A Cabin in the Woods - surrounded by the river, trees and wildlife

The River House is a secluded cabin nestled between the Purcell Mountains and the Blaeberry River.

The River House is a two bedroom cabin, which sleeps 4 adults and 2 children. It has a full kitchen, fireplace, hot tub, t.v. with streaming, blue-ray, internet and laundry facilities.

The River House is located on 8 acres of wooded land and is the only rental cabin on the property. The other house on the property is ours. You can wake up every morning and while eating breakfast watch a majestic scene of the Blaeberry River.

The River House boasts peace and quiet, but for those that are looking for adventure, the House also includes the use of the 'shed'. In the shed there is a place to store and clean your equipment, which includes skis, bikes, sleds, ATVs, and all other equipment you may bring with you.

This place was so much more than we were expecting! Just what we needed. Peaceful, quiet and so beautiful inside and outside. Beds were so comfortable we all slept better than we had in ages. We wanted snow for Christmas and wow, we got it! Beautiful. We were pleasantly surprised owners had even gone above and beyond with lights, decorations and yes, a Christmas tree! Highly recommend staying here, we will be back in the summer!

We had a great few days away from the city. Even when rainy, there are games, toys, movies and an Xbox to keep you (or the kids) entertained. Having the river right in your backyard was definitely a highlight. Beds and linens were very comfortable. We had everything we needed, definitely the most well stocked place we have ever rented. Thank you for being such great hosts, looking forward to visiting again sometime in the future.

Great getaway!

My friend and I enjoyed our stay at the river house. Cabin was comfortable and clean. Had everything we needed. Beautiful drive coming in. One night the power went out for several hours and the hosts graciously shared their dinner with us. Very private. Just a short stroll through trees to the river. Great base for visiting the national parks. Would definitely recommend. Just be prepared for mosquitoes!

Peaceful stay

We really felt away from it all here. Peaceful, beautiful surroundings. Host friendly and welcoming and had set up the fire pit ready for us and fresh eggs available too. We only stayed 2 nights and had planned to go out for the day but changed our minds and just spent the day relaxing around the cabin. Saw the beavers and other wildlife as well as the cows and chickens! We would stay here again.

From the moment we arrived I knew this place was special. So much thought was put into making us feel at home...everything you could possibly want or need was there. River House is amazing

Antionette and Grant have a beautiful cottage near Golden BC. It is out in the country but is close to so many National and Provincial Parks you never are at a loss for something to do. We visited in May and appreciated the fireplace, and hot tub. The beds are super comfortable and the owners have two lovely dogs that can visit it you like.

Absolutely awesome

Our stay at Antoinette and Grant was absolutely fabulous. The cabin was really clean and neat. Thank you Grant for introducing me to playing horseshoes. The scenery and nature walks was rejuvenating and we feel well rested after our stay. I am hesitant to recommend anyone to stay here as I will not be able to get a booking to go back there.... ;-) But seriously, you need to do yoyrself the favour and go visit Grant and Antoinette. There lovely two dogs will make you feel right at home as well

It was a very private cute cabin with all the amentities of home. It was very nice getting back from our national parks adventures to a very quiet and stress free part of Golden.

A secluded mountain paradise indeed

The cabin is very beautiful, cozy and tastefully decorated and offers a great view into the garden and over the mountains. We had a wonderful time there, enjoying a barbecue, reading and soaking in the hot tub after hiking in the nearby national parks.

We had a wonderful stay in Golden. The property was lovely. It was spotless and very comfortable. We saw so much nature in the area. If you are looking for some quiet seclusion, but close to lots of activities (we did rafting, paragliding, canoeing, and visited the golden skybridge, a buffalo ranch and the world's largest paddle!), then this is just perfect.

Best staycation!

We enjoyed this peaceful, lovely home in Golden. You can feel the breeze and hear the sound of the river and birds in the morning, making you stay home and enjoy your morning coffee. The place boasts of its surroundings, mountains, and rivers. The RiverHouse is clean, well equipped with what you will be needing to feel you are at home. The backyard is big and we enjoyed playing volleyball in the afternoon. We enjoyed the private hot tub at night. The place is close to downtown where you can visit local restaurants and bakeries. We got to enjoy our small trip to Golden Farmer's Market on a Wednesday packed with fresh fruits and vegetables, honey, and many enjoyable local products. We also enjoyed our trips to Thompson Falls and many places in Yoho National Park. Antoinette and Grant were so great with responding right away when we had questions. The map and directions sent to us were so helpful in finding this secluded home. Thank you both for letting us stay and enjoy your place. Highly recommended and we will return to Riverhouse, for sure!

Great Hospitality!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. The cabin had everything we needed and was well cared for. We appreciated the hosts keeping us informed before our stay regarding the Canadian wildfires. Antoinette went out of her way to be sure we had everything we needed and were happy. We recommend this property!

We are a couple who work in Calgary but play in Golden. Golden is a short commute from Calgary and this property allows us to enjoy everything the mountains have to offer.

In the winter we can go skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, or strap on our cross country skis and headed out for a day of touring from the deck.

In the summer we can drive up the road 7km for a beautiful day hike to a gorgeous waterfall. Or we can grab our fishing rods and step off the deck into the Blaeberry River.

This property was purchased because it is a location where we can play all year round. We love the fact that this cabin is the only rental cabin on the property and we are surrounded by 8 acres of wooded seclusion. This allows us to get away from the hustle and bustle of Calgary, AB and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

We love to sit on the deck in the evenings with friends/family and listen to the Blaeberry River or in the mornings drink a cup of coffee and watch the sun light up the beautiful Purcell mountains just outside the door step.
