New 2/2 Log Cabin, Rushing Trout Stream, Hot Tub, Fireplace, 8 Acres, WiFi
Elk Creek Retreat is a brand new two bedroom (both master bedrooms), two bath cabin on a rushing trout stream and 8 acres. If you are looking for a stream side cabin you will not find a better location anywhere. Elk Creek Retreat is located on Elk Creek which has excellent trout fishing, is a State stocked trout stream, and is rated as the second cleanest stream in all of North Carolina. Open the windows and fall asleep to the sound of the stream which runs directly behind the cabin. Amenities include hot tub, Wi-Fi, fireplace, grill, outdoor fire pit, and plenty of decking that overlooks the stream. The location is convenient to both Boone and Blowing Rock both within about a 25 minute drive.
We really enjoyed the cabin and the location. The only issues were the host was not quickly responsive (the day of, someone should be available to answer within an hour or so for incoming guests); we messaged early on asking about the indoor/outdoor fireplaces (whether they were gas or firewood), we received a message that indoor was gas and outdoor was wood, when we arrived there was a note that you could pay for firewood for the outdoor fireplace (and it was not available on the property, you had to message someone to deliver it). I feel this should have been addressed when I asked about the fireplaces, so we could bring our own wood with us. Also, there was an error code on the hot tub, but there were no instructions in the house on how to fix it. We had to google it and eventually got it figured out. Other than that, no issues. We had a great time. We did fish the stream but did not catch anything - we walked several 100 yards in each direction.
Well bill nice gal but need new housekeeper for sure floors sandy and hot tub was trashed by previous renters we love it there we go only for the sound of the creek coffee and the peaceful Serenity!!! Would definitely comeback!! Again this was our second time not impressed this go!!
This was an absolutely a gorgeous place to stay. All facilities are new and in great condition. Secluded and restful. We found it to be just right from activities and shopping. We would really like to consider for a summer stay. The creek and outdoors would be would be great for a family. Pet friendly was a plus for us too. I highly recommend this house!!!!! We had no issues.
We did not skiBut we went on plenty adventures from the house. My friends and I had a great time. Love the river love the fire pit. Thank you for letting us stay.
Cabin was private. Located on a beautiful lot. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. My biggest concern was the sharp curves on the winding road getting to and from the the cabin to and from 421. I was not accustomed to driving on this type of mountain roads. As a result, I learned how to use manual drive and paddles on my Subaru Outback.
It was very quiet and peaceful. Everything was clean and working. Home is well appointed with nice furnishings. The stream is easy to access and gorgeous. Our dog also loved the property which had lots of space for chasing a ball. It was perfect for a weekend getaway!
So relaxing! We loved this cabin. It was clean and comfortable and perfect for a long weekend. My husband and I and our two dogs had a fabulous time. We roamed the vast yard and played in the creek. The road to get there is a bit twisty but was still close for us to visit our son at App State. The bed was comfy and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. This would be a great place for adults to relax or families with kids to play. It was perfect for our dogs. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
We had a great stay. Creek was wonderful and peaceful sounding. Our kids had fun with the hot tub. Would love to come again!! Plenty of parking and a lot of place around the house. Everything was great! We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you soooo much!
Nice cabin with comfortable beds and well appointed kitchen. My lab loved the stream behind the house. The fireplace went on the first time but not on my next tries. This location is very remote and even though the mileage to Boone is minimal it is a very slow and twisty road. It took about 20 minutes to get to the main road. We did not use the hot tub.
