I stayed at Rob's property with a group totaling 10 people. Although we never actually met face to face, he was available by phone or email at any point. The house had ample space to accommodate the large group size between the four bedrooms and available couch space. Beyond that, I'll try to be brief; the summer house / oversized patio / fire pit / dock / water are all amazing. The pictures don't really do the property justice for the amount of fun that can be had in a variety of ways. The house is cozy, but keep in mind there is no central A/C, so it can get pretty warm in the summer. Thankfully, the nights were relatively cool, there's a number of box fans available to circulate air, and windows are abundant.
Standish itself isn't much to see if you're touring, but a 35 minute drive from Portland (actually a really nice, small port city) makes it a great location. We also drove to Boston for a day (~2.5 hours), as well as Acadia National Park (~3.5 hours). All-in-all, it was the perfect location for my group's needs for the 4th of July.
I would definitely recommend staying here, and look forward to again should I ever return to Maine.
