A little bit of heaven on earth...

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a glorious weekend at Brett's cabin. The house was immaculate and well-appointed, and Brett couldn't have been nicer or more buttoned-up about the whole process. Scientists Cliffs is a wonderful spot: The beach goes on for miles, the people are super-friendly, and best of all, the view is spectacular -- from sunrise to daytime through the moon rising over the Chesapeake Bay. We'll be back...

When you really need peace and tranquility...

  • 5 of 5

This precious, well-appointed and spaciously small cabin has everything you need or could want to replenish or restore your inner peace of mind. Just bring your food and beverages, park your car and disappear into the extreme beauty of the endless water and lush greenery. Everything is here for your comfort and relaxation including books, TiVo, artwork, lovely places to sit and to eat, sweet little bathtub and cozy little kitchen. Bring your favorite movies on DVD and music on CD. And if you want to walk but don't feel like hiking... this tucked away little neighborhood is pure heaven. Brett himself is an angel and you can feel his blessing you all throughout his home. I hope to come back here again and again.

Charming Rustic Cabin - Great Location, Great Views!

  • 4 of 5

I have rented twice at the Navy Cabin, and thoroughly enjoyed staying there each time. This is not your 'time share style' ordinary decor sort of place - it is clearly owned and loved by someone that keeps their own things here, and it gives the place real personality. The great room and deck make a perfect spot for a relaxed getaway. The rest of the house is simple and totally adequate - don't go expecting a luxurious bath or gourmet kitchen or sumptuous master suite - this is a charming (modernized) log cabin. It has easy access to the beach, where there is good fossil hunting and early summer swimming.

Hike the well kept trails in the American Chestnut Land Trust. Go to Stoney's Broom Island for crab cakes and frozen cocktails. Watch from the front deck as Eagles and Ospreys dive into the bay to catch fish. Drive down to Solomons Island for the Maritime Museum and a sense of the history of this area. This area is a well hidden little slice of heaven, and with mosquitoes too.

I highly recommend the Navy Cabin for a relaxing break from the bustle of the city (that would Philadelphia for me...). Down here, one lives moment to moment with the weather - not to a schedule and in spite of it. Enjoy!

Owner's Response: It sounds like you got to see some amazing wildlife from the deck overlooking the water! Eagles, Ospreys and other birds are often seen in the area, and fossilized shark's teeth can sometimes be found on the beach. I'm so glad you found the cabin to be a "little slice of heaven." Come back again.

gorgeous waterfront cabin

  • 5 of 5

We were blown away by the amazing water views from inside and especially on the spacious deck of this charming cabin. The home is full of character and warmth. We brought food for our long weekend stay and never found a need to get in our car! If you are looking for a peaceful, serene place and amazing sunrises -- this is the place for you. And no fighting beach traffic!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. I'm so glad you were able to relax and take in the water views available both inside and outside of the cabin. The sunrises are particularly beautiful when viewed from the coziness of the upstairs twin bed.
