Hankins Haven is a beautifully built traditional lowcountry house with a wraparound porch (screened on the creek side), three bedrooms, two and a half baths, and glass doors with a view of the marsh from both the living room and the kitchen/dining area.
The house just became available for rental, and is available by the week only, Saturday-Saturday. We're sorry that we can't rent for shorter times.
It sleeps six comfortably and dogs are welcome. A dock on the creek provides access for kayaks, easy fishing and crabbing, and a lovely place to sit and watch birds and other wildlife.
Hankins Haven is on the mainland side of the creek. You can quickly drive or take a boat to the island--about 15 minutes, however you go.
In a beautiful natural setting, you'll see birds at all seasons. Big glass doors and windows facing the creek let you be a part of the outdoors while you're comfortable inside, or you can sit on the dock and watch the sun rise or set. Take a kayak back into unspoiled marshes or to the beach. A short drive takes you to historic houses, churches, and gardens, or to the surf at Pawley's.

Crabbing in the creek is wonderful! Kayak nearby into undeveloped marsh areas with old shell mounds--see eagles and osprey fly overhead. Nearby are deep-sea fishing tours and kayak tours of black water swamps.
