Overall, things were very good. Charlotte was easy to communicate with, check-in was a breeze, the location was beautiful, and the accommodation was generously stocked with anything one could need for the kitchen or bathroom.
I think most people would find this a wonderful place to stay, but there are a few small things folks should be aware of:
The site and views from it are outstanding, but to get to it, you have to drive up a long, somewhat steep and windy gravel road. This was no problem in good weather for our AWD vehicle, but some folks may find it a bit challenging or intimidating.
While the high-use areas in the bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom were very clean, there were a few articles visibly left under some furniture in the main sitting room, a wrapper was on the bed, and less trafficked areas could have been better cleaned. The fan in the bathroom and the A/C unit in the kitchen were in serious need of cleaning.
As the listing states, it is over the stable. As a result, there are lots of flies around, and one or two occasionally makes its way inside. In addition, while the aroma of the stable was only very mildly detectable in the portion of the suite near the door on most days, on rainy/wet days, it was a bit more pronounced.
Finally, the suite is very nicely furnished in a bridal style, which, while looking lovely, isn't always the most practical (e.g. light white fabric curtains that don't keep sunlight out of the bedroom, fuzzy lounge chairs that aren't the best seating for watching TV).
This all being said, as I hope the star rating reflects, we had a very nice time at this lovely, clean accommodation in a gorgeous setting with a very thoughtful host.
