About this property
Antlers - An authentic log cabin experience in the forest at Stag Leap Cabins!
Antlers Log Cabin is truly the crown jewel of our property! This cabin was built by Wayne and Kirby (the owner and his son) using pine logs cut and cured from the property. Two walls of windows allow tons of natural lighting into the main living and dining areas. A huge wrap-around porch high above the forest floor provides ample opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
Antlers is the perfect cabin for a family gathering or getaway with friends. It has a large main room with two leather sofas, a recliner, a large smart TV, two dining tables with seating for at least 10, and a large serving buffet table.
A fully stocked kitchen with a microwave, toaster, refrigerator/freezer, efficiency-sized stove/oven, and coffee pot allows ample space for meal preparation.
This cabin can sleep up to 10 people in beds. It has three bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Foldout pads are available as additional bedding for larger groups with young guests.
The Master Suite has a king bed, desk, chair, nightstand, and smart TV. The private bathroom has a large shower (no tub) and essential toiletries.
The lower bedroom, or "deck suite," has a queen-sized bed, a bathroom with a shower (no tub), and an outdoor jetted Jacuzzi tub on a private deck. Leading into the deck suite is a sunroom with a twin trundle bed, a game hutch, and a smart TV.
The upstairs bedroom is the perfect room for the kids to roost! It has a full bed, two twin-sized beds, and a bath area with a tub (no shower).
A spacious, wrap-around porch with a grill, rocking chairs, patio tables, and chairs provides the perfect setting for gathering with family and friends. During the cooler seasons, guests can sit around the fire pit and enjoy the crisp air and s'mores. A spring-fed creek can be accessed at the bottom of the hill from the cabin, and hiking trails abound for outdoor enthusiasts.
This cabin is centrally heated and cooled; portable fans, tower heaters, and a built-in gas heater are also provided for comfort.
***IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT OUR PROPERTY***
The hot tub, laundry room, and activity field are shared amenities. The hot tub is about 1/4 mile from the Antlers Log Cabin, but as noted above, this cabin does have an outdoor jacuzzi tub. The hot tub may be reserved for an hour of private use; however, you do not have to reserve it to use it. All other amenities are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
We have a NO PETS & NO SMOKING/VAPING policy. Smoking is only allowed outside the cabin, away from open doors and windows. Extra fees will be charged if we determine smoking has occurred inside the cabin.

About the host
Hosted by Sabrina Collins
Wayne and Mattie Collins own the property and still live in the main house, which also serves as the office. They purchased the property in the late 1980s. At the time, it was raw forest land with no improvements, but logging trails throughout the original 200 acres excited their son, Kirby, who was an ATV enthusiast. They were most interested in the property because of its varied terrain, the beautiful, spring-fed creek that runs through it, and its location to their childhood roots.
Kirby and his dad built a bachelor pad for Kirby (now the Treehouse) when he started attending Stephen F. Austin University. Upon Kirby and Sabrina's marriage in 1993, his cabin sat vacant, thus the beginning of the cabin rental business we affectionately call Stag Leap (befitting since the "stag" leapt out of his cabin into marriage).
It is a true family business - Mattie will most likely greet you upon arrival as she really enjoys meeting our guests, Kirby takes care of all the maintenance and grounds, his wife, Sabrina, takes care of all the reservations, and their youngest daughter, Sydney, serves as Kirby's sidekick and helps with accounting and marketing.
Together, we love giving our guests an authentic East Texas experience.

Why they chose this property
Growing up in rural East Texas has given us a deep appreciation for natural settings. We love our tall pine, oak, and hickory trees and the creek that runs through our property. Having a lot of acreage adds to our feeling of safety and privacy and gives us plenty of roaming room.
Being close to Lake Nacogdoches is a real plus, too. We have spent many summers boating on the lake with our children. Stag Leap is an easy drive to both Nacogdoches and Lufkin. Both towns have great downtown areas for shopping and special events, and each offers unique places to visit and explore. We definitely enjoy the small-town feel with many great shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

What makes this property unique
Stag Leap is on a 250+-acre woodland with secluded cabins scattered along the sandy-bottom Bonaldo Creek. We are the perfect getaway for a romantic weekend, family reunions, small group retreats, or extended stays. Our relaxing, cozy, home-like setting doesn't compare to what you'll find in a hotel!
We are close to numerous popular activities and attractions. We are ten minutes from historic downtown Nacogdoches with its brick streets, quaint antique shops, and numerous museums and historical landmarks. A short drive from our property is Stephen F. Austin University, home of the Lumberjacks and its state-recognized azalea gardens, the largest in Texas. Nacogdoches is also a prime destination for pickleball and disc golf enthusiasts, and fishermen love that we are just four miles from Lake Nacogdoches, which provides boating, swimming, fishing, and disc golf opportunities. As part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Pineywood Trail, we also offer excellent opportunities for bird watching and other wildlife without ever leaving our property, so bring your binoculars!
We offer six uniquely decorated cabins that are private and secluded from each other. Our cabins offer various sleeping accommodations and have fully stocked kitchens, free WiFi, satellite television, charcoal grills, and air conditioning. Most have whirlpool Jacuzzi tubs (inside or outside) and electric log fireplaces for a romantic ambience. All linens (sheets, bath towels, washcloths, dish towels) are provided.
A large, centrally located hot tub is available for all guests but may be reserved for private use for an hour at a time. We also offer other amenities and activities such as golf cart rentals, disc golf, basketball, horseshoes, and hiking.
