Reconnect with nature and refresh your spirit at our charming riverfront log cabin, nestled in the serene mountains of North Carolina. With 3 cozy bedrooms, including a downstairs master suite and two spacious loft bedrooms, our cabin comfortably accommodates a strict maximum of 6 guests. This intentional limit makes the property perfect for romantic getaways, small groups, or intimate family retreats looking for a peaceful, uncluttered escape. Inside, enjoy a relaxing ambiance with a classic wood-burning furnace, central air and heat for comfort year-round, and high-speed Wi-Fi to keep you connected. The living area is stocked with books, a Smart TV with an old-school DVD player, and comfortable spaces ideal for unwinding after a day exploring the outdoors. Step outside onto the panoramic deck overlooking your own private waterfall, an exceptional feature that provides the perfect backdrop for sipping morning coffee or stargazing at night. Enjoy the soothing sounds of cascading water, or gather around the firepit for memorable evenings roasting marshmallows and sharing stories. Relax in rocking chairs or the swinging couples' chair as you take in the peaceful, creekside atmosphere.
The cabin is perfectly positioned alongside the Reddies River, renowned locally for its stocked rainbow trout fishing - beginners and seasoned fisher alike find success here (locals recommend corn as bait!). While there are no official trails, guests love walking along the riverbank or exploring nearby gravel roads.
Our location offers easy access to notable attractions and events: grocery stores and restaurants (including our favorite local Mexican spot, Plaza Del Sol) are just 15-20 minutes away. Many guests book stays around local music festivals such as MerleFest, Brushy Mountain Apple Festival, and Carolina in the Fall Festival. You're also within easy reach of the Blue Ridge Parkway, Scott Kerr Lake, Appalachian Ski Resort (1 hour), Boone/Appalachian State University (45 minutes), Linville Caverns (1.5 hours), and Asheville's Biltmore Estate (2 hours).
We provide everything you need (including linens, towels, kitchen utensils, and a coffee machine) to ensure your stay is stress-free. Discover why guests return year after year for the ultimate getaway: relaxation, family bonding, and unforgettable connections with nature.

Cabin was a beautiful place! My complaint was the road to the cabin. Yes, I understand you're in the woods & things will happen. The road could stand a little maintenance & trimming of overgrowth. I have a few scratches on my vehicle. Complaint #2, housekeeping needs to be a little more thorough. Found trash under our bed & other little things could of been better. The cabin was perfect for what we wanted & enjoyed our stay. The waterfalls were beautiful & so peaceful. Would definitely go back again!

Cons (in my opinion, some will love this): This is a very remote and rustic cabin that should come with notice, PRIOR TO BOOKING, that the "driveway" is about a mile long and you would benefit by driving a 4WD. Takes a little over 10 minutes just to get up and down the drive. Our cars were low and scrubbed in many places that had washed out. Tried to straddle but you only had so much room to navigate. The drive alone is enough to prevent me from renting again. The cabin could definitely use a bit more cleaning and TLC, We found a half drank soda can in the window sill, beside the downstairs bedroom. Dirty towels left hanging on the back of the door. Bathrooms are very small but they serve their purpose.Kitchen was pretty well stocked for cooking and preparing meals. However, the setting is beautiful. The waterfall is the highlight of this cabin. If you are looking to sit by the water or on the deck the entire trip, you have hit the jackpot.
I would let the renters know how far they will be going down the driveway. But the cabin is great. That’s exactly what we were looking for, to get a break from work and reality. It’s right on the water. Turn off your phones and enjoy nature and each other. Great place.
My son and I had a great time. We really enjoyed the river. We never did get any bites (fishing) but it was just nice being outside with the sound of the river and small falls. I will say that when they mention wanting to have an all wheel drive or 4x4 when the weather isn’t sunny and dry, we made it back to the cabin in a Honda Odyssey in low and had no trouble. Would definitely recommend.
Love this cabin, always clean and plenty to do. Beautiful view and the creek is an absolute plus and building a fire in the fire pit. Always family time at this cabin.
We had a wonderful time at this riverfront cabin! The location is excellent — peaceful, scenic, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cabin sits in a beautiful spot right by the water, and we really enjoyed the nature walks and quiet surroundings. The place was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. The host was very quick to respond to any questions and made the stay smooth and comfortable.Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to unwind in nature!
Nice cabin and with beautiful view of waterfall. Only drawback to this property is the 3/4 mile drive from main road to the cabin. If it is snowing or raining hard, I would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
This was our second stay at the Blue River Cabin. It is a lovely, private spot in the woods that feels "off the grid" but offers electricity, plumbing and high speed internet! My family had a wonderful time fishing in the river. Thank you for allowing us to vacation in your delightful cabin!
So many things to mention…fishing and playing in the river, relaxing on the porch, roasting marshmallows by the fire, enjoying the privacy and seclusion of the property (we literally saw no other people while we were there), fully stocked kitchen, linens provided. I could go on and on. We will definitely be back to Blue River Cabin! Thank you for sharing your place with us!
Our family had an awesome time down by the river. The cabin was very clean. An excellent place to connect with nature. Will definitely go back next summer.

Why they chose this property
When we first saw this cabin and its surroundings we were stunned by the beauty and magnificence there. It looked like something you would only see in a painting. It is truly a hidden paradise that we have found.
What makes this property unique
The energetic river is very soothing to gaze at and to listen to. The motion of the river seems to relax the mind, body, and soul. Truly a unique part of staying at our cabin.
