Great location/beds not comfortable

Great location and amazing view. Only complaint is beds were very uncomfortable. Also no washing machine in unit so you have to go exchange your towels daily or pay to wash them at the laundromat.

Didn't want to leave!

It's hard to express how much I enjoyed my stay! It was comfortable, safe, and so easy to move about the property. I would like to especially commend Mr. David Reyes who works at the front desk. He went so far out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. I'll be back.

The room was in a great location and was a very easy building to navigate. The rooms were not very nice. Beds were terrible and the furniture overall was very poor. The pool and beach access was amazing. If you do not care about the interior then this is a great place for you.

We love South Padre and we go every year. We had stayed at the Aquarius many times, but this Condo it had been the worst. It needs a lot of work. Bathroom is pretty nasty, broken and lots of missing vertical blinds pieces. The furniture is in really, really bad shape. In short I think the owners need to invest money in that place. Like I said before love the Aquarius the people are very friendly, but we will make sure that we won't rent 405 again. The beach and the weather was GREAT!!😍

Run down

The condo is definitely showing signs of age - mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, uncomfortable beds, toilet very rusty, A/C unit rusty but worked, some permanently stained floor tiles, toaster didn’t work, etc. The main floor of the building was being renovated - the tile floor was being replaced - the noise started early and went on all day even on the weekend, very disruptive and dirty/dusty. The access to the beach is almost completely overgrown. Vines and undergrowth have taken over the path. On the positive side - check in and out was easy, aside from permanent stains and signs of wear the apartment was clean, the view is amazing and the pool/hot tub/grounds are great.

Close to the beach, but won’t ever stay here again

The only good thing about this property is the location to the beach. The beds were listed as queen/full, however both were full size with uncomfortable and dated bedding The mattresses were very uncomfortable. We utilized the sleeper sofa and asked for it to be made, per their instructions, but it was not, leaving us without a blanket for that bed. When we asked the management company for one, we were told we could drive over there and they would see if they could find one. The wifi worked for less than one hour during our 2 day stay. The lock on the sliding back door was broken and therefore there was no way to lock the door. The dining room table is duck taped together. The location is awesome, but we would definitely not stay at this property again.

Dirty Outdated and Broken

This property was unsatisfactory and needs quite a bit of work. It was dirty, there was candy or something on the floor. When we arrived. There’s a weird drain tube or something above the bathtub that is exposed. The bathroom was outdated and seemed to barely function. I’ve never seen worse shower pressure. The furniture was broken, squeaky, uncomfortable and nearly falling apart. The grout in the entire place is coming up or gone completely in some spots. The paint is peeling off the walls. The patio furniture was broken and unusable. There were tiny toys and choking hazards that were seemingly left by the previous renters. Appliances were outdated. The tv had issues and white spots in the picture that made it hard to watch anything. Half of the blinds were missing so there’s no way to block light coming in. We loved the location of this building. It’s right on the beach so it was a short walk. The pool was heated and the jacuzzi was hot. It was close to restaurants and shops.

We had maintenance out at our vacation home on April 26th, 2021 to fix everything you mentioned except for the drain pipe in the shower - that is the overflow drain for the in-ceiling a/c unit. Enjoyed our stay

The condo was nice needs some updating I thought on the furniture it really needs a ceiling fan in the second bedroom it gets awful stuffy if the doors closed had problems with the commode the first night there maintenance was quick to fix it. The only problem was the WiFi we couldn’t get it to connect so we had to use our hotspot constantly. Other wise it was great the view was perfect got to watch some windsurfers from the balcony.

Great view

The property was very well maintained inside and outside. It is gated which was an added benefit. There is a walkway to the beach from the pool area. The unit was mostly quiet except that you can hear water (showers etc) from other adjacent unit, similar to a hotel. This unit has an updated kitchen but no dishwasher. There is a balcony and great view of the beach.

Love South Padre

Great location...unobstructed view of the beach from this condo. The grounds of the complex well kept with nice pool and other cool recreational areas. Management was responsive no issue there. Some things to improve: we found dining room table broken (if we were 6 people we would not have room to seat for all)/missing blinds in the leaving room/no wine glasses (lol). Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The good, the bad, and the ugly

Good: location, location, location. Unit faces the beach and fourth floor is a great height. The A/C worked (but this was Novemeber so was not tested), the floors and walls were in good shape, and the property manager was responsive when contacted. The grounds of the complex appeared well kept. Bad: the dexcription describes this as being around 700 sq ft. No deception here but realize how small that is. The balcony provides a nice view but it only the width of a chair. For use, size was OK for a couple. It would be small for 4 and impossible for 6. Bathroom could use an upgrade and was tiny but at least it worked. Ugly: All the stuff that did not work. There was one working chair on the balcony. The dining room table was broken. The TV worked but the picture was just a black blob for dark scenes and the sound was horrible. The frig was broken, the main compartment was barely cool and the freezer section could not get below feezing (the property manager arranged for a temproary replacement, probably 1/3 of the blinds were missing adn on hot days those blinds would be needed. The telling thing to me is the April 2021 reviews mention the same things. The host's response to one previous review was they indicated they fixed "some of the issues you found". But results speak much louder than words. And those words ring a bit hollow to me given what we found. We rented in November and found the same "dilapidated" condition including the dining table, patio furniture, missing blind slats, lousy TV, and now the frig had degraded to not working (we did not try the sleeper as a bed as we did not need it for that).

Dilapidated

The grounds of the Aquarius were nice, except for the extremely rusted and dirty grills. The customer service was less than expected. We were not greeted at the front desk to check in. An unfriendly girl from the office pointed the way to the elevators without so much as looking at us. However, the elevator was not working! Another employee, after 15 minutes of laughing and cracking jokes about carrying our luggage up to the 4th floor offered to bring the luggage up when elevator was working again. Let me add that one of the people staying with me was my 82yo mother who has a heart condition. Not really that funny. We also had a young night shift worker who really impressed us with bad customer service. We wanted to go on the beach at 5 am to look for sand dollars. Every door in this place is locked! No escape plan posted and no way out in case of fire. The young man at the desk would not let us out! We were told to go out the front door, through the parking lot out the front gate onto the streets and down the alley next to us to get to the beach. Can I please point out my friend and myself are 60 years old? Who sends 2 women down an alley in the dark? Can I also mention, there was NO manager on the property for the entire weekend? The room, despite the pretty view, was far below our expectations. The furniture was old, worn out, broken and just dilapidated. Overall, the 6 pieces of furniture in this unit look like they were from 1970's and never replaced, cleaned or repaired. There is hardly adequate seating for 4 people, let alone the 6 that is advertised. The couch had a dirty, stained cushions and one was only being held together by safety pins. The bed in the sleeper sofa is broken making it unusable. The table was broken, would not extend and only had seating for 3. The bed in the front bedroom was broken. The refrigerator was rusty and had a broken shelf along with a rusty coffee maker. The bathroom was a disgrace, the toilet was black on the bottom and looked to be unclean. The shower was worn so bad it looked dirty and none of my group would shower in it. The sink was worn too, but slightly better than the toilet and tub. This room was not worth the money spent and none of us would recommend this room or the Aquarius. We have pictures of all the inadequacies in this room I will be happy to share them. Extremely dissatisfied.

Amazing View

Great little condo. Clean and comfortable. Quiet and relaxing. Kitchen was well stocked(but no spices not even salt and pepper). Well kept landscaping and pool/hot tub area. Easy access to the beach. AMAZING view of the gulf. Close to bars and restaurants and mini golf and go carting. Will definitely be back!

AMAZING AND CUTE LITTLE CONDO

When my friends and I arrived to the condo. It was neat and clean and organized. It had a beautiful view of the condo's pool and beach. Woke up everyday with a beautiful view of the beach. The beds and bathroom was neat and organized. Did not have a problem with the room at all. Would love to book again if we could!

I've never left a bad review on VRBO so this is a first. The kitchen is nice and mostly stocked but overall this property needs paint, new bathroom (dirty), new beds and linens. The beds have to be 15-20 years old and are very uncomfortable. The linens are like a super cheap hotel. The place has been abused by other guests with holes in drywall. The shared hallway smelled like trash. We considered leaving but the kids were having a lot of fun so we stayed. Also, watch out for the shared luggage dolly as a rusty part sticks out. I cut my ankle when we arrived and needed a tetenus shot. Fun times! The location and the pool area are nice.

Spring vacation on South Padre Island

I would recommend this property because of it's great location and water view. The furniture was old and needed upgrading. The kitchen was great and easy to use. The bathroom was in serious need of work. The restaurants were good. The food was good and prices were reasonable. Getting around was easy
