About Joel and Krystal Baum
Welcome to Rand Creek Ranch, a small family-owned and operated guest ranch located in Wapiti, Wyoming between Cody, Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park. Joel and Krystal met in the mountains of Idaho many years ago, and since then the west has always remained a special place. They decided it was time for a life change and to bring their family here to the Northfork of the Shoshone River to where they now call home.
Joel and Krystal Baum purchased this Cabin in 2009

Just what we needed
We stayed at Rand Creek Ranch three nights as a part of a larger family vacation to the Yellowstone area. We loved every single second there. The cabin was clean, well furnished, and comfortable. Kristal and Joel were so kind to us, and were always working to enhance our experience. We adored their family dogs, especially Lena, who was super affectionate with my kids. Their horses are well trained for the trail, and their wranglers were very professional and fun to be around. There was always a bucket of breakfast food on the porch in the morning and a campfire at night. The property was so beautiful, and situated between Cody and Yellowstone. Our only regret was not staying more of our trip there!
Beautiful area! We enjoyed Cody! This is a place to get away from it all. The room was clean, but no tv, sparse internet connection, no air conditioning, very minimal kitchen necessities. We enjoyed seeing Wyoming and having a light breakfast brought to the door every morning was nice.
Glad you enjoyed your stay! As far as tv and air conditioning, we do not advertise that either of those are available and unfortunately living remotely we do not get the best wi fi. We do the best we can!
Yellowstone - East Gate
Rand Creek Ranch was phenomonal.
Great continental breakfast served to your cabin, fantastic views, good local hiking. Our dog loved Joel and Crystal’s 3 working ( and very social) dogs.
Bonfires at night we’re a good finish to great days at Yellowstone and Cody.
Great place to stay.
Beautiful Views and Warm Hospitality
Our family stayed for 4 nights in a delightful cabin on the property, it was close to a small pond that entertained our active 13 & 10 year olds. We all enjoyed the paddle boat and canoe and the kids pulled out a whole bunch of fish! The horse back ride was a dream come true for our kids, and the staff were personable, helpful, and made us feel at home. We loved starting out the morning with a breakfast basket everyday, filled with home made muffins, juice and other snacks, then ending the day with a group campfire, getting to know the other visitors. The location is close enough to Cody and an easy drive to Yellowstone Park. We found plenty to do and see in both directions.
We hope to visit the cabin again some day. This was a vacation that we all will talk about for a long time. Thank you to all the staff for making our vacation the best one to date!
We LOVE reading reviews like these! Glad to hear your family made some great memories to last a life time. Hope to see you again in the future! Thank you for coming!
Very nice & quiet ranch with everything you need -and a beautiful view!!!
Located half way between Cody, WY and the East Gate of Yellowstone. Cody has museums, rodeos, white water rafting, restaurants, shopping, and western musical reviews. Here at the ranch enjoy fishing, kayaking, paddle boating on our private pond, horse shoes, horse back riding, hiking, evening camp fires and beautiful mountain views. Enjoy Yellowstone park, which sells itself! Beautiful scenic drives.
