About Jane and Jack Brunson

Jack is an Elba native and works locally with an insurance company. Jane is a CPA and serves on the Elba City Council. We enjoy the benefits of small town life and enjoy welcoming visitors to Elba for business or pleasure.

Jane and Jack Brunson purchased this Lodge in 2013

Why Jane and Jack Brunson chose Elba

This property on the banks of Pea River has been the home to members of the extended Brunson family for over 100 years. When the house became vacant, we thought it was ideally situated for a small Bed & Breakfast lodge to provide much needed overnight accommodations in Elba.

What makes this Lodge unique

Conveniently located just off US Hwy 84 near downtown Elba, this spot on the banks of the river gives The Lodge a remote and peaceful atmosphere. The small mid-century house has original pine paneling with a completely renovated bath and kitchen and a new full bathroom, along with freshly painted and decorated rooms. Free internet is available. If you have time for recreation, The Lodge is within walking distance of the public boat launch on Pea River, and canoe and kayak rentals are available year-round by reservation.

Great place for family stay close to Fort Rucker

                                                          Victoria T.

We stayed here for 5 nights during a family members week of warant Officer graduation. We also traveled with our 90 year old grandfather, so this was so much better than staying in a hotel. Much more comfortable! The breakfast items were a great touch. The owners even checked in a couple times and offered to go to the store to get us whatever we needed. They did everything to ensure we were comfortable and happy with our stay. We couldn’t have been happier.

We would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It was about a 30 minute drive to the army base, but the area of Elba felt much nicer than staying in Daleville. It was also nice to be able to grill out at the house and have dinner/lunch a few times at the house vs eating out everyday.

On another trip we would stay there again.

Thank you for all your hospitality!

                                                          Owner's Response:

We are always proud to have military families stay at The Lodge and are glad that you enjoyed your stay and the visit with your graduate. It was nice meeting you and we appreciate the review.

Loved this adorable house! Owners are very sweet, house is very clean and cozy we will be back!! Highly recommended!

                                                          Wonderful place to stay!

                                                          Gaylier M.

We loved your place. Its pine paneling reminds us of a home we used to have and which we loved. It was comfy and homey, yet has all the modern conveniences also. The treats you provided were an extra wonderful treat, especially for the grandchildren who took turns most nights sleeping in the third bedroom. We will likely be contacting you again when my husband’s sisters will be needing a place in late April whenever we have our annual week of Miller reunion.

I would like to have had time here to get more acquainted with more of your extensive library of books. However, dueing the daytime we were mostly over at our place in Bullock Community.

We will probably leave this morning around 10:00, depending upon how fast we can get moving.

                                                          Many thanks, Gaylier Miller

My family & I were extremely comfortable during our visit. I would recommend this lodging to anyone looking to stay in the area. It is so much better than staying in a hotel especially for the price. The house was clean, updated, and Jane was very hospitable.

                                                          Oozes hospitality!

                                                          Marian C.

We were a group of six family members coming together from all over the country for a daughter/niece's flight school graduation. Everyone loved how comfortable and well appointed the property was. We hosted a dinner one evening for others in our group who were not staying with us ... and they all loved the lodge as well, including the outside grill and fire pit. It wasn't a house ... it felt like a home!

Thank you so much for helping make it the perfect occasion!

Loved the layout of the lodge as well as as all the amenities. Lovely and spacious yard with beautiful views. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay then you will love it.
