Special Needs & Autism Review
This charming beach bungalow exceeded our expectations. Two bedrooms with jack-and-jill bathrooms on each side of the home, and open floor plan in the middle. As a family with special needs(non-verbal low function autism), we found this home special needs friendly. In the heart of Hatteras Village, it is one level living, private, and spacious. Extensive extras have been provided by the owners as well. The TVs are set up so we could log into our apps during our stay, and they will reset after you leave. My son having the ability to mirror his iPad on the TV was invaluable since he is very into electronics. It is difficult planning a vacay with special needs. Thus, if you are looking for a home to accommodate a little Houdini or escape artist, you can't go wrong with this one. With a keypad entry system, the main entry doors are locked with a two-step locking system and Keypad deadbolts on the pool door inside the house. There are two doors to the outside from the pool area, one is a sliding glass door (I use shower tension rod to secure) and the other is a regular man door with deadbolt. Fun note, Hatteras Village allows golf carts everywhere during the summer season. There is so much more, but you have to experience it yourself to fully appreciate. If you have any other questions special needs related, feel free to reach out to me on Facebook. Do note, that the owners themselves are very helpful and quick response. Heartfelt thanks to the owners for sharing their home.
