Bring your family and pet to stay in this beautiful beach cottage. This 5th row ocean home is located in an affluent ocean-side residential community in the sought after South Forest Beach area of Hilton Head. Just a short 1-2 minute walk and you will enjoy one of the widest and best beaches on Hilton Head (with no major roads to cross). 1 Dogwood is an original…with all the charm of a beach-side cottage and all the comforts of home. Recently updated, you will find most everything you need to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
A wonderful outdoor fenced patio extends your living space. Plenty of seating for 6, plus two lounge chairs with an umbrella, a grill and a fan are there for your comfort. Getting back and forth to the beach is easy. Six beach chairs, two beach umbrellas and a rolling cart and more are provided. When you get back from the beach there is an outdoor shower for your use. And…when tide is up, access to miles of bike paths is just across the street!

The beach cottage has an open floor plan with living and dining and kitchen in the great area. The living area has two full couches and two side chairs. There is also a 55” smart TV and 56” ceiling fan. The dining area seats six at a table with chairs/bench, and also has two bar stools. The kitchen is fully equipped with full size refrigerator and stove. The kitchen is well equipped with all the small appliances, dishes, glassware and utensils that you will need for your stay.

The master bedroom has a king bed, a 49” TV and large dresser and closet. The adjacent master bath has a marble top double vanity , hair dryer and walk-in tiled shower. The first guest bedroom has a king bed, a 43” TV and large dresser and closet. The second guest bedroom has two full beds, a 43” TV and dresser and closet. The guest bathroom has marble top sink, hair dryer and tub/shower. There is also an enclosed washer and dryer area.

Lights & Security. The outside front light and a patio light may remain on at night. There is a motion sensor light that comes on when in the front. While the area is safe, we have taken the extra precaution to install security cameras for your protection. There are cameras located in front of the house, in the backyard and the side yard next to the road.There are no cameras located inside or in private areas, including the patio.

The property is pet friendly. One small dog/service animal is allowed. Larger or an additional pet requires prior approval from the property owner. There is a pet fee.

This is a terrific place to stay if you love big, beautiful, uncrowded beaches. The house is comfortable & close to shopping. It’s also steps from the best beach at Hilton Head. Because it’s a residential setting with no large condos it’s never crowded. Lovely

Dogwood beach stay

We picked a winner with this property! Great proximity to the beach and everything else! Coligny plaza, sea pines, grocery stores…It was great for us that this house was dog friendly. These hosts provided EVERYTHING to make this an easy and comfortably stay, including bikes, fenced in yard for dogs, poop bags for the pets, comfy beds and any needed cleaning supplies. Communication with host was professional and responsive. We can’t say enough great things about this place!

Beautiful pet friendly home in a perfect location

This house was perfect for our needs. Pet friendly in every way. A wonderful gated patio and yard, just a short stroll from the beach. Very clean and probably one of the most comfortable beds I've had in a rental. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Property in a Fantastic Location

We had a lovely family vacation here for Thanksgiving week. The house was in great shape, clean and loved the open layout. It was a great set up to have everyone together. The proximity to the beach is ideal as was having a fenced in yard for the dog. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Perfect family beach house

Perfect family get away. Very comfortable , beautifully decorated in a light beach vibe. All the Conveniences of home, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful updated bathrooms and very nice open floor plan . Great location , very short walk to the beach, outdoor shower was perfect for cleaning up after a day at the beach. The best place we have stayed at so far on Hilton Head. Would recommend.

Great cottage, great location and perfect amenities!

Last minute decision to get away for our seniors spring break and lucked out with this find. Everything about this house and neighborhood is charming, and the location was perfect. Beach area is so close and not overly populated, it’s like you had the beach to yourself. The neighbors are also super friendly and location to restaurants and the square was walkable. Highly recommend.

Great location!

Cute house in an awesome location, and an easy process with the owner / property management group. The beach at the end of Dogwood Is very quiet, filled only with people from the neighborhood, but still maybe 100 yards from a lifeguard stand if you want to check in on the rip current or sharks. For the rest of the vacation, the house is less than 10 minute drive/bike to pretty much all the necessary stuff - grocery store, restaurants, golf, Sea Pinea, etc.

Great trip to HHI

We had a great stay here! The proximity to the beach was excellent, especially as we have 3 kids under 6. The house and especially the patio / back yard worked well for our kids and our dog. The only slight downside is that the house is the first off of South Forrest Beach Drive and could be a bit noisy at times when in the bedrooms - thankfully we brought white noise machines for our kids. The kitchen was well stocked with nice kitchen appliances and cookware. We would definitely stay here again!

Convenient Beach Bungalow

We’ve been staying in this neighborhood for years so knew we would love the location, beach in this area, and quiet neighborhood. The house was very clean, comfortable, and easily cooled. We enjoyed the patio, the newly renovated bathrooms and kitchen, and the efficient floor plan. Some road noise can be heard from two of the bedrooms, but we experience this at home so it didn’t bother our crew. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Pet Friendly Rental

This was our second stay at this property. It is close to the beach, well equipped, and pet friendly. The batteries on the keyless entry were low, but the property manager arrived that day to correct the problem. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 1 Dogwood Ln.

Nice location

Everything was ok, no issues. Home definitely needs a deep clean - baseboards, fans, dirty dishes in cabinets. Only one beach towel was a disappointment. Easy walk to a less populated part of the beach.

There should have been six beach towels. We are sorry that was not the case. If our Hilton Head contact had been called this could have been rectified right away. We have never had an issue with the property not being clean and are very sorry about this. We have sent the review to our cleaner and will talk to her about these issues to make sure they do not happen again.

Best place!

We absolutely love this place for our family (5 adults). First, the beach is in a strictly residential area, so it isn’t crowded at all. Very important to us. Second, there are 2 full beds in the “kids” room for our adult, single daughters-also very important. The house is wonderful & we can bring the sixth member of our family, our little dog(there are even dog bowls provided!). Lovely place-We plan on going back again next year!❤️

A vacation house to remember

We love, love, loved this house. The kitchen and bathrooms were beautiful and the house has a great open plan. In addition, there is a fully enclosed patio that everyone enjoyed. The best part was the location, right down the street from the beach. Property manager was attentive, though we didn’t need him and the owners were responsive to all our pre-trip questions. There were plenty of towels, beach towels, beach wagons and toys. Our little dog enjoyed the yard and the beach.

Absolutely Perfect!

The house was fantastic, the location was perfect, very close to the beach, park, shopping, and dining. Loved the outdoor space, it was amazing, so much space, we had 4 adults and two children and never had an issues. We rented bikes however, the walk was so short we didn’t use the bikes to visit the beach much. So close we saw every sunrise, sunset, and enjoyed many moon light walks on the beach. We didn’t want to leave, and cannot wait to return.

Great Location-Light & Airy

The property was light and airy, and beautifully decorated. We were very comfortable there because the owners have thoughtfully furnished it with all of the comforts of home. They allow dogs, and have a great fenced in back yard, we felt our dog was safe while outside. The bed was a little too stiff for us, a good mattress cover would solve this, but maybe others would prefer a hard mattress, so no points off for it! Also, the property is next to a road; however, you can't hear road noise in the Primary bedroom at night. The location of the property is in a lovely neighborhood right next to one of the more beautiful beaches in HH. I would highly recommend this property for a HH beach vacation.

Short walk to beach!

We enjoyed our stay at 1 Dogwood Lane. The location was perfection, being walking distance from Coligny Plaza and a short walk to the beach. The beach was very nice and private to the neighborhood. Bonus, our 4 legged baby got to join us for a small pet fee! Would definitely stay again. Notes… Home had plenty of beach supplies including chairs, wagons, beach umbrellas, cooler, and toys. No need to bring your own. Kitchen was well stocked. Biking is very popular on the island. Bring your own or there are plenty of rental options. The two king rooms are spacious. The room with two queens is a bit small. Saturday traffic going onto the island was insane.

Hilton head close to the beach

We stayed the week after Christmas 2022. The house was clean and updated. Most importantly it allowed my dad’s small dog to join us. He wouldn’t leave her at home. My sister’s family stayed at another property but we all spent NYE here. We had plenty of space. The house is across the street from access to the many bike and walking trails. It’s also 3 houses from the beach. Our weather wasn’t great so we didn’t spend hours at the beach, but my husband ran on it and we walked down for a few sunrises. The property manager contacted me the day of check in so I could contact him with questions or issues. We did not have any! Other VRBOs leave long lists of how to leave the property. This one did not. We did clean up and take out food and garbage, but no laundry needed to be done. I would definitely stay here again!
