This is just a great place to take advantage of the races and the river.
We enjoyed restoring the farm and house to make a scenic countryside vacation spot. We stripped down the house and were able to save the old pine floors and ceilings as well as some nostalgia with an old homemade wood stove and some ancient metal shingles. We made some unique furniture out of barn wood and used luthier grade curly maple to make the kitchen cabinets. The plumbing is indoor and modern and the beds and linens are new.
The main level upstairs has 2 bedrooms-- a queen and a daybed with 2 twins, as well as a bath with an extra sink outside. The living room has a sleeper sofa and the small kitchen is on this level.
Downstairs has a King bedroom and a bunkroom along with a family area, laundry and bath with a jacuzzi jetted bathtub. There are decks and a dock to take in the river and this is a great place to finish your float trip. You can pull out your boat or have your guide drop you off right where you are staying since this is the end of the river.
Our farm is where Watauga river becomes Boone lake and is on the edge of Johnson City so you are just minutes from the mall, cinemas and restaurants. It is a quick jump onto the Bristol Highway and you are 12 miles and less than 20 minutes from the race track.
