Set on 4 acres, across a scenic country road from a waterfall and pond with a stream on property, this wonderful 18th century historic estate includes the main home, a guest house, pool and large flagstone dining terrace with barbeque. The 18th century farm house was expanded to include a large music living room with fireplace, a second large movie screening room, and an eat in chef's kitchen with a Viking 6-burner gas range and Sub-Zero refrigerator. The main home and pool house are in mint condition with luxury furnishings including antiques, flat screen tvs, wifi, central heat and air conditioning, new down feather beds, comforters, and pillows, pressed cotton sheets and bathrobes. The giant master king bedroom has a master bathroom with a soaking tub, large shower, and two marble sinks. The private outdoor terraces are perfect for private entertaining, barbequing and dining. The heated heated pool is surrounded by a terrace with with numerous lounge areas and tables. The 3-bedroom pool house also has a separate kitchen and living room. The private home is on a designated scenic dirt road perfect for walking among other estates.

Located in Washington, within a few miles are the Mayflower Inn and Spa (great Tap Room, porch dining and piano weekends), the Gunnery Prep School, Washington's Historic Green, numerous other popular restaurants, antique shops, wonderful boutiques, art galleries, and farm stands. Golfing, hiking, fly fishing, canoeing/kayaking/tubing, Mohawk Mountain Ski Area and Lake Waramaug beaches are all within 15-20 minutes.

Within an hour are the cultural centers of Lenox MA, Hartford CT and New Haven (Yale).
Washington is an easy low traffic 1 3/4 hour drive from NYC or Boston.

Washington is located in historic, rural Litchfield County, within a scenic 2-hour drive from NYC and is exceptional for its excellent restaurants, spas, antique shops, art galleries, boutiques, farms, historic homes, gardens, vineyards, distilleries, and orchards. The Gilmore Girls creator modeled Stars Hollow, the perfect Connecticut town, after Washington and the Independence Inn after the Mayflower Inn. It is the current or former home to many artists, writers, actors and Wall Street executives – referred to as "more Vermont, than Vermont" and "the un-Hamptons". Nature preserves, Lake Waramaug, and the Shepaug River offer extensive hiking, biking, and water activities. All of my homes in Washington and Roxbury (PoshPadsCT) are beautifully landscaped with flowering shrubs, flagstone terraces with gas bbq. And heated pools. They are furnisged with Frette pressed cotton sheets, plush towels and bathrobes, down featherbeds, comforters and pillows. Optional maid and catering and massage services are available. All homes have Central heat and AC, WiFi, flat screen televisions with dvds, cable and movie channels, and central alarms.

A car is necessary to enjoy rural Roxbury, Washington and Litchfield County.
The nearest bus station is Southbury, 15 minutes away.
The nearest train stations are in Amenia and Wingdale NY or Danbury or New Haven CT – all about 45 minutes away.
