We are truly sorry for the unacceptable conditions you encountered upon your arrival; finding mouse droppings is deeply disappointing and falls far short of the cleanliness standards we require. While this is a rural forested area where mice are not uncommon, the cabin should have been thoroughly inspected before your arrival to prevent this. Regarding our communication, a technical glitch in our messaging system prevented us from seeing your messages until some time after you had departed, which is why we were unable to respond immediately. As soon as the issue was recognized, a full refund was processed right away. We take these matters very seriously and have addressed both our pre-arrival inspection procedures and our messaging systems to ensure this does not happen again.

We provided a phone number for after-hours assistance, which is monitored, but it seems no call was made. We’re sorry to hear the bed wasn’t comfortable for you. It actually isn’t very old, but we know that mattress firmness is a personal preference—what works for one guest might not work for another. We’ll still check to make sure it’s holding up well. We also appreciate you pointing out the condition of the outdoor chairs—we’ll look into replacing those right away. And yes, the driveway can be a little tricky after heavy rain, but we’re glad your 4x4 handled it just fine. As for the bathroom setup—this is a smaller cabin, and the only way we could offer the convenience of a washer and dryer was to place them where space allowed, which ended up being next to the toilet. It’s definitely a tight fit, and we understand that may not be ideal for everyone.
