A true highlight: the historic "Gabrielswarft" vacation home has been lovingly restored and stands out as a “jewel” with a historic facade topped by a traditional Nordic thatched roof. Beautiful, peaceful, and cozy.
The Location
The house is located in the popular Dagebüll neighborhood of Fahretoft and offers ideal opportunities for a wellness vacation with your dog, as well as a starting point for exploring the North Sea, the Wadden Sea National Park with its Hallig islands and the islands of Föhr, Amrum, and Sylt, as well as for excursions to the Baltic Sea and Denmark.
Nature lovers will find plenty to enjoy here. The Wadden Sea—unique in the world, an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, and a national park—is practically right on your doorstep. Discover Europe’s most bird-rich area and Germany’s most significant natural region.
Schleswig-Holstein offers cultural, culinary, and sporting highlights all year round that are easily accessible from here, such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival or the Schleswig-Holstein Gourmet Festival, which is highly sought after by foodies.
The ancient village of Fahretoft was already well known long before the 16th century. Today, Fahretoft lies in the heart of the North Frisian mainland
; however, this was not always the case. Fahretoft began its history as a hallig and lay in the middle of the North Sea for many centuries. It was only with the construction of the dikes that the village became connected to the mainland. As a result, many houses in the village center are built on so-called mounds.
Fahretoft has also made a name for itself as an artists’ village and is today one of the quiet and tranquil communities that are very popular and in high demand as vacation destinations, even among non-North Frisians.
The nearest shopping area is about 8 km away (Dagebüll Harbor). There you’ll also find restaurants, a café, and the green beach.
