Why Carol chose Fraser

After looking at properties in Vail, we decided to purchase a property in the Winter Park area because we wanted to spend our days skiing rather than standing in lift lines. Also, the resort has skiing for all levels from beginners to expert. We fell in love with the area during summer visits taking advantage of three lakes as well as Rocky Mountain National Park within 20-30 miles of Sun River. Our family also enjoys the Alpine Slide and biking trails in the summer at the resort.

Restaurants and local attractions in the area cater to families and offer reasonable costs. Local residents are welcoming and there is a real sense of community here.

Located in a small development of 12 townhouses, close to U.S. 40 and along the Fraser River, it is a quick trip to the Winter Park Resort.

Finally, not many properties in the area have both free WiFi and a private spa.

What makes this townhome unique

What attracted me to this property is that, unlike many condos and townhomes, there is plenty of space, natural light and views of Byers Peak and the ski area.

The private spa on the deck has a beaurtiful view of the ski area and the Continental Divide. The bedrooms are on the lower level while the living area on the upper level has doors and windows to add to the unit's warmth. There is nothing better than the warm Colorado sun streaming in to brighten a winter day!

Additionally, the other 11 townhouses are either primary or second homes for the owners that are used during ski season on the weekends and only sporadically in the summer. I hope you enjoy this property as much as my family has.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for the wonderful place to stay. Loved the full kitchen with pots and pans. There is nothing better than a good hot soak in a hot tub running the mountain. Appreciated the WiFi very much.

Close, convenient, spacious and very well equipped

Our yearly Spring break trip for skiing/boarding revolves around deciding on where to go. This year was Winter Park, a long time favorite ski area, and the condo is in Frazier just 3 miles from WP and 9 miles to free parking at the base of Mary Jane where you can nearly ski to your car. The owner, Carol, was an excellent and timely person to deal with first off. We were allowed to move in earlier than the stated time and found the condo in pristine condition. The kitchen was pretty spacious and, for the first time ever in renting a condo, the freezer had an ice maker that worked! Good sets of pots and pans, and all the utilities you need to cook for 4 hungry skiers. The cooking range, like most in the area, was electric so I had to get used to that again.

While the description of the condo says 6 is the available capacity 4 was actually perfect. The bathrooms were adequate and lots of linens provided. The beds were comfortable, even the sleeper sofa which is a rarity. The bonus was the hot tub since we skied/boarded 5 straight days. We even jumped out of the tub and went and laid out in the snow before getting back in. A bit of shock therapy for getting the blood flowing! I would have to say there was only one negative is that, after skiing all day, walking up and down stairs kept us in good shape! The internet was very quick compared with other condos we had rented and the cable was OK. All in all the entire trip was great thanks to great accommodations and good snow. We were shocked though that lift tickets have become so expensive. Nearly $1500 for 3 adults for 3 days! I would definitely suggest buying season passes rather than paying the daily lift ticket price.

Owner's Response: Will, Thank you for taking the time to review the property. I am happy that you found the bedding comfortable and enjoyed the hot tub. Yes, as described,in the listing, the main living area in the townhouse is on the second floor. Hopefully the parking right in front with just a few steps to the door made it convenient for you to carry in the luggage and gear. Happy you enjoyed your stay and made good use of those lift tickets. Carol

Spent most of my time on the slopes, but the rental was a great place to crash. The hot tub was a definite bonus.

Spacious and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We had a party of three and loved our stay. There are two large twin beds in one room and a trundle under one of them. They were SO comfortable after a long day on the slopes. I've stayed in tons of vrbos and these were the most comfortable by far. The other room (master) had its own bathroom and had a nice chair. Perfect for privacy and it had its own tv as well. The hot tub was super awesome (and new) and could seat 4 people comfortably. The house was also very warm which was great in the cold weather. I've been in some co vrbos that were really drafty, not this one. Lots of space to hang your ski gear and leave your boots in the big entry. The upstairs was nicely divided with a big table and kitchen with a bar on one side and a sitting area with two couches, fire place, and tv on the other side. There were 4 decks!! Overal this has been one of the most comfortable condos I've stayed in. Connie was very responsive.for the price this is a great option. One last thing...the bus picks you up at the ace hardware store that's only a 2 minute walk from the condo. We took the bus to the slopes two days and it's super convenient if you don't want to drive your car on icy streets. We would definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: Hi Anna, I really appreciate your review of the property. One of the things that really contributes to the warmth of the property is all the natural light in the main living area. The sum feels great on a cold day! I am happy you enjoyed the hot tub and the proximity to the free shuttle stop. It just provides another option to driving and everyone in the party needing to go and come to the ski area at the same time. Thanks for taking the time to submit this, and please come again soon. Carol

Spacious and light

  • 5 of 5

We loved the spacious living area, and the views were beautiful. Great location to local restaurants and bars within walking. Comfy beds and quiet all around, except for the occasional train. Bathrooms were tight, but good water pressure. Well stocked kitchen, but no wine glasses. Our couch guest tried the sofabed closest to the stairs, but it had an incline toward the pillows. Night #2 was much better sleeping on the couch itself. Awesome hot tub to ourselves. Appreciated having laundry.

Owner's Response: Thanks Dana for taking the time to write a review, and I am happy that you enjoyed your stay and plan on returning. I am sorry that your friend did not use the new sofa sleeper facing the wood burning snow. I think he would have found it quite comfortable. It is a replacement for the one he tried to use. I even opted for a more expensive memory foam mattress on the new one. During your next stay, please try it out. I am sure your friend will find it more comfortable. Have a wonderful day and thanks again.

The Winter Park Ski Resort is a world class resort and Colorado’s favorite. With its location near the Continental Divide, the resort experiences the most consistent snow, season after season. Its seven ski areas, Winter Park, Mary Jane, The Cirque, Vasquez Ridge, Parsenn Bowl, Terrain Park, and Eagle Wind are interconnected by trails and lifts, and satisfy all ability levels. It is an affordable family resort with a wonderful Ski School, where learners can actually practice on their own mountain in Discovery Park. There are also award winning parks to challenge snowboarders. The uphill lift capacity of 36,900 per hour ensures less time in line and more time on the slopes. When you are not on the slopes, you can dine or shop in the newly developed Village at Winter Park for the total ski experience
