This was a great place to stay for the wine festival. It is very close to everything and a quiet area. The beds are very comfortable and the furnishings are nice. There was a great patio area that would be perfect on a cool night.

lovely property

This was the perfect place for a girls weekend! it was a little concerning getting there as it is down a narrow path that appears very low income. However the property feels very secure and safe! The room was very clean and updated, it had everything we needed and more. The open atmosphere made it feel even larger than expected. The large sitting space allowed for a cozy lounge area that we very much enjoyed. The location backing up to the MKT trail was so wonderful for morning and evening walks. The snack shack offered anything extra you may need and was an adorable addition to an already very accommodating lodging. We will definitely come back here again!

The Mercantile on the Katy Trail is our way of sharing it: a welcoming, thoughtfully restored space where travelers, families, cyclists, and wine lovers can slow down, settle in, and enjoy the rhythm of this special corner of Missouri.

We fell in love with McKittrick because it feels like Missouri's best-kept secret - a quiet little town with history, grit, and direct access to the Katy Trail.

It's peaceful but not isolated, with beautiful views, friendly neighbors, and a location that's just a 4 minutes from the heart of Hermann.

Being right on the trail makes it a cyclist's dream, and we loved the idea of restoring a historic mercantile building that was once a hub for the community.

Now, it's a place for travelers to reconnect, recharge, and experience the Katy Trail and wine country at their own pace.
