About Laura Garcia

We bought this home so our children could continue to grow up together as family. Sarah, originally from Kansas, JoAnne, originally from Kentucky, and Laura from Virginia decided to join together to give David and Annabelle their own slice of Tybee heaven. Our kids and dogs just love their Tybee getaway and we hope that you will too!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed here for 5 nights, lots of space. We had 2 children & 4 adults in our group, so having 2 baths was very nice. Everything was very clean and airy. I especially liked having all the different places to sit & read, indoors & out, however my favorite was the dock house. The neighborhood is very quiet, and it's nice to walk or bike to the Crab Shack for a bite. Furnishings were very nice, linens like you would have in your own home, kitchen was very well furnished also. We look forward to coming back soon.

Perfect friend and family getaway.

  • 5 of 5

This lovely home was the perfect place to meet friends from far away for a week. The separate living quarters plus dock house gave each of us plenty of space for reading and the ability to easily go to bed and rise in our own time. We were able to host a large family party with Savannah family and friends, too. We loved watching the tide come in and out and seeing all the birds that lived in the marsh. Had a great day of guided kayaking to Little Tybee, ate wonderful seafood, walked the beaches, and shopped, then also had time for Savannah history tours and art galleries. A wonderful week.

Richard's Family

  • 5 of 5

Spent Thanksgiving (4 nights) at this cost/effective, comfortable house. One of the best of about 20 VRBO/Airbnb rentals we have had. Two slept upstairs and 4 downstairs in this bi-level house with two kitchens. Most of our combined leisure time was spent in the spacious upstairs, with separate breakfasts up and downstairs (due to waking preferences). Well-stocked kitchens and clean comfortable beds and furniture. Separate well-furnished dock house with huge table was nice. The property was on a quaint canal away from, but still close to, the pleasant Tybee beach. Took great guided tours of the nearby marches (3 hours), the beach (1 hour) and Savannah (on-off-trolley plus theater performance). Superb weather in the high 70s with no rain. Very good restaurants nearby on island and Savannah. The renters communicated well with us and took the extra step of sending 2 shirts to us that we left behind: this shows their kindness beyond the call of duty.

Charming Creekside Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My family and I (spouse, two grandparents, two dogs, and one beach-loving boy) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bye Bye Blues. The house is beach casual, but well appointed for those who appreciate the finer things in life. The furnishings and decor are carefully curated and make the house feel warm and personal. The floor plan (essentially two stacked apartments connected by a covered outdoor staircase) was the perfect arrangement for two families. We early birds took the bottom floor, and left the upstairs flat for the sleepier grandparents. There are stacked screened-in porches off the back of each level, looking out on the tidal creek--so no worries about drinking a cup of coffee outside before others have awoken. We had kayaks dropped off for us and loved paddling along the connecting creeks. At high tide, you could paddle all the way to the ocean. The floating dock was a beautiful perch for watching birds skim the water for fish and the comings and goings of boats along the creek. The house and yard, though, are perfectly private. And the boat house is a fantastic waterside dining pavilion. It was definitely hot when we visited in early August, but there always seemed to be a cooling breeze in the backyard, on the dock, and of course at the beach. And the air conditioning on both levels worked very well, so we were perfectly comfortable.

Thanksgiving in Savannah

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 traveled down from Maine to explore Savannah for the first time, and found this gem. It was a perfect place for us. Being on the inlet was great, the boathouse was the home for our Thanksgiving dinner. We walked every morning just around the surrounding roads; saw so many birds. The house itself was very clean and roomy, a perfect hangout for all of us. We frequented the Crab Shack often, what a great place. Highly recommended, this is a wonderful house, perfectly located between Savannah and Tybee Island beach area.

Dreamy!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had moved away from Savannah almost two years ago. We had recently sold our house so we wanted to do something nice to spoil ourselves, our friends, and our families. This house was perfect! It was even better than the pictures showed! The house is beautiful! Everything was very clean and as promised, all essentials were provided. First, the fenced in yard for our dogs was the best! They were so happy and we loved feeling safe to let them just run wild. Our friends came the first part of the week and it was great! The girls cooked dinner in the great little upstairs kitchen while the guys grilled out, then we all met in the dock house to eat and drink wine. And relax!!! Its so dreamy! The fam came for the second half of the week and we enjoyed fishing off the dock and relaxing on the patios. It really was just a perfect week and everyone agreed it should be an annual event!
