We had a wonderful weekend at this property! It was the perfect size for our family and so convenient to all of the activities in the Taylor’s Falls area! We had everything we needed to prepare and have meals inside and the fire and hot tub were extra perks! The cabin was beautifully decorated and the instructions were clear and concise. We will definitely come back!
The property was exactly as advertised. Brand new and one of the best thought out and planned vacation rentals we have stayed at. Everything was very modern, including the appliances and Wi-Fi, but it still had somewhat of a rustic country charm with the ship plank design and self done woodworking. The beds and linen were top-notch and very comfortable. There were electrical outlets where you wanted them and tables and nightstands where you would want them as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessities. There are toys for toddlers and babies. The location is perfect toward the back of the property up on the hill overlooking a beautiful verdant green pasture. No worries about running out of a hot water because of the tankless water heater. The information binder in the rental was very detailed and listed eateries close by to including the Lindstrom bakery and the German meat market across the street in the nearby town of Lindstrom .Ann and Russ are great hosts and very responsive.I would highly recommend staying here if your travel plans include this area. The value and cleanliness and ease of the process was all top notch. You won’t be disappointed..
It was an absolutely gorgeous property with a lot of amenities. Every detail in the house was perfectly curated for a relaxing, peaceful getaway. The host was very responsive and welcoming. It was a perfect place to reset and recharge.

About the host
Hosted by Ann Couwenhoven
We moved from Minneapolis to this tranquil, vast space for the benefit of our large family and others needing a place to re-set and roam free. We currently run a non-profit which provides a free education to pastors in Ethiopia, Kenya and India. When we are not overseas, we live down the hill from this Scandinavian Retreat. We warmly invite you into this slice of solitude which is dearly needed in our crazy world.
Why they chose this property
We chose to build in the Taylor's Falls area because of the natural beauty and vast amenities. Within 5 minutes you can find yourself at a lake, on a trail or strolling the shops of small-town America. The coffee shops, bakery and restaurants nearby are plentiful and fabulous! This is a year-round vacation destination. The Chisago Lakes area doesn't die in the winter, it is popping with life. Jump on the state snowmobile trail directly from our property, no need to trailer your sleds to reach an access point. Two ski resorts are withing 15 minutes, and the fishing on North Center Lake is known for Walley, Pike, and Large Mouth Bass. I cannot think of a better location to find the activities and vibe you are looking for.
What makes this property unique
There are 20 acres of waving Buffalo grass and mowed trails surrounding our retreat. It is complete serenity. Take in a spectacular sunset from hammocks in the Elm tree row. Let your children run free without fear of traffic or strangers. This is life as it was meant to be lived. Your peace is waiting.
