Overview

About the property

Ideal for a couple

In the center of Thompson Springs ghost town! Quiet and peaceful. This is not for the person who loves rush hour in the big city! There is a Shell station in town and that's it! Bring groceries with you when you come. Moab and Arches National park is about a half hour drive to the south. This place is really all about freedom. If you decide to ride an ATV through Town, nobody bothers you. If you decide to ride your bicycle down old hwy 6 you might pass a car, but chances are you won't.

Cute clean little mobile home

  • 5 of 5

Serenely quiet except for the occasional train and since I love trains that was great. Grounds were a bit stark but there are young trees planted and all was well maintained. Manager was excellent at making us feel welcome and how the process worked with both email and text.

Very nice place clean. Very quiet area.

Great place and short 30 minute drive to arches/Moab. The $ is well worth it. We will definitely stay at The “Gecko” when we go back to Utah.

AWESOME!

  • 5 of 5

From the time we arrived until we left, everyone was fantastic. The "GECKO" was just exactly what we needed, and the price couldn't be beat! Sam and his wife "Krista" were positively accommodating to everything! They took us on an ATV tour that put me in AWE! Doug's point was the highlight, but the little cemetery and all of the ruins were fantastic as well! Their knowledge about everything on the tour helped us to understand and almost picture who lived there many many years ago!! My husband and myself enjoyed ourselves more than we even thought possible. Dave and "Doc" were at the office when we arrived, and the friendliness continued throughout our stay by all!! Sam and Krista do an awesome job, and I hope the owner truly appreciates their dedication! You can tell they truly love what they do, and it shows!! We would come back in a mini-second if at all possible! Thank you everyone, for a wonderful stay, and we wish everyone the best that life can offer!! Sam and Krista, "keep up the good work"!

Wonderful experience, amazing property. Only very minor issues.

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this property was amazing, and we had a fantastic time. It isn't very far from Moab (about 30-40 minutes) and is in its own RV Park isolated from the city. The other RV/Cabins are separated by a fair distance so that you cannot hear other people in the RV park, and allows you to enjoy your time alone. The staff of the RV Park are wonderful and are always willing to help. The cabin itself is very cozy, is fully stocked with cooking materials, dishes, silverware, etc. and has wonderful amenities.

The only issue we had was our Air Conditioning. The A/C is wonderful and is easy to operate and maintain, but the A/C stopped working one of the nights we were there. The reasoning for this was that it was set to a temperature that was too low (70 degrees Fahrenheit). Our cabin was 96 degrees during the day and 84 degrees at night. We contacted the staff to help resolve this, and they were willing to help but because of the design of the A/C unit, we simply had to just let the "coils defrost." We opened the windows and turned on the fans in the cabin and that helped out a lot. The A/C worked fine the next day and worked well ever since.

I would absolutely recommend this cabin to all of my friends and family that are planning to go to Moab or the surrounding area in Utah. It is well worth the money, is very cost-effective, is very cozy and has wonderful amenities with wonderful staff, and I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to experience Moab, Utah, and the surrounding area in this cabin.

Thank you so much :)

Loved the rental !

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the rental. Everything we needed was there, including meeting some nice people. Dave was very helpful in pointing out areas to see & different routes to take. We loved the day trips to Sego & Thompson Canyons . Moab area was outstanding, & a short drive away. We are already talking about a return trip.

THANK YOU !!

Steve
