TWO-WEEK MAXIMUM STAY

WE ARE VERY PET FRIENDLY PROPERTY = WE HAVE 3 LABS

This 2BR apartment comfortably accommodates four on vacation or in town for a graduation weekend, college visits, but it’s also a perfect getaway for anyone looking for a small slice of Heaven on Cape Ann during the off season.

Past guests repeatedly say this apartment is bigger in person and the space looks just like the pictures online. Several said this property is the very best VRBO/HomeAway accommodation they have ever rented. They also write about how cozy and comfy the apartment is, many feel right at home, right away. Just read our stellar reviews.

This apartment is on the second floor of our house, where we live, with our amazing views of Gloucester's Inner Harbor. Within this apartment, there are two bedrooms each with its own private bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed and a hidden trundle bed for young children with a full bathroom with soaking tub. The second bedroom, off of the living area, has a queen bed and a bathroom with a shower stall. Each bedroom is ideal for couples traveling together, but the twin & trundle bed make it flexible for up to 6 people. The living room couch is extra long and comfy for sleeping but it is not a sleep-sofa.

The apartment has its own separate entrance and our guests tell they feel they have a lot of privacy while staying with us, even though we share the same house. There is off-street parking for up to 3 cars. The open living-dining space has a dining room table that can seat 4, flat screen TV with basic cable, WiFi, a comfy sofa with coffee table, two over-sized chairs, and a breakfast bar with 4 stools at the kitchen counter. The well-equipped kitchen has an oven/stove, fridge with freezer, coffeemaker, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, and full set of dishes, pots & pans, flatware and many utensils. If anything is missing, just let us know. We’re right downstairs!

I am Rebecca and manage this property. I live on the first floor below this apartment with my retired mother, Dot, (aka 'Gloucester Quilter') who quilts and gardens at home. One of us is always on hand to attend to any question or concern.

We are very knowledgeable about how best to experience the North Shore and day trips in our region and towns across New England. PLEASE submit a property inquiry through this portal for a personalized quote. We will reply with a quote along with our comprehensive, 6-page, visitors guide which includes heaps of local do's and don'ts.

About Rebecca Borden

My mother has owned in this property since 2000. I moved back home in 2009 to help support her. We decided to join VRBO in Nov'11 after we had such a positive experience renting ourselves through VBRO. We have enjoyed hosting some great guests from all over the country and internationally!

This apartment is an 'in-law' apartment on the second floor of the house where we live on the first floor. We love sharing our property, pool (in summer) and landscape with our guests. As our reviews confirm, we have had many happy guests.

We do not rent for extended stays because, while we have had many amazing visitors, we did have a few bad apples . We are cautious about sharing our property with incompatible 'neighbors' for extended stays. Those are our terms and we hope you respect our perspective.

As a policy, we do not give out our address for privacy and security reasons. We live here along with our neighbors in one of the best kept secret locations on Cape Ann. We feel our online reviews speak for themselves.

Rebecca Borden purchased this apartment in 2000

Why Rebecca Borden chose North of Boston & Greater Merrimack Valley

Gloucester and Cape Ann are an hour from Boston. We have amazing beaches, rich history and cultural legacy and award winning restaurants. You can easily take a day trip to Boston by commuter rail and come back and see a glorious sunset over the harbor.

What makes this apartment unique

We love sharing our views, pool and property with guests. Gloucester is such a great area to visit and vacation!

Beautiful view!

  • 4 of 5

Our family enjoyed our stay with Dot, Rebecca and also the pups! The house has a relaxed comfy feel, well stocked and equipped for a short or long stay.. It was easy to find and we had no problem finding our way around the town from there. We used the suggestions provided for restaurants and we were very satisfied with each place.

Owner's Response: BJ and her family are prime example of why our property is such a great pet friendly property for folks traveling together and wanting to experience New England in Sept/Oct but with separate bedrooms and private baths (2BR/2BA). We try to help ensure our guests make the most of what to see, eat and enjoy nearby through our personal recommendations and suggestions. There is so much to experience, learn, explore and enjoy here in Gloucester and Rockport! AND We rent year round!

Great location and hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

We were visiting for a wedding and wish we could have spent more time here. Great apartment with a lovely view. We had everything we needed and the host made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to return in the near future.

Owner's Response: This was a whirl-wind weekend wedding for Pam. I confess I never actually met her in person. I was working late; she was traveling or up early. But we communicated in detail to help her plan her stay and coordinate her arrival(s) with her family members. So sorry she didn't get to rest and enjoy our rental more. If the small amount of time she spent staying at our property gives any indication, we offer great hospitality on an amazing property. We look forward to them coming back, relaxing and enjoying all that Gloucester and Cape Ann can offer.

Overall Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

What a fun place, the views of the harbor from the living room and from the beautiful grounds just outstanding. Great sunsets. The owners, Rebecca and Dot were very hospitable and nice, making sure we were comfortable, they were so good with my four year old grandkids. Letting them play with their super friendly labs. The pool was great super clean and even warm enough to swim.

We took Rebecca's advice on restaurants in Gloucester, all turned out super. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the kitchen supplied with everything you would need. There is so much to see and do in Gloucester that we didn't get out of town.Raye and I and my daughter's family are looking forward to our return.

Thank you Rebecca and Dot for helping us to have a wonderful time

Owner's Response: We loved how Bob and his family were able to take advantage of everything we have to offer as a summer vacation venue: family friendly, private pool, beaches nearly, pet friendly and recommendations on where to eat and where to visit! He has already signed up for next summer - love that!

Owner's Response: What Cathy was not saying is that she is a repeat guest and books with us because she feels 100% at home while staying with us and we love reconnecting with her during her stay.

Beautiful location - very dog friendly!

  • 4 of 5

Rebecca and Dot were wonderful hostesses and the 3 Lab welcoming committee was always happy to see us. The apartment is in a terrific location with Good Harbor beach just a short walk and downtown a 5 min drive. We enjoyed the beautiful swimming pool and the fabulous harbor views from both inside and out.

Looking forward to visiting the Cape Ann peninsula again very soon.

Thanks for great memories.

Beautiful Harbor View/Fantastic Hospitality/Amazing rental

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rebecca and Dot are gracious and generous hosts. The space is so roomy and comfortable and the sunset views of the harbor were amazing. I can't believe how well equipped the kitchen was....everything you could want or need and more. It is close to everything in Gloucester and you can even walk to Good Harbor Beach. We loved that they supplied all the beach extra's like large beach towels, beach chairs, ice chest and even a wagon to pull everything in. It really made packing for the trip so much easier. The pool was a special treat and the landscaping gorgeous. Our 8 year old son was also relieved to learn that he had access to Wifi so he could stay busy on a rainy afternoon. Luckily Rebecca and Dot let our two small pups visit as well making it a true family vacation. We cannot wait to stay again!!!

Owner's Response: Teena and her family made the most of their summer stay even though the weather was not ideal. We try to think of everything our guests will need to help their stay be as perfect as possible. AND we are proudly a very pet friendly property. Teena agrees and loved that and other extra benefits like a private pool, secure WiFi and all the beach accessories you need to enjoy Good Harbor Beach, which is .7m (1Km) away.
