2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, 6 people Stylish, bright and Quiet with all you need
This beautiful place that can sleep 6 people plus there is a baby bed. We equiped it like the way we want to travel ourselves to make your life easier: 2 french cellphones with free communication so that your group can split and communicate easily (free of charge), hair iron, towel dryer, nespresso machine for great expresso, baby accessories, baby carrier backpack etc.
It is located right on 2 subway lines and 5 buses lines to visit all monuments with no trouble (I will provide itinerary guide).
Recently renovated by an architect, it kept its classic touch as it has parquet floors, molded ceilings but has modernity thanks to the designers furniture (Philippe Starck, P. Urquiola, etc...), antics and authentic classic advertising from the 1930’s (you will love them !!). There is no doubt you will feel at home. While being in a lively area, this 5th floor condo (with a elevator) is incredibly quiet as it opens on 2 courtyards on both sides. It proposes a master bedroom with a queen size bed and a dressing, another bedroom that can be set up with a queen size bed size or 2 twin’s beds and, an extra sleeping in the living room with a sofa that can sleep very comfortably 2 people (queen size). One baby bed is also available if needed. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances to cook fantastic French dinner
Neighbourhood: Our appartment is located in the 9th, the real Paris, in the 'trendy' SOPI - South Pigalle that the NY times describes as ' “There is no better place to rent an apartment and to pretend, even for a brief time, to live in Paris.”
Walkable distance to Montmartre, Moulin Rouge, Place des Abbesses, the bar staged in the movie Amelie, and all the shopping area of the Grand Magasins/Opera, and the garden of the museum of the vie romantique! Historically, this neighbourhood, famous in 19th Century literature, was called the 'New Athens' as most of the intellectuals of the era were living there at the time: Hugo, Chopin, Sand,Gauguin etc… while less wealthy artists were living in Montmartre. This unique intellectual energy and the mosaic of people living here, makes it one of the neighbourhoods valued by the Parisians to live. It has been celebrated by the New York Times as the 'real Paris’ off the standard tourist track. Jean Paul Gaultier and several movie stars are living a few houses away and can be seen in the street. This neighbourhood is a unique one, which explains the limited number of apartments that are available. Today, many young, talented fashion designers have located in this neighbourhood and are side by side with authentic food store and the numerous guitar shops. The famous 'rue des Martyrs' is 5mn away proposing one of the best and authentic choices in term of food shopping and real Parisian fooding (NY times describes it as 'the last real street in Paris.”).
Transportation: Very well located to discover Paris, it is connected to most of the key neighbourhoods by 2 subway lines that covers Paris from North to South (line 12) and east /west (line 2) and 5 buses (30/54/67/74/montmartrobus) will take you directly to the Champs Elysees, the Louvre, the top of Montmartre, the left bank etc..
Adjacent to the building, you will find a grocery store open every day until late (very unique in Paris) andstores with very nice owners. Our building host as well a tiny standing comedy theatre that has some English speaking shows in the summer time (no noise for you as it is on the street side). It is located on a quiet courtyard just off the animated ‘rue Jean Baptiste Pigalle and the rue des martyrs

About Diane J.
We are an Franco/American family- Diane is Parisian and my husband is American. We have been traveling a lot, lived in the 2 countries. One of our source of joy is to share our best times and addresses of our trip. Paris is a very special place for us. If you need any tips for family travel in Paris, let us know.
Diane J. purchased this Condo in 2000
Why Diane J. chose Saint Georges
South Pigalle is the real and "hip" Paris: fun, classic, intellectual and in the center of everything. Best food scene (in competition with North Marais), the new york times, Vogues, etc... has now discovered the neighborhood which increase the number of designers and good restaurants here... but I am an "early adopter". I fell in love with it when I arrive to study in paris... in 1990.... and I am still in love with it. As the NY times describe it: “There is no better place to rent an apartment and to pretend, even for a brief time, to live in Paris.” “FOR me, the Rue des martyrs is the last real street in Paris.”
What makes this Condo unique
The quietness of our place in a lively neighborhood. the style of the place with unique piece of furniture from our french family, unique piece of arts from the 1930's and the fact you can do everything walking or enjoy the fantastic subway and bus connection that are right there. You will enjoy all the details to make your life easy: 2 local cellphones to use during your trip, beauty accessories such hair iron, adaptors, tooth brush charger, baby gears if needed etc...

Local Services & Businesses
We spent two weeks in this apartment and would highly recommend it. It is spacious, clean, amazingly quiet considering its location. We really enjoy this area of Paris - lots to see and do all within easy walking distance. And lots of easy bus and/or metro connections to the rest of the city. The owner was very responsive and had left a lot of useful information.
Everything was as described and was wonderful. We loved all the tips from the owner!
I would definitely recommend the apartment.
Perfect for our family of four
We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights. The reservation process and check-in were easy. Location and all the amenities in the apartment were perfect. It was very quiet, clean and the beds were comfortable. WIFI was good. The 30 second walk to the Metro and shops were convenient. Lili was attentive to our needs. Would definitely recommend.
The apartment is in a great location, with cool cafes and easy access to metro and major landmarks.
The apartment is easy to find and the check in instructions and neighborhood information provided by the owner was invaluable. The apartment has every amenity and is very comfortable and quiet. Close to so many cool cafes, boulangeries, and patisseries on Rue St Martys and in Montmartre. Diane was very helpful with any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Cute and comfortable apartment; owner is very responsive. Thank you!!
Cute and comfortable apartment; owner is very responsive. Thank you!!
Peaceful apartment, close to metro and Montmartre
Peaceful and nicely appointed apartment, homey, updated bathroom with generous tub, plenty of hot water, gobs of towels as well as a towel heater; tastefully decorated but also safe and child friendly, extremely close to metro but also adjacent to the quintessentially Parisian side streets of Montmartre. Be aware that it's just a quarter block south of the sex shops so plan your walks accordingly and use basic big city common sense when walking from the metro stop to the double entry way, which has two separate locking doors prior to accessing the building. The owner has detailed maps with a red line through areas to avoid. She also has very informative maps and suggestions for activities that were unbelievably helpful. She also provided crucial airport transportation information, including the name and contact information for a stellar private taxi service as well as the name and phone number for a local sitter. We had a few issues with some appliances (bedroom heater and washer-dryer) but were assured they would be replaced immediately following our departure, and the property manager as well as owner were extremely sensitive to as well as responsive to our feedback, and immediately provided a large space heater to use during our stay. All of the other appliances appeared fairly new and extremely well maintained, and the owner provided cell phone chargers for the French outlets as well as two cell phones. Wifi was quite spotty in the evenings.
Hello Julia, thank you for your review. The handle of the laundry washer that was broken had been replaced and the heater is ordered. There is a temporary one, less discrete but very efficient. We hope you appreciated the refund we processed for you proactively.
Note we also just changed the landline phones to increase the charge of them.
The wifi is fiberoptic and it is the speedest you could ever find in Paris. I will ask a monitoring of the speed.
Thanks and hope to see you soon
