Long weekend break with the family
We stayed at the villa for 3 nights and had a lovely experience. The villa is huge and has a palace like feel. Each bedroom has an on suite with air conditioning and the villa has loads of spaces and areas for people to chill and relax- even an entertainment room! :)
The pool is slightly on the smaller scale, however completely private and not overlooked at all.
Our maid Karima and chef Hana where lovely and very punctual. Food was served on time every day. We opted for all inclusive, so had breakfast, lunch and dinner. Portions were on the smaller side, however very tasty. We also got desert after lunch and dinner. A meal planner or some type of menu would be helpful, as we did not know what we were going to eat each day.
Within the complex in the communal areas are basketball, tennis, table tennis and archery which we made full use of free of charge and enjoyed it very much.
Overall, we all had a lovely time at the villa and would recommend it to family and friends.
A relaxing base to explore the bedlam of Morocco
A great holiday and wonderfully looked after by Karima and her sister. Catering for a vegetarian proved a little challenging but they tried hard.
A car is 100% required but this then allows you to explore much more than just Marrakesh.
Nice house, great and friendly staff. Loved everything about it.
(Btw, do not try to rely on GPS when driving around town - doesn't work)
Really pleased that you loved your stay and the team do work hard to make sure our clients have an enjoyable holiday. ( yes driving can be fun :) )
Property is worth every penny and the staff are extremely polite and always smiling...
Other than minor things that could have being avoided with better communication the property is worth every penny and the staff are extremely polite and always smiling. I would recommend to rent a car BUT AVOID DRIVING IN THE MEDINA (the old city) cause having a driver 24-7 can get price.
Our 3 children and us have spent a very nice time
The property was very comfortable; with 3 bedroom with immense luxurious bathrooms (1 separated).
The garden was so interesting with lemon and olive trees and roses and of course the private pool. The living room was maybe a little bit smaller in comparison to the other rooms; but fine.
The housekeeper was really helpful and discret.
We had a wonderful holiday and family time.
Well appointed, spacious, charming and welcoming stay at El Hara
We had a truly lovely family holiday at this charming villa just outside Marrakesh. We were with our two young children (6 and 4) and wanted a relaxing week in the sun before the Winter chills came! The position of the villa was perfect for our needs - plenty of space, cool shady areas for when the sun was hot (which thankfully it was for most of the week), pool, privacy and the luxury of not having to cook or wash up provided by the wonderful housekeeper and her sister. The rooms are huge and airy and tastefully decorated with Moroccan furnishings which gives you a sense of place. There are also lovely quiet areas where you can escape and read a good book! The pool was a huge hit especially with the children and we were all in it at least twice a day. Gardens are walled to give you total privacy and well-tended giving you a lush oasis. All our needs were taken care of by the lovely Karima and her sister. She organised two trips into the city for us and, having two fussy eaters in our party, Karima was able to cater to their more 'pizza and nuggets' palette! The gardens form a network around the centre of the villas which are lovely to take a stroll around in the morning or early evening - so peaceful and beautiful with lime and olive trees in abundance. Our two trips into the centre of Marrakesh were great fun. We were not sure how our two children would react to such a totally different city experience but they found the old Medina and Souks fascinating and the street sellers and vendors, whilst being very friendly and trying to get us to buy things, were also respectful and made the whole trip a lot of fun. We had been to Marrakesh twice before (before having children) and we were pleased to see that some of our favourite eateries were still there - Terrasse des Espices in the Souks and The Old Post Office in the New Town. All in all a superb week in a lovely villa, delicious food, warm weather, with happy and entertained children (the pool) and looked after so well by Karima. I hope we will be back.
Marrakech is a city in the grip of a delirious imagination. A feverish dream scape of honeycombed alleys and minarets quivering in the moonlight and haunted by the restless creatures of a visionary carnival that has lasted for a thousand years and shows no sign of stopping now. Marrakech is one of the worlds enchanted places where time becomes suspended and, through its open door, you catch a glimpse of the past so rich and so remote and yet so palpable.
The Marrakech Royal Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Morocco, it is constantly being renovated and improved and it also happens to be one of His Majesty King Hassan ll's favorite courses.
It is situated at the feet of the snow-covered Atlas mountains and is embellished by a profusion of cypress, eucalyptus, palm, olive, orange and apricot trees.
It is an 'English style' course with strategically placed bunkers protecting its greens and testing tall trees and palms.
Other Activities: Quad Bike On the Lake (2h) + Lunch
Golf: Riads in Marrakech : The Golf d’Amelkis is the third most important golf course in Marrakech, and is located on km. 12 on the Route de Ouarzazate. The course comprises 27 holes, with a 72 par and a total length of 6.657 meters. It was created by the landscape architect Cabell B. Robinson and is quite probably the most visually striking course in the city.
The round is rather technique, possibly the most technique among the three golf courses in Marrakech, and enjoys numerous bunkers and artificial lakes. There are very few trees along the course, just a few palm trees here and there, but it has a nice atmosphere that seduces and challenges golfers of all levels.
The course is stimulative challenging, quite hilly, dented, with multiple blind starts, pitfalls to be avoided at every hole and 7 lakes judiciously laid out, as well as picturesque bunkers made of crushed red bricks. There are three rounds with a total of 27 holes, although there is a project for an extension of 9 holes, which will result in a total of 36 holes. The Blue round is 3.156 meters long, the Red round 3.141 meters, and the Green round, 3.170 meters.
This course is only 10 minutes from the Villas in Marrakech on the Domaine Akhdar and can be booked directly from your villa and we can arrange private transport, caddy and lunch.
