Excellent modern apartment, perfect for families, very close to the ski lifts
We really enjoyed our stay in this 3 bedroom apartment in Rauris this week. It's proximity to the ski lifts was a key attraction, considering our young children. And we appreciated the small touches in the apartment for kids i.e. the children's plates etc, and the toy box. The dedicated car park underground was also a nice bonus.
As for Rauris as a destination, it was our first time there and can thoroughly recommend it for families with first time skiiers. It even provided enough slopes and variety for ourselves as experienced skiiers. Zell am See is also only 30 minutes drive away and we treated ourselves to a day out there too for more advanced skiing.
Bottom line - we'd definitely return to Rauris for another trip, and be very happy to stay at this exact same apartment. Thanks Nicola!
postcard skiing holiday
Pulling up to the apartment complex in the dark on new years eve was magical. Greeted by festive lighting and seeing glimpses of a steamy spa made the unknown feel instantly warm and welcoming. Our host for the weekend was waiting for our arrival and was contactable throughout the day which was helpful as we were slightly delayed at the airport. Arriving late on new years eve meant that all the shops were closed so we couldn't get any provisions ( a tip for everyone is that the supermarkets close early so be prepared) but we quickly found our bearings and spent our first meal in a true austrian resturant. The next day we started our hoilday properly with the Karl Maier ski school which was directly at the bottom of the slopes.
The ski school is great. quite old school but our crazy irish instructor Eioan was fantastic and made the skiing part of our holiday memorable and fun
we visited stradl restaurant several times and the food was great and we felt it was very good value
the apartment was perfect. always warm and cozy, constant hot water in the plush and modern bathrooms and so well stocked with everything you need away from home. we could not fault it or the lovely views from the balcony. the complex itself is very modern and there is a great spa and pool on site which has attendants at all times and is open until late evening, a great wind down after the rigours of skiing.
all in all we rate the entire village, apartment and complex with 5 gold stars. everything it promised and a beautiful experience that we will always remember.
Thank you so much for your review, we are really pleased that you had such a fantastic time in our apartment and in Rauris over the new year period. We hope to welcome you back to Rauris at some point in the future .
What a Great place to stay!
We are a family of 6.....4 adults and 2 young children.
we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property , and found that it exceeded our expectations in every respect.
The property was on the fist floor with a lift to all levels, including the underground car park with our own nominated car space.
The apartment itself was fitted out to the highest modern standard, and was both comfortable and welcoming.
Both the owners and the local representative were very helpful.
The town of Rauris was also everything that we had hoped for, with very good facilities and atmosphere.
All in all a very good week during Christmas 2017, in 1st class accommodation.
Thank you so much for your feedback, it is very important to us that all guests receive the very best standard of accommodation and service. We are delighted that it exceeded your expectations and that you enjoyed your Christmas holiday in Rauris.
Two week stay in Summer 2016
Very enjoyable holiday in the lovely village of Rauris. Apartment is well equipped, clean and has a lovely view. My only disappointment was the size of the pool and the fact it only opened from 3.00 pm.
There is plenty to do, scenery great and easy reach of Salzburg.
Thanks for your feedback Simon, really pleased you enjoyed all aspects of the apartment. Regarding the pool and opening times, these aspects are out of our control , but I will feed your comments back to the management team. They won't be able to enlarge the pool, but I am sure they will consider the opening hours.
Holiday March 2016
We stayed at this chalet and was very impressed by the place. The apartment had everything we needed and was very spacious. the chalet is located in a great place, it is across the road from the slopes and it is a short walk to the town where you can find shops and restaurants.
The complex where the apartment can be found has a small bar and restaurants with very friendly staff, The food is good and is just want you want after a day on the slopes.
I look forward to straying at the apartment again.
In the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, the breathtaking Rauris valley is perfect for year round getaways for the whole family. The idyllic town boasts stunning views up to the Schönblick Glacier and the wilderness beyond. Rauris is the ideal location for year round outdoor activities and relaxation. It is an adventure sport centre, including skiing, hiking, rafting, mountain biking, mountaineering, paragliding, ice and rock climbing and downhill & cross-country pistes. Footpaths and hiking trails lead directly from the apartment into the countryside through the “Rauriser Urwald” – a primal forest scattered with 80 secluded lakes. In the evening you can also experience the romance of a horse-drawn sleigh ride across crisp, white snows, or the excitement of a moonlight tobogganing adventure. The Hochalm lifts give you access to a ski area that is family friendly and all within 150m of the apartment. The town is also within a 5 minute walk from the apartment.
About Nicola Muckelroy
I am English and reside in the UK, but love to ski with my family in the winter months and also explore, walk and cycle in the mountains in the summer time.
Nicola Muckelroy purchased this Apartment in 2008
Why Nicola Muckelroy chose Rauris
Rauris is a beautiful place, stunning scenery in every direction, friendly locals and so many things to do for all family members on the doorstep or within a short drive. We never tire of visiting and find something new every time we visit. We purchased this property off-plan and furnished it with an attention to detail and to a very high luxury standard, which is regularly maintained to ensure our guests have the best possible experience when staying with us. The close proximity to the ski lifts and the village was another factor which made us purchase this apartment.
What makes this Apartment unique
Nothing beats waking up to cow bells ringing, crisp clean mountain air and stunning views...then taking a shower in fresh mountain spring water, albeit endlessly warmed by the local 'eco-friendly' heating plant, really sets you up for a day of adventure or sometimes just relaxation and wellness.
