very easy. We will stay here again the next time we need to come to Hutch.
Perfect place if you are in the Hutchinson area. Cutest cottage and very clean. They have thought of everything. Basketball court is perfect for teenagers to get energy out!!
What a wonderful get away from the city. The Borntrager family thought of everything. The outdoor area was great for the kids to play. The farm was fun and the dairy store was delicious. Definitely would stay again.
First of all, of all the vacation rentals we’ve stayed in, this was so beautiful and clean inside. We had a wonderful time with the kids. Enjoyed some fresh cheese from the store. Very cool experience and an above average rental!
My sisters and I loved staying on this working Dairy (etc) Farm!
It was so nice to wake up in a peaceful and, for us- - because we didn’t have the chores connected to this idyll- -relaxed setting.
The Red Barn area itself has many the hosts couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. attractions, and is close to Hutch with more.

This is a true gem in Kansas and such a fun and unique place to stay. We loved our time here at the cottage and on the farm. The owners thought of everything in the cottage from the decor, the supplies, the outdoor games, grill, and all the furnishings. The store was so cool to visit in the morning and then to walk around the farm a little. Seeing the cows was great and being welcomed by all the sweet farm cats. You will love your stay here and it's worth every penny!
We enjoyed our stay at this super clean and comfortable barn. The cows, rabbits and cats were relaxing to watch. The pictures don't do this place justice, the decor was a tasteful and cute country theme. I would like to stress again how clean and functional the place was. It was like we were the first to stay. Also good location and easy drive to the Cosmosphere. The store has a variety of meats, raw dairy and friendly people.
Great place to stay, cozy and perfect for my husband and our 12 year old son. We were in town for NJCAA Nationals Championship so we were in and out a lot but when we were there, it was just what we needed. Individually temperature controlled rooms was wonderful, the clothing steamer was a wonderful added touch while traveling. We were wishing the shower water could have been hotter, but we’re hot tub people too. But everything else was above and beyond what you could ask for in a VRBO, quality and comfort wise, so that says a lot if it’s the only glitch. We would highly recommend staying here!
Just as advertised! Quaint little place. The little shop on the farm was awesome. We got steak, potatos, asparagus, bread & butter, and raspberry ice cream for supper. We had eggs w/ last bit of steak and the last of the asparagus, farm fresh cheese, and fresh milk from right there for breakfast the next day. Saw the cows, guinea hens, and of course the cats. If you want to relax away from the city on a farm, this is where you want to go! Thank you so much.
