In the center of Thompson Springs ghost town! Quiet and peaceful. This is not for the person who loves rush hour in the big city! There is a Shell station in town and that's it! Bring groceries with you when you come. Moab and Arches National park is about a half hour drive to the south. This place is really all about freedom. If you decide to ride an ATV through Town, nobody bothers you. If you decide to ride your bicycle down old hwy 6 you might pass a car, but chances are you won't.
Ideal for a couple

About Dave McKay
I love adventure and beautiful scenery, open spaces, no crowds and lots of wild life. My idea of relaxing is not waiting in line at Disney world (although it has its place)
Dave McKay purchased this Mobile Home in 2010
Why Dave McKay chose Thompson
I bought this property because its not handy to shopping and air pollution and traffic jams and noise and confusion and stress... hundreds of miles of unfenced public property! serenity!!!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Place was super clean and had everything we needed. Everyone was very helpful. It was about a 30 minute drive into Moab and the parks which was fine with us. We used the BBQ and laundry facilities which was a bonus. Only problem we found was with intranet. We had a few cloudy days and it would not work, so we would just go to office to catch up. But when the days got sunny again there was no problem connecting at the trailer. Bed was a little soft for our liking but that is just us. Others might be fine with it. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
Really like this rental
This is the second time I've had the opportunity to stay at Ballard Park, and I really hope I can visit again. The unit is clean, quiet, safe and they provide many amenities -- coffee, Kleenex, a new kitchen sponge still in the wrapper (I find it disgusting when I walk into a rental and there is a used sponge on the kitchen sink), dishwashing soap, etc. The park is so peaceful and the sunsets are amazing!
My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at the Gecko cabin in the Ballard RV Park. We were visiting the national parks in the area and this was the perfect place to rest and relax. Located not far out of Moab, where we went every day either to hike arches national park, to get lunch , or to pick up groceries. The place was clean and comfortable, and had a gas grill, which we used several times to make dinner. It was nice sitting on the porch, having a steak off the grill and watching the sun set. We loved every day there and want to return again next year. We'll definitely look to stay here again.
Clean and comfortable. Great to have a full fridge, kitchen, comfortable bed and sitting area. About 40 minutes outside Moab but the drive was beautiful every time.
Resort living in the Utah desert
We had a wonderful stay at Thompson Spring. Even though it's a 30 minutes drive to Arches National Park, the quality of the stay is unbeatable. After spending an entire day in the Utah desert, it's very refreshing to come back to an air-conditioned home, with ample space to sit, cook, eat and sleep. The outdoor BBQ is a nice addition; we did almost all our dinner cooking on that BBQ, easy and fast. The unit was very nice and clean.
We really enjoyed the down time.
Quiet area - easy and beautiful drive into Moab. The property was clean all the necessities were provided. There are no grocery stores close so plan ahead. Enjoyed sitting outside and swinging.
I-70 exit 187 , Thompson Springs Ghost town at the base of the Book Cliffs just north of Moab, 4500 year old Indian paintings, ghost towns and dino tracks, many miles of ATV trails
