About Tom and Ann Hankins
The Hankins family has always loved this part of the coast, and building this house in the early 80's was really a joy. We've come with friends for fishing, dancing, and good times ever since.
Tom and Ann Hankins purchased this Cottage in 1980
Why Tom and Ann Hankins chose Pawleys Island
On the water, but away from the crowds, close to Pawley's but quiet and safe. It's a perfect place for couples and small families with older children--and dogs!--to enjoy and study nature. Hankins Haven is managed by Tom and Ann Hankins.
What makes this Cottage unique
Hankins Haven offers access to the creek from our dock, so that you can go to the island or explore the creek, and also has lots of places for quiet walks, family meals, and lots of porch sitting.

Hankins Haven is a typical old beach house that could stand some upgrades (carpet, furniture) but otherwise is quite comfortable and accommodating. Beautiful location with spectacular view over the creek. Great place for families with pets. Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park, Litchfield Beach, and Murrells Inlet are all within easy driving distance. Owner was very responsive to the couple of calls we made regarding the TV/Internet service.
Like home away from home!
Rooms were much larger than photos give credit for! We loved our week here! Our dogs were so happy to be with us too! Lovely neighborhood, lots to do, just a great location for creating wonderful family memories! Thank you!! <3
Great Vacation Rental
Everything was Excellent! Had the best vacation ever!
Only con I had was cleaning the Grill since it looked like the last several folks did not clean it properly. I cleaned it before we left. Looks brand new.
We had a wonderful time at your home. Everything was neat and clean. The view was wonderful and I had a great time photographing the birds. My wife wanted to sing at church Palm Sunday so we arrived a day late. I also didn't get a chance to use the kayaks because there was so many other things to do. That was my fault. Maybe next time I can. The only problem we ran into was the shower rod in the master broke the first time we used it. The plastic screw to adjust the length had snapped. I did replace it with a new one. I also replaced the batteries in the TV remote downstairs but that is no big deal. We enjoyed the rockers on the porch and many of the local restaurants in Pawleys and Georgetown. I would reccomend it to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation and feeling like you are away from everything, yet you are only 5 minutes from shopping and restaurants. I hope we can make it back again before long. Thanks for sharing your home.

Joe , we are so glad that you had a good time at Hankins Haven. So sorry you had to become a handyman . Since you weren't able to use the kayaks , we are going to refund your rental and the check will go out in tomorrow's mail . Please let us know how much we owe you for the battery and the shower rod, and will be happy to reimburse you for these items also .

A hidden gem
Water from the creek in addition to a wonderful view helped this house want us to visit again. Not far to pawleys beach if you kayak or motor by boat.
Ronnie, we are so happy you and your family had a good stay at Hankins Haven. We very much appreciate your kind review and we look forward to hearing from you in the future.

Great creek access and terrific crabbing. Trip to the beach pretty easy though it seems a distance away. Excellent house for folks who love the marsh, rocking on the porch, and relaxing. Our granddaughter said it best "she had everything she needed right there" we will come back, but have these suggestions: stretch the hammock one more post, need a good grits pot, and a crab tongs for cooking. Add an outside shower and it would be perfection!
We are so happy that you had a good stay. By the way, the outside shower is on our list of "adds".
The beach and historic houses and churches at Pawley's are old and famous, and near by are Brookgreen Gardens with outdoor sculpture and gardens, Georgetown's historical district, many restaurants, shops, bars, and great golf courses. Crabbing in the creek is wonderful! Kayak nearby into undeveloped marsh areas with old shell mounds--see eagles and osprey fly overhead. Nearby are deep-sea fishing tours and kayak tours of black water swamps.
