3 Bedroom 2 Bath With Lakefront View
About Gaynell Leonard
My family grew up spending weekends and summers at another summer home in this area (Near Hwy 11 bridge). Great times and memories. Their was always something to do for the kids - crabbing, fishing, swimming, boating and skiing. The adults can just sit back, relax and enjoy the breeze and watch the sunset. Our original summer home was destroyed by a Hurricane in 2002 and after years of searching we found this house in 2010. Let new memories continue for your family as they have for ours.
Gaynell Leonard purchased this House in 2010
Why Gaynell Leonard chose Slidell
We love this area since it is so peaceful to be overlooking the beautiful Lake Pontchartrain where we can enjoy fishing , crabbing , boating or just hanging out with friends and family ! Easy access to anything we want to do or to just enjoy doing nothing !
What makes this House unique
This property is not on a canal or inlet, its on the lake itself. The view is incredible, the breeze and fresh air are second to none. We have 380 foot pier that extends over Lake Pontchartrain and has a boat deck on the end of it. Great for fishing, crabbing, swimming, boating or whatever your passion may be.

We stayed just 3 nights but fell in love with the area. The house provided easy access & a short distance to New Orleans. Everything that we needed was provided including crab pots that the our kids LOVED! Owners were great!
Thank you so much for your kind review! So glad you enjoyed your stay ! We try hard to make sure our guests are comfortable and have a relaxing time ! Thanks for taking such good care of our Lake House! That is greatly appreciated! Please come visit again , we would love to have you !!
Amazing relaxing home
Great time !
Had a great time. Great location
Great camp on the water. Great people to rent from. Will definitely rent again. If you want to get away but still be close to restaurants and shopping this is a great place to do it in.
Thanks for taking time to share your thoughts on our Lake House! Our goal is to have our guests relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery while having the comforts of home and still have the opportunity to fish and crab if they wish ! We are happy you enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you as our guests again ! Sincerely , Gaynell
We stayed at the lake house with our 4 teenagers. Everyone had their own bed—a huge plus, and my daughter had a separate room from the boys—a huge plus for her.
The lake house is great. Very comfortable, plenty of the things from home you need, but don’t want to bring-paper towels, spices, coozies, dish soap, towels, dishwasher tablets, etc. It is very well outfitted with extra blankets and pillows. We used both the heat and A/C during the week and were thankful for both.
There are multiple crab traps and nets to use and the whole family loved catching crab. (Singular. We were really bad at it) but it was so fun.
The house sits on a quiet road away from New Orleans. It was great to come home after battling crowds all day downtown. There is a grill and kettle to use to cook food. Plenty of plates, dishes, crockpots etc.
The owners were great about check in and out. Gave us some wonderful ideas for local dining. My deposit has already been returned as I write this.
This is probably our sixth VRBO stay across the country and I can’t think of a single thing to add to this house.
We made the right choice!
A friend and I brought our 17 y/o sons to New Orleans for a little sightseeing along with some deep sea fishing off the coast in Venice. We intended to stay in New Orleans, but came across this property which was more reasonably priced than what we were seeing with comparable homes in New Orleans. Looking at the pictures, the property seemed to be its own little getaway in itself so we thought the extra drive into New Orleans would be worth it. We were right! In fact, we enjoyed our time here so much that we took a pass on a day of activities just to hang out at this house and let the boys trap crab and fish. It was a great decision and the boys had a blast! I only wish we would have brought some of their friends along because there was plenty of room to spare!
Now down to brass tacks...The house was stocked with a good deal of pots, pans and dishes for us to prepare our own meals. There was an abundance of clean towels and wash cloths as well. The entire place is both clean and well kept. Not all homes are comfortable, but this is a comfortable home! The common areas are equal parts relaxing and enjoyable. The home feels peaceful. The owner, Gaynell, is both kind & thoughtful and truly wants her guests to enjoy themselves. She makes herself available at all times and was very sincere in communicating that if there were any problems she would solve them immediately. She takes what she does very seriously and it shows. She genuinely seems to be a very good person.
There's not much else to say. We made the right choice staying here. Also, as nice as the pictures are, they don't begin to do justice to the views. Especially the sunsets! Perhaps we just got lucky with the days we were there, but just wow!
Laisser le bon temps rouler
Everything was as i expected, would definitely book again.
