The house Lahr is a detached house in Waldstatt (Canton Appenzell - near St Gallen) on a large plot. It offers great comfort (free internet use, garage and. Parking for cars) and is well equipped for families with 4 to 6 people. There are three bedrooms (one with a balcony), a large kitchen with all imaginable extras and granite worktop, two bathrooms (one with a washing machine), a living room, storage room and cellar. You have an unobstructed view of the surrounding mountain panorama from all rooms. The car can be loaded and unloaded in the garage. In addition, a bed, a high chair and a special backpack are available for small children (this allows the child to be carried on hikes).
Skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, winter hiking, ice skating and many other things are possible in winter. There are several ski areas nearby.
In summer, mountain hiking, hiking, swimming (also in the outdoor pool only 50m from the house), paragliding, cycling, golf and much more are possible. The peaks can be easily reached with the nearby cable cars. At 850 meters above sea level M live in your own house and enjoy the landscape and the mountain panorama with an unobstructed view in all directions - that's what is offered here. The large garden, terrace and balcony are available for single use. 50m away there is a heated outdoor pool with a playground and restaurants. The house is about 10 km away from St. Gallen with a cultural offer such as a historic monastery, museums, theater, gallery, art gallery, casino, cafes, restaurants, pedestrian zone, etc. Water sports, sailing, windsurfing and swimming on Lake Constance (25 km away) are very attractive in summer.
The nearby golf course in Gonten (15 minutes by car - 18-hole course, par 70) - 910 m above sea level is very interesting, because of its mountain location it offers interesting playing opportunities. A paragliding school is nearby. Hikes can also be started from the house. Cycling, mountain hiking and even a child-friendly visit to the zoo in nearby Gossau are only a fraction of the many possibilities.

Great Location; Comfortable house.

We enjoyed our stay in Waldstatt. The house was in a nice location for us to travel to various places in the region. We do wish there had been a charcoal or gas grill and a dryer. The kitchen was very nice and very well stocked will all the items we needed. The children enjoyed the bunk beds.

A great place to explore a beautiful part of Switzerland

We had a great time at Matthias' property. Matthias was extremely helpful beforehand in terms of instructions and details about the property. The house is in a great location and is very comfortable, with just the right furnishings and equipment. We used it as a base for exploring a truly beautiful part of Switzerland as well as the nearby town of St Gallen. It was very easy to do a number of good walks from the house itself.

In deze vrijstaande woning hebben we met ons gezin een fijne vakantie gehad. De woning is eenvoudig maar wel heel compleet. Waldstatt is een fijn dorp om te verblijven. Met het zwembad en de vrij toegankelijke sportvelden op 1 minuut lopen afstand, prachtige natuur in de directe omgeving en hooggebergte op korte afstand om geweldige dagwandelingen te maken, maakte ons verblijf tot een succes.

Wir haben alles wie im Inserat beschrieben vorgefunden. Das Haus liegt am Ende einer Anliegerstraße, kein Durchgangsverkehr o. ä. Jetzt im Winter konnten unsere Kinder direkt am Haus Schlitten fahren. Die Umgebung spricht für sich. Herr Krieg war ein sehr angenehmer Gastgeber und bei Fragen stets erreichbar.

Nestjes en kompleet

Mooi groot huis makkelijke inchecken misschien niet super de luxe maar wel over kompleet je kan het niet bedenken en het is er. Goed lokatie veel bezienswaardigheden in minder dan 30 minuten met de auto. Anders is het treinstation met als de bakker en super op loop afstand

Het huis heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. Belangrijk voor mijn tieners ; de Wifi werkt perfect! Boodschappen doen in Herisau op minder dan 10 minuten rijden. Goede uitvalsbasis om leuke dingen te doen in de omgeving.Voor ons is dit huis een aanrader....

We came from Florida so having a nice warm home was very important to us. We also had warm communications with the owner although he is not in the community. He had friends nearby helping us as needed. Looking forward to coming back!

Mehr Schein als Sein

Seit März dieses Jahres braucht es einen Chip zum Öffnen des Tores fürs Recyclen, der beim Einwohnermeldeamt bezogen werden kann. Es ist trotz anders lautender Beschreibung ebenfalls möglich, den Müll am Donnerstag an die (Haupt-) Strasse zu stellen. Ferner war etwa die Hälfte aller Lampen defekt. Dann waren da noch die Handtücher. Fast alle haben muffig gestunken und einige Geschirrtücher hatten (Schimmel-?) Flecken. Ausserdem hatte es mehr Elektrogeräte mit deutschem Stecker als es Adapter im Haus hatte - das war recht Mühsam. Es war ziemlich enttäuschend, dass es NUR eine Filterkaffeemaschine hatte. Teppiche stinken schnell muffig und sind für Allergiker alles andere als vorteilhaft. Im Erdgeschoss hat es immer noch sehr muffig gestunken, trotzdem wir über einer Woche täglich mehrmals ausgiebig gelüftet hatten. Wir waren auch entsetzt, wie schmutzig Geschirr, Kochtöpfe, Bratpfannen und die Besteckschublade waren. Die Bratpfannen waren auch schon sehr verkratzt und abgenutzt, so dass sich die Frage stellte, ob diese noch ohne Gesundheitsgefährdung benutzt werden konnten. Die Tischdecke vom Esstisch wies ebenfalls noch Essensreste auf, so dass wir uns entschlossen haben, diese nicht zu benutzen. In der Beschreibung auf der Seite FeWo-direkt.de heisst es, dass es eine Luxusküche hat. Dies mag mit viel good will vom äusseren Schein zutreffen, jedoch nicht vom Inhalt. Das Geschirr war zum grössten Teil schon recht abgenutzt und bestand aus einem grossen Sammelsurium. Obwohl es in der Beschreibung heisst, dass das Haus grossen Komfort bietet und für sechs Personen bestens gerüstet ist, waren noch nicht einmal genügend Tassen / Becher und Teelöffel für 6 Personen vorhanden. Überhaupt weicht die Beschreibung auf der Internetseite sehr von der Realität ab. Obwohl es "Großes freistehendes Ferienhaus, familienfreundlich, Traumlage, St Gallen, WLAN" heisst, ist es doch eher ein kleines Haus mit gewissem Komfort. Von Traumlage könnte man allenfalls sprechen, wenn es eine entsprechende Aussicht (Berge, See etc.) gäbe. Allerdings liegt das Haus verkehrstechnisch sehr günstig, so dass man bequem innerhalb kurzer Zeit diverse Sehenswürdigkeiten erreichen kann. Nur dass wir uns nicht falsch verstehen. Wir fühlten uns in dem Haus wohl und hatten uns trotz 1 Woche "schlechtem" Wetter gut erholt. Jedoch wurden viele Erwartungen bezüglich des Hauses aufgrund übertriebener und unrealistischer Formulierungen und der tatsächlichen Umstände nicht erfüllt - schade.

Beware of garbage disposal that falls on you, as there in no garbage collection service in Waldstatt

It was a very quiet and nice place. We had trouble understanding where and how to dispose of the garbage. The instructions about this were only in German and we were not accustomed to the habits of Switzerland. Next time we will know!
