Lakeside 1BR Amsterdam: 5 Mins to Beach & Downtown. Kayaks, Quiet & Cozy

The Space
The Amsterdam is a private 1-bedroom apartment located within Holland House, a charming "Old Florida" single-story home converted into a boutique lakeside community. We are situated in the heart of the vibrant Bayshore Arts District, offering a unique blend of nature and local culture.

The Amsterdam is 40% larger than our standard units and features:

Quiet Comfort: Newly installed Mini-split AC for silent, custom cooling.

Kitchenette: Includes a full-size refrigerator (no ice/water dispenser) and cooking essentials.

Security: A small in-room safe for your valuables.

Guest Access
Think of Holland House as a small, intimate resort. You have your own private entrance and a private screened lanai to enjoy the tropical breeze. You also have full access to our shared backyard oasis, which includes:

The Lake: Fish for mullet, watch the turtles, or spot the occasional alligator from our popular floating deck.

Amenities: Use your BBQ grill, gather around the fire pit (no wood provided), or bring our fishing rods.

Adventure: Explore the lake via kayak.
Seasonal Treats: In the summer, feel free to enjoy the fruit from our mango and avocado trees.

Laundry: On-site coin-operated washer and dryer available.

Neighborhood Overview
We are a "hidden gem" in an older, safe, and transitioning neighborhood where neighbors truly care for one another.

Parks & Recreation: Four stunning parks are within 2 miles. Sugden Park is just around the corner, featuring Lake Avalon’s safe beach, a sailing school, and paddleboard rentals.

Pickleball Capital: We are minutes away from East Naples Community Park, the largest pickleball complex in the U.S. and home to the U.S. Open Pickleball Championships every April. Whether you are a pro or a beginner, it’s a must-visit!

Parks & Recreation: Four stunning parks are within a 2-mile radius. Sugden Park is just around the corner, featuring Lake Avalon’s beach, a sailing school, and walking trails.

Botanical Bliss: A short stroll takes you to the world-famous Naples Botanical Garden.

Sunsets & Dolphins: Just south is Bayview Park. It features a public boat ramp and is widely considered the best spot in town for sunsets. It’s a spectacular place to watch dolphins play and pelicans dive.

Bayshore Arts District: Walk to the world-famous Botanical Gardens, local galleries, and trendy restaurants.

Proximity: Downtown Naples and the famous white-sand beaches are only 3 miles away (about a 5-minute drive).

Getting Around
While a car is the best way to see all of Naples, we are very well-connected:

E-Bikes: A fun, popular way to reach the beach or 5th Ave. For rent about 2 miles away.

Public Transit: The city bus stop is just a few hundred yards away on Bayshore Dr.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About the host

Hosted by Jantina J Hanna

Host profile image
My name is Jantina Hanna. I am originally from the Netherlands. I have been in Florida for about 30 years. I know Naples pretty well. I am an energetic kind of girl. I love the outdoors. Sailing, hiking and kayaking are my passions. I can build just about anything. I have been a Tomboy all my life. I don't think that is going to change anytime soon.
I have 5 sons, 4 alive and married with kids of their own. I am the proud grandma(Oma) of 7 of the most wonderful grand kids in the world.
I love hosting and meeting people. I love traveling too but not flying these day. I like to explore new surroundings. I LOVE the national Parks in the US but the cities in Europe. am blessed to be able to travel a lot and see many differed places and meet people from all different cultures.
I am always thinking of making your stay more pleasant. We do organized Kayak/ Snorkeling tours in the beautiful lakes and water ways surrounding the house. It is so beautiful here but most people don't even see it as it's a hidden gem and if you don't go out there it stays hidden.
Soon we will start a little Sunset cruise on our boat. Just slowly puttering around the lake with a cocktail, while watching all what nature has to offer right in our backyard..
We Love Halloween. Besides our normal tours we are planning a Halloween kayak or walk tour during the whole month of October and maybe longer.
In December we might ad a Christmas tour.
On the 4th of July there's real fireworks right in our back yard (Unfortunate it was canceled in 2020 due to Covid ) so you might want to make sure your are here around that date next year. it is spectacular and NO parking problems.
In April there's the International Pickle Ball Championship right at East Naples Community park. The park is less than a mile away and by foot even closer.
For the rest of 2020 I can get you free admission to the Botanical garden
I can assure you there is always something fun and adventurous to do here. Just ask me about it.

Why they chose this property

Because it is located in the very best neighborhood in Naples. We are right in the middle of the Bayshore Arts District. You can basically walk to restaurants, bars and even a brewery. The Botanical garden is less than half a mile away (I can get you free admission during the rest of 2020) and so are several parks in close distance.
We are located on Lake Kelly. A small but beautiful lake full of fish and birds. Something very special about the lake is that you will see the jumping Mullets.
In the private (for our guests) back yard you will find the floating deck with several kayaks for you to use in the lake free of charge.
Spread around over the yard are lounge chairs and tables with chairs. We have some fishing rods, a fire place and a gas grill for our guests. All this at no extra charge.
There is a small coin operated laundromat with ironing board.
I have heard it many times: We are often called: the best bargain in Naples.
BUT WE ARE NOT THE RITZ.

What makes this property unique

I have never liked hotels. I have stayed in some pretty fancy ones but I think in the end they all kind of the same, impersonal spaces.
Holland house is located in an older building. It's got history and charm. The AC is centrally located and, I am sorry but you can't change the temperature in the room, It is set to 71 what seems acceptable for most guests.
All our rooms are different. The sizes are about the same but we have added personal touches so you feel immediately at home.
We make the rooms as attractive as we can and have added loads of facilities you won't find anywhere else.
It is like staying at a small resort where you meet fellow guests and develop friendships that last an evening or the rest of your life. If you are traveling single you don't have to feel alone. Just step outside and introduce yourself. Conversation rise and stories are told by the BBQ, one of the decks or by the fire pit.
How about FREE kayaks to use in the lake behind the house. We have fishing gear for guest trying to catch their own dinner for on the BBQ. We have ample seating outside and nature all around. Despite we are so close to down town and the beaches. It's quiet when you sit by the water on one of the decks in the back yard. You will see a lot of locale birds including Muscovy Ducks. (PLEASE DO NOT FEED THEM) I like seeing them in the water but not on the decks. There are many turtles in the water. Something really special about this lake is the jumping Mullets. I call the miniature dolphins.
