Welcome to Cherry Ridge. Located just outside the town of Warren, PA, Cherry Ridge is in the heart of the beautiful Allegheny National Forest. Guests will be lodged on site at our spacious and cozy mountain top lodge. It's traditional log cabin styling and its large modern kitchen make for a roomy comfortable atmosphere with all the comforts of home. Our guests love to sit in front of the huge fireplace discussing the days' adventures before retiring for the evening to their rooms with comfortable full size beds and large private bathrooms.
In 2004-2006 I built our lodge to house fall deer and elk hunters and realized they wanted to come back and enjoy the scenery in the other seasons of the year and now newly opened Cherry Ridge to other vacationing guests.
Joseph White purchased this lodge in 2006
Surrounded by the Allegheny National Forest this property has everything for the outdoor enthusiast. Hiking, biking, horseback riding, atving, you name it, we have the room to enjoy.
Our guests are welcome to explore and photograph our private elk and deer herd, or take a kayak paddling down the Allegheny River, fish the local trout streams, horseback ride or pedal a mountainbike on our many mountain trails
I have held off leaving a review for so long because was fearful of being listed as a bad reviewer but I must say.
Was extremely disappointed with this property.
We had a family reunion of about approximately 14 people including small children and 2 small'ish dogs.
We chose this property due to the seeming rustic, remote feel of the property and that it all was. However, upon our arrival we learned that the dogs were only allowed in the walk-in basement portion of the house, not up on the main floor or the top floor. Found out that the property was advertised as being on several acres only to come to find out that the entire main property is completely fenced by, like, a 10 foot electric wire fence that keeps their hunted elk in pens. Came to find out that the all of the finishes for the bedrooms were old, hand-me-down furniture and linens. I t was disgusting. I was honestly afraid to touch or sleep under anything. But probably close to the worst were the kitchens chairs. They were all mixed chairs which was fine but we refused to use any that were suede fabric because they were stained from years of use. They were absolutely disgusting. The kitchen was pretty darned nice and the house as a whole was indeed beautiful but it is my impression that the owner spent a million on the house and shopped in bargain stores or simply used donated or old things from their owns houses to furnish the property.
Spent an extended golf weekend at the Cherry Ridge Lodge and I can't say enough great things about it. This place is in excellent condition and allows for a variety of uses for several people. We had 20 golfers spend the weekend and never once felt crowded. There was enough seating in the kitchen for us to all have dinner together. Would definitely recommend this for a golfers getawayand we have already scheduled our 2016 golf getaway. Joe is a first class host and nows the area like no other. I can see this place being used for a Girls getaway, golf trip, family reunion, etc. Put Cherry Ridge on your bucket list.....it's a must!!
Our New Year get away was simply the best. We had 10 families of friends including 3 dogs, and everyone felt at home.
The lodge is an exquisitely welcoming place, perfectly clean, equipped and loaded to the very little item. All bedrooms are impeccable, carpeted, each with its own bathroom and very comfortable mattresses and pillows. We all slept great there. The kitchen has 4 refrigerators, 2 microwaves and 2 stoves/ovens - one gas and one electrical. There is plenty of room in the kitchen to accommodate over 25 people at the tables at once - we had 19 adults and could have easily fit 10 more. Everything one might need in the kitchen, was there, including slow cookers, a mixer, a double coffee maker, a dishwasher and all the cleaning supplies.
The main living room would satisfy the most picky visitor with its cathedral ceiling, huge panel of windows, welcoming comfortable furniture next to the impressive fireplace and a large plasma TV.
There is another walk-out living room on the first level, that is very cozy, warm, has plenty of seating and its own fridge, a microwave, a fireplace and a TV set. There is also a separate laundry room which we used for the swim suits after having a lifetime of fun in an outside hot tub :))
The location of the lodge is so scenic, secluded and safe that you simply don't want to leave the premises, exploring the yard. Although, there are many attractions quite nearby - we enjoyed hiking and our dogs loved the grounds. The wilderness kept the pets very humble:))
And, finally, we can't say enough about the owner, Joe. He provided us with the best service, being always available, attending to our needs better than the most expensive hotels do - he simply cares and loves what he does.
Thanks to him, our stay at the lodge was one of the best vacations of our lives (and we had 10 completely different families together!) - from walking into the warm, lit by the flames of the fireplaces and the garlands of an elegant Xmas tree, house to reluctantly leaving it for the realities of working life.
We want to come back next year!
We had a great time at the lodge. The facility is beautiful, the owner was great to work with, and the pool was a good addition for the kids. We had a few very minor issues in the stay and the owner had them fixed in less than 2 hrs. Great experience. Would highly recommend this location to an outdoor lover!
We just came home from a 10 day vacation here & had an awesome time. The owner was so helpful & willing to do anything to make your stay more pleasant. Their was 32 of us including babies & never ran out of space or things to do for all ages. The wildlife was great we even got to see a bear. Highly recommend taking atvs! We def will consider going there again!
Thanks Joe for sharing your home with us all!
