At La Grande Ferme La Bataille, you will find Les Lavandes, La Roseraie and Les Palmiers nestled within the pretty village of La Bataille. All of our gites have been sympathetically restored to expose the beauty and charm of the original oak beams, wood flooring, and limestone walls. These rustic French gites ooze warmth and character helping you feel relaxed and at home as soon as you arrive. Accommodating up to 16 guests across all properties, La Grande Ferme La Bataille is perfect for your relaxing getaway with family or friends.
Across the 3 attached properties, you have 4 double bedrooms and 4 twin bedrooms, either with a courtyard view or looking out across the French countryside.
Downstairs, the gites have comfy lounge areas with logburners and open kitchen diners with all the necessary amenities available to you. Enjoy free WIFI and French/English TV. Bed linens, towels/pool towels are all provided free of charge.
Please note - for bookings during the colder months, the first bag of logs for the log burner are provided on your arrival. Further supply of logs can be purchased on site if required. There will also be an additional charge prior to your arrival if you wish to make use of the electric radiators during your stay.
Set in 2 acres of land, you have an abundance of beautiful trees and vast open space around you, offering peace, tranquillity, and walks amongst nature. Or enjoy a range of outdoor activities for all ages.
Spend lazy summer days by your very own private heated salt water pool, with open views across the countryside soothed by the sound of rippling water and bird song.
Please note - the pool will be open during mid April to mid September, weather/temperature permitting.
Each gite has a private enclosed garden to the rear with sitting/dining area, perfect for your morning coffee as you ease yourself into your day. Enjoy the use of your stone-built BBQs, cooking and dining with family or friends.
At night, sit back and enjoy a glass of wine, your garden twinkling with fairy lights, as you watch the glorious sunsets with bats and owls flying overhead.
The gites are located in the small and peaceful village of La Bataille, 4km from Chef Boutonne, a market town steeped in history and recently awarded 'Petit Cite de Caractere'.
You can enjoy restaurants, bars, boulangeries, pâtisseries, a cinema, markets and regular festivals throughout the summer months.
A visit to Chateau De Javarzay in the centre of the town is a must, with beautiful walks through the grounds, around the fishing lake and riverside strolls along the river Boutonne.
You will find an abundance of other pretty french towns to explore within a short drive of Chef Boutonne, all with their own character, shops, bars, restaurants, and weekly markets.
Centrally located for exploring the wider area, the beautiful coastal city of La Rochelle is just over an hour away, Niort 45 minutes away and the cities of Poitiers, Angouleme and Limoges all around an hours drive.
We do live within the grounds of the property, but whether you are here as friends, a couple, or a family, your privacy during your holiday is of utmost importance to us.
We offer a self check-in, so once you open the door to your gite, your relaxation can begin.
Please bare in mind, we are located in a peaceful small village. Because of this, we have a strict house rule asking you to be respectful of noise after 22.00 hours.
