About Frazier Worth

We have lived here for about 20 years. We completed the Cottage in 2012. Jenny is a family physician. I am a teacher. We have 2 children, one recently graduated from college and the other in college.

Frazier Worth purchased this cottage in 1994

Why Frazier Worth chose Fairview

The Cottage is in a quiet pastoral, farming community. We like the privacy and peace we find here. We've spent a lot of time working on the gardens, flowers, and landscaping. You can pick raspberries in the morning to put on your cereal and have fresh lettuce on your sandwich at lunch.

What makes this cottage unique

The Cottage is our project. We designed it to be very comfortable for a couple. It is simple but elegant with everything you could need. There is a lot of light, front porch and deck, and internet.

I love this cottage

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here last year and had to return again this year. It’s in the most beautiful location and easy access to Asheville. I cannot wait to return again next year.

Good overall.

  • 3 of 5

We didn’t spend much time in the cottage but it was nice and clean. Bed was comfortable. Upon arrival the cottage was covered with flies, ladybugs, and a few wasps (so there may be some sort of sealing issue somewhere). The second morning we were woken by many vultures all over the roof, which was kind of unexpected as well. Other than that everything was fine. Hosts were very pleasant in our brief encounters with them. You could tell that in the spring/summer the gardens would be beautiful.

Quaint and Quiet Cottage

The cottage was the perfect size for our stay. Love the views and the horses were enjoyable to watch. The cottage had everything we needed.

Back for more!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay in this quiet little cabin. The surroundings--landscaped yard, lovely woods, horses in the pasture--are peaceful and beautiful. The cabin is small but makes great use of the space, with lots of natural light and a back deck. The spiral staircase can be intimidating (our dog wanted no part of it) or can make you feel like a kid escaping to a secret retreat. Owners give you your space but are readily accessible if needed.

Beautiful private cottage close to Asheville

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Garden Cottage for a few days. We had a great time just hanging out in the cottage and had everything we needed. The owners have 3 horses and beautiful pasture with great views. We didn’t see the owners much over the weekend, but they were very friendly and accommodating and you can tell they have put a lot of work into their cottage. The cottage is in a quiet, secluded area in Fairview. We had no trouble getting to Asheville and finding great trails nearby to hike. We will definitely stay at the Garden Cottage when we visit Asheville again...next time with our dog!

A perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

A totally charming cottage in an ideal setting for privacy and relaxation. Once our dog got over her fear of the spiral staircase to the bedroom she enjoyed it also. Especially enjoyed the 3 resident horses. You look over the deck and see 3 tails swishing peaking out from beneath the cottage. A pleasant surprise. Would definitely stay again.

We are located 20 min SE of Asheville. Asheville sights include The Biltmore House, Blue Ridge Parkway(10 min. away), eccentric, vibrant downtown with shopping, music and excellent restaurants.

Closer to our home there are quiet country lanes for walking and beautiful countryside.

Asheville has become a fine dining destination with too many fine restaurants to count. We love to go out ourselves and we can guide you to many of the best restaurants. Asheville also has many local beer breweries, making Asheville a great place to sample the best of independent brewing. Downtown is alive until all hours of the night with many coffee shops and bars many of which offer entertainment.

We also enjoy hiking in the area or just going to a local swimming hole in a beautiful creek or one of several rivers in the area. Rafting and canoeing are easy options here, also biking on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Rock climbing is also available at nearby Chimney Rock State Park.
