Overall layout and decor was wonderful. This was our last of 3 vrbos on our trip and was totally the best in terms of comfort as well, as in enough seating, huge beds, etc. The kitchen setup was good. Took awhile to find the trash can and maybe could use more knives and utensils but not a big deal. Loved the location although the restaurants nearby all had some issues. Shops were nice, ice cream next door great!

We were pleasantly surprised by this gem! Very clean and updated. The kitchen was well equipped and even included everything needed for us to have a steamed lobster dinner. We really like the location which is on the quiet side of MDI but within walking distance to several good restaurants, shops and the park.

Great spot in a great location.

Our party of 4 stayed here for our short trip to Acadia. This place was clean, beds were comfortable, and stocked with those necessities needed for the middle of a trip. We fell in love with the quiet side town of southwest harbor during our trip. It was a short 15 minutes drive into the heart of Acadia & only 5-10 minute drive into Bass Harbor lighthouse and the Seawall area. Stargazing at Seawall Picnic area is an absolute must at night time , just watch for deer on the drive to it.

On Island Time

One of the best Home Away properties we have stayed at. Shawn was an outstanding host that made sure we had treats from his cafe just down the street. Outstanding location for easy access to all of Bar Harbor and Acadia. Condo was very clean and completely stocked. Deposit refund was made within a day or 2. Excellent Condo in Southwest Harbor

My wife, daughter and I stayed at the "On Island Time" condo the week before July 4th. The condo was very nice, roomy and most importantly extremely clean (probably the cleanest VRBO we've ever stay in). All the furniture was nice and the decor was enough to give the vacation condo vibe, without being "too much" and nothing I had to worry about my daughter messing with or breaking, which is nice. The apartment doesn't have AC, but it has plenty of fans and windows on all sides, so it is pretty easy to cool off. Bedding, furniture, bathroom were all nice and in good condition. The full size washer and dryer were very nice to have after a week of hiking. We cooked a couple of times and found the kitchen was pretty well stocked with the needed cookware, but has basically no storage containers, so beware if you plan on having leftovers. The range was pretty anemic, much less powerful than my electric range at home and a few more ice trays would've been nice. The owners always responded to me very quickly before I checked in. I had no need to contact them after I arrived. Southwest Harbor is a pretty sleepy town, but this condo has the best location within town I could imagine. Easy walk to everything, and I had no noise issues. I was able to walk across the street to watch the July 4th fireworks. Also, very easy and spacious parking right in front of the door. I would book this condo again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful

My family wanted to see Acadia National Park, so I initially started looking at hotels in Bar Harbor. All of those options were insanely over-priced, so we looked to VRBO for nearby properties. I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon this property in Southwest Harbor. The unit was clean, had a separate bedroom for our teenager, and was located within walking distance to restaurants and shops. We had a great time, and would absolutely come back.

Great place in little town of southwest harbor. With an infant, it was a little out of the way to bar harbor and Acadia, but nice to be on quiet side of island!

Sara, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay on the less hectic and crowded side of Mt. Desert Island, despite your husband being so sick during your stay. We did want to make one correction to your review so that others understand Acadia National Park a little better. The park covers about ½ of Mt. Desert Island as well as parts of the Isle Au Haut and the Schoodic Peninsula. There are park hiking trails all over the island. In fact, the signs you drove by daily on your stay like Acadia Mountain, Echo Lake and Saint Sauveur are all less than 2 miles away. Other Acadia hiking trails less than 5 minutes away by car include Valley Cove, Flying Mountain, Bernard West Ledge Trail, Mansell Trail, Great Notch Trail, Sluiceway & South Face Trails, Western Mountain, Perpendicular & Razorback Trails, Great Pond Trail, Canada & Beech Cliffs. And of course don’t forget about Wonderland and Ship Harbor and well as the Bass Harbor Lighthouse, which are all about a 10 minute drive away. All of these hiking trails and the lighthouse are a part of Acadia Nation Park and is right in our backyard!

Fantastic Location

This was a wonderful “home” for 3 nights! After exploring Acadia all day coming back to this apartment was so nice. You can walk to the restaurants and shops in Southwest Harbor and even to the great little market for food and wine. Great to have a washer and dryer also! Only 2 small complaints: The gray towels seem to “shed” lint or the washer got lint on us/clothes. Also, some kind of outdoor area would have been soooo appreciated to sit and have a glass of wine. This would be impossible to add, but just thought future renters should be aware that there is no outdoor area.

Great location and Great Stay

Our stay at "On Island Time" was wonderful. From the nice touches in the decor to the convenient location in Southwest Harbor we were impressed. Upon our arrival was a small box of goodies from Shawn and Brian's store (Milagro Coffee and Espresso). I highly recommend visiting the coffee shop even if you do not stay in this particular VRBO. The accommodations were clean and well stocked. Being located on the other side of Mt. Desert Island allowed us to be away from the craziness of Bar Harbor and enjoy a relaxing time. This place was exactly what we were looking for.

Wonderful!

This is a beautiful property! Spacious and beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean. There is nothing that you could want for, it's got everything you could possibly want to bake or cook, make drinks, be comfortable and feel at home. The location is great, right in the heart of charming little SW Harbor where there are nice restaurants, cafes, bakeries and gift shops. It is less than 1/2 hour to drive to Bar Harbor and to Acadia National Park. We enjoyed or stay so much and our only regret is that we weren't able to spend more time in this beautiful apartment. The parking is very convenient and located just behind the apartment. You do have to climb stairs to get to the apartment so probably not a good choice if you have trouble climbing stairs. We were greeted with a box of delicious muffins from the owners bakery and a hand written welcome note. All instructions for the stay and for check out are clearly written out. This is the best VRBO property we have stayed in so far.

Beautiful, charming, and spotless

We enjoyed our stay enormously—this property managed to feel both pristine and homey; it is clear that a lot of love has gone into the design and preservation of this spacious, bright, comfortable home, and the owners have taken great care to ensure that visitors have everything they need to enjoy their visit. I could not recommend this property more highly—we loved it, loved Acadia, and will definitely be back.

Perfect cozy apartment !

Our stay in this beautiful apartment was perfect for us. Wish we could of spent more time there but we were constantly on the go even in bad weather some days! The apartment had all we needed, Shawn and Brian thought of EVERYTHING!! Fully stocked kitchen, and having a washer and dryer there was a big plus.It was our first visit to this side of Acadia and the town was quaint with a lot of nice restaurants, Acadia National park was a quick 20 minute drive away. A very positive experience for my husband and I we will be back!

Great apartment!

We had a great stay here. Apartment is well equipped, comfortable, spacious and in a great location. Southwest Harbor a lovely little town with everything you need but also an easy drive to Bar Harbor and the main area of Acadia. Great communication with owner. Acadia is beautiful and we enjoyed lots of hiking, biking the carriage roads, and a sunrise from Cadillac mountain. Would definitely book this place again.

Very comfortable.

Very comfortable and adorable decor. Good location with walking distance to restaurants. Close enough to Acadia. All the comforts of home. They left us muffins and good coffee. I would definitely book with them again.

Spacious, well stocked, lovely apartment

This apartment is beautiful! It's so spacious and had plenty of room for us and our two kids. We really appreciated all the extras, like the fans, the Bluetooth speaker, the toiletry items. Loved having the washer and dryer in the bathroom! The owners were very responsive and Southwest Harbor is a quaint, lovely village. It was surprisingly a little noisy with traffic in the mornings, but if you are able to close the window, it would block the sound well (it happened to be warm when we were there so the windows were open). Overall a great apartment that I would definitely recommend. Southwest harbor doesn't have the crowds that Bar Harbor does and it was a short drive to Acadia, so we enjoyed staying on the quiet side of the island.

Comfortable and Cozy with cottage style decor!

First impressions are eveything. This 2nd floor space makes a great first impression, large, open floor plan with a great kitchen and main living area. The bedrooms are well equipped and very comfortable. The bathroom with the addition of laundry is a great touch for short or extended stays. After a full day of exploring Acadia, and going on local excursions, returning home to Island Time made our vacation that much more memorable and enjoyable! We will be back for sure, and will recommend SW Harbor and Island Time to all of our friends and family. Shawn and Brian went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and it was great to start each day at Milagro Coffee.

PERFECT!

Such a fun place to hang out in town. Our 18 y/o granddaughter loved being able to walk downstairs and immediately be "downtown". Apartment is exquisitely clean and fully stocked with absolutely everything you need. Short drive to so many places. Walk to dinner or breakfast. What more do you need? We'll be back guys!

Huge, clean, great location, perfect!

This apartment was so much larger than we expected. For the price and just two of us, it was like a palace! Very clean, fully stocked and equipped with anything we could have needed, including helpful tourist info. Southwest Harbor was charming and we loved how quiet and peaceful it was. We will recommend this apartment to anyone! Hope to come back someday.

This apartment is right in the center of downtown Southwest Harbor. You can literally park your car and walk, bike, hike or take the bus to Acadia National Park and most of Mt. Desert Island. The apartment has been well cared for as is very comfortable.
