Second-floor oceanfront home with outdoor pool, hot tub, pool table, & W/D

Nelton's Nest Unit 201 #815 is a tastefully furnished, second-floor corner retreat with a large wrap-around sundeck and oceanfront views. It offers a queen bed in the main bedroom and two single beds in the additional bedroom. Three TVs with Blu-Ray players and a stereo are available for your entertainment.

The Durant Station Condominiums offer spectacular ocean views from every property. All condos have private oceanfront decks, as well as sound side decks for viewing colorful sunsets. Elevator service to all levels makes Durant Station a most convenient choice for all ages: no need to haul luggage and groceries up long flights of stairs! Guests are just a few short steps to the ocean via a private wooden walkway. The Hatteras area offers some of the best fishing and sunbathing on the East Coast.

At Durant Station, you'll enjoy a host of amenities including one of Hatteras Island's largest private pools with an adjacent hot tub available from April 1 through January 2. The Durant Station Community Center is 'crowned' by the original historic Durant Lifesaving Station tower, a rich piece of Hatteras Islands past. You'll find the Community Center ideal for relaxing with friends, conducting meetings, wedding parties, and receptions, or simply enjoying the lounge areas, which offer a large 50' TV, and a complete kitchen on the upper level. The Durant Station complex consists of three floors, which start about 12 feet above the ground. The parking lot and walks are paved with concrete.

All units are tastefully furnished and fully equipped with linens to make your stay comfortable as well as memorable. All Durant Station condos have central A/C, cable TV with HBO, Satellite HDTV with DVR, wireless high-speed internet for your laptop, solid surface counters in the kitchen, and sprinkler safety systems for your peace of mind.

Centrally located on the first floor is a coin-operated laundry facility (which even offers an ocean view). Some retreats have a stackable washer/dryer (see individual descriptions). A large separate fish cleaning station, BBQ grills, and outdoor shower facilities complete the picture.

Great condo-Beautiful Beaches!

Overall this is a wonderful place to stay with a nice condo and beautiful beaches. Drawbacks: they allow dogs which will bark at you and just annoying! They provide very few wash clothes and toilet paper! Bring your own!! Overall a good place to stay!

We really enjoyed the location with the great views and the house was nicely decorated. Sunny all week but if we were stuck inside it would be a great house to sit out the rain. Nice modern house. Nicely furnished condo right on the beach

Great location, with just a sand dune between the building and the ocean, and this is one of the relatively few condos in the building with a second bedroom and bath - and a balcony twice the size of the 1-bedrooms, with a table and benches allowing you to eat outdoors overlooking the ocean. We found it much better cared for than other condos we've rented in the area, perhaps because the owner spends a good bit of time there himself. Great place to stay - and the building has an elevator and luggage carts (kept in the first floor laundry room) to help you move all your stuff in, a great help.

Okay place to stay

Definitely further away from tourist area of the outer banks. Great access to the beach. Elevator was broken and we couldn’t find the washer and dryer after checking the property. Kitchen was empty, not even salt and pepper. There was men’s underwear left on the balcony. Perfect size for a family of four. Overall I would say this is an okay place to stay.

Thank you for sharing your experience, we're pleased that our home was a good fit for your family and that you enjoyed the beach access. That said, we apologize for any cleanliness details that were missed and our local manager passed your comments along to housekeeping. To clarify, the building is maintained by an HOA and they handle the maintenance for the elevator and we're glad to report it is up and running now. The laundry room is located on the first floor between units 109 and 110 and we're sorry for any inconvenience. We hope to have the opportunity to better impress you in the future and provide an amazing vacation experience.

The home was beautiful. It had everything we needed; kitchen supplies, towels, pool maintenance check ins, etc. The view was beautiful; beach view in the front, sunsets in the back. Easy walk to the beach and a nice dead end road for the kids to ride their bikes on safely. My only complaint is there was no shade by the pool but we made our own, it was fine. Comfortable condo with great views of the ocean

Pros: This condo has a spacious, wrap-around deck. The pool is very nice: clean, not too cold, plenty of lounge chairs and tables, rarely crowded. Easy access to the beach. The condo has two bedrooms and bathrooms, and the master bath even has a large, two-sink vanity. The kitchen seems to have newer appliances and everything you should need for preparing basic meals during your stay. The building itself has an elevator which comes in handy unpacking and carrying big loads. There is a shared laundry facility on the first floor. It was very clean, air-conditioned and never being used in our experience. Cons: Closets in the master bedroom were unusable during our stay (one was locked and the other was being used to store rolled-up carpets and other materials). It's not that much of a problem, though, because there is a large, new dresser in the master bedroom. Also some of the condo furniture seems to need replacement, like the living area couch, which just feels/looks dirty, and the night table in the second bedroom (warped areas on the wood, etc.) The area is beautiful and peaceful. Be careful if you plan to swim in the ocean with children because there is no lifeguard on this beach. However, there are other lifeguarded beaches nearby (within a short drive). We used a website to check for ocean safety flags daily because they don't fly on the beach here. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay! The proximity to the beach, amenities, and comfort of this condo make it well worth the price.
