We had another excellent stay at the Shell house on Folly Beach. We have stayed here twice before, and always enjoy the well stocked kitchen. The comfortable beds and bedding! The quiet home nestled among the trees within walking distance of many restaurants shops and groceries

Folly was Fun!!

We had a really nice time. Location was great- beach was close. Residents were so friendly and it was great our dog could walk on lease on the beach.

Literally a 5 min walk to the beach and super close to everything! The house is quirky with a spiral staircase in the center of the home. Definitely not ideal for older guests but not a deal breaker. I found that charming. The home was very spacious and enjoyed the foosball table a lot. Plenty of beach towels and chairs available for use. Our biggest complaint was the cleanliness of the property. We found that the floors were not that clean when we got in. I attempted to use 2 different vacuums in the basement but neither worked. There is no actual broom either. We used one of the pull out couches in the basement and when pulling out the mattress we found some nail clippings. Blankets looked to be reused. Also found a dead roach next to the drier. This property can use some major deep cleaning. Rugs also stained and dirty looking. I’ve stayed at many VRBO’s and never left a review this poor.

Weather was perfect. House was centrally located to downtown, beach and Berts. Upon check in we were told there was a detour on the road which we later found was due to long planned drainage project. Construction from 8 amup to 7 pm in front of the house. I am sure if youy stay you will enjoy this place. We picked wrong week bc we were not informed Id give mgmt co 0 stars if i could.

We had a fabulous stay at Folly Beach and the house was perfect for our family of 5. The beach, the pier, and all the shops and restaurants were only a couple minutes walk away!! We are already looking forward to next year!!

Love the house!

We had an absolutely wonderful time, the house was awesome and our host, Steven, provided us with everything we needed. The talk of the trip was the beautiful wrought iron spiral staircase in the middle of the house. The general consensus is that the house was built around the staircase. Pretty cool!

Great location, short walk to the beach, shops/dining and marsh… excellent communication with manager. Beds were comfortable. Met all of our needs for a quick 2 night stop. We will be back.

Great location and space! The management team was very responsive and offered to bring a broom, though we made the vacuum work, but appreciated their offer and willingness to add to the home. It could use a deep clean but overall felt good for a beach house! Neighbors and locals were awesome!

Senior Trip

Overall a great trip to Folly BeachShell House was very convenient to walk to the beach and stores/restaurants. There are 3 separate bedrooms so it worked well for us, our daughter and son. Keep in mind that the upstairs room and the basement/full bath are accessible by circular staircases that may be tough for elderly or mobility challenges. Folly has a great laid back pace and was a great getaway!

Family Trip

The house was perfect for 5 adults and an 11 year old and 2 dogs. We all had plenty of space to spread. The house was a short walk from the beach and all the restaurant and shops. It was a perfect place to stay - the 11 year old enjoyed the games in the lower level. Great trip and would definitely recommended the house!

Great family time/Friends wedding time

Once a year get together with family, birthday/ new Years celebrating and this time, a close family friends wedding weekend. Great time to catch up with CharlestonMUSC friends and family time. Magical

My family and I enjoyed every moment of our stay here. This house is truly unique while also being cozy and functional. Close to everything including great horned owls which delighted us in the evenings. We hope to visit again!

10th Bday getaway

We chose the Shell House for a weekend getaway to celebrate our twin sons’ 10th birthday. They loved the house, the arcade and foosball table were particular hits. All was clean and we were even welcomed with a gift! We enjoyed the sights and tastes of the town, the neighborhood is far enough off the main strip to be quiet, but close enough to walk to everything. We ca on the deck one evening watching stars. It was truly a magical weekend. Steven and Sara were very communicative and responsive. We were provided lots of information prior to our arrival which helped us feel at ease, and able to just enjoy ourselves! Highly recommend this home!

We had a great stay and it made it easier on us with having a wedding on the beach! Great location and lots of space in the house so you don’t feel on top of one another. Appreciate it.
