About the host

Hosted by Sherri Simmons

Host profile image
Sherri and Joel are lifelong Mainers who love the outdoors and believe some of life's best moments happen when you slow down and spend time in nature.

Sherri is a middle school math teacher with a passion for designing and building unique tiny cabins. What began as a single cabin project in 2020 quickly grew into a dream. In 2022, they purchased 100 wooded acres so they could continue creating one-of-a-kind getaways where guests can unplug, reconnect, and experience the beauty of Maine.

Each cabin is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted, with custom details inspired by the surrounding forest. From natural wood accents to cozy gathering spaces, Sherri's goal is simple: to create places that feel welcoming, peaceful, and memorable.

Joel works as a labor relations specialist and helps bring the projects to life, while together they enjoy sharing their little corner of Maine with guests from near and far.

We hope you'll love your stay as much as we've loved creating it.

Why they chose this property

Whitefield is a beautiful, small town in Maine. The population is just over 2000 people with a growing Amish community. Tiny Cabins of Maine sits on 100 areas along Givens Pond. Nearby hikes, general stores, and friendly Maine charm make this a unique getaway experience.

What makes this property unique

Treesa is more than a place to stay—it's a handcrafted experience. Every inch of this tiny treehouse was thoughtfully designed and built with comfort, creativity, and nature in mind. You'll find handmade branch cabinet pulls and curtain rods, a live-edge oak shelf, a cozy wood stove, and warm pine throughout, creating a space that feels both rustic and welcoming. Relax in the private hot tub beneath the trees, enjoy your morning coffee on the deck, or spend the evening by the fire after exploring the water and trails. Treesa was created for guests looking for something memorable—not perfect, but authentic, peaceful, and unlike anywhere else.
