About Roslyn Holloway
Moved to France about 25 years ago. Just love it. For many years I travelled between Bath in England and back. I was an estate agent in Central London for many years and an interior designer. Eventually decided to move to France permanently and sold up in England and bought two houses in Sablet in 2001.
Roslyn Holloway purchased this House in 2001
Why Roslyn Holloway chose Sablet
Sablet was a village I really did not know but when I sold my house in the Drome it made sense to move to a more central location. Sablet is just perfect, such a good location to visit Provence and well served by airports and train stations. I am such a fan of this village, it has everything and more. Les Roseraies has just the most perfect views, protected from the Mistral and I just fell in love with the house.
What makes this House unique
I completely redesigned the house and redecorated in all of five months as I had my first clients for Christmas. So worth it, with the little courtyard outside for parking a small car. But it is honestly the views across the roof tops to the mountains and having the sun rise and the sun sets are worth their weight in gold. Not a single complaint in 18 years, so I must be doing something right!!

Lovely view from an adorable place in Sablet...close to wineries
Perfect place to stay in an ideal town
Simply fantastic property—charming, well maintained, great kitchen, and above all a wonderful view from the kitchen and deck! Sablet itself is an ideal town from which to explore the area: Quiet and historical, but with everything you might. need during your stay close at hand (including a great bakery). Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
A Provence Gem
Les Roseraies was exactly what we were looking for: the village experience in Provence. Sablet was the perfect spot for us because it's intimate, close to the sites we wanted to see without being in one of the bigger cities, easy access, and stunning views of the Dentelles to the east and the vineyards to the west. Parking was safe, convenient and free in the nearby town square.
The very clean home is tucked in with other 400 year old town dwellings, giving us a sense of being part of the community. The great boulangerie/patisserie offered superior bread and pastries for a town this size, the nearby market store was surprisingly well-stocked; both shops reflected the kindness and pride of ownership of family businesses. Even the wood-fired pizzas from the bar were well worth devouring.
Les Roseraies was well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay, linens, cooking/eating utensils, appliances, cleaning products and extensive local information resources. The picture taken from the deck off the kitchen is accurate: it's perhaps the best view of the Dentelles in the Rhone! This is our favorite place to hang out.
Ros was a delight to deal with, before and during and was a very capable resource.
Be prepared for stairs from the (very close) town square where the cars are parked, and steps inside the house from entry to bedroom and again to the kitchen/dining/deck. Easy and well worth it.
We would love to stay again and would recommend it to our friends.
Everything about our stay in Provence was made perfect by our stay at Les Roseraies. The house had everything, from ideal location and best view in Sablet, to the Rose' Wine, juice and milk that were waiting for us upon our arrival. The house had everything to make the visit a home away from home. Our delightful hostess Roslyn was especially accommodating and helpful with our daily trip planning. Easy parking, a bakery one minute away, grocery store a minute and a half and a pizza pub, sports bar, two minutes away. What more could you ask for? We would have liked to stay forever! Grab this place!
Very special and highly recommendable also in November
At the beginning of November we spent another week in this cosy house – coming back for the 2nd time this year after a most wonderful week in May. We can only recommend to visit the Provence also at this time of the year – life is much quieter and more relaxed and you are surrounded by the beautiful autumnal colouring of the different trees and of the many vineyards. There is lots to do from taking beautiful walks through the colourful landscape, going truffle hunting and learning about this very special local product to be followed by a delicious truffle meal with local wine. The weekly markets were just as diversified as in summer and are always worth a visit. Local attractions are less crowded and can be enjoyed at leisure and in tranquility. Ros has again been the most perfect and caring host and become a real friend. You simply cannot ask for more – this place is a 100% recommendation all year round.
Sablet is in the center of the Cotes de Rhone region, full of excellent wines to taste and buy. Probably Gigondas, Vacqueras, Cairanne and Beaumes de Venise are the famous caves but all within a ten minute drive. Orange, 20 minutes, boasts an amphitheatre with classical performances during the summer months. Carpentras, 20 minutes, has the only synagogue in the area. The Dentelles de Montmirail are famous for climbing and walking. Mont Ventoux for also walking and cycling for the brave of heart. Rivers, swimming pools close by and above all Vaison la Romaine full of ancient remains, Provencal market every Tuesday which is a delight to the eye and the stomach. Thriving town and a joy in the evenings just to wander and chose a menu of your choice. Villedieu, 10 minutes, excellent tapas in the evenings under the Plane trees to the sound of the village fountain. Music in the bars around the area, always colourful always something to do.
Other Activities: Great for climbers.
