Why Pete Dolley chose Vassalboro
My grandparents built a seasonal camp on this location in the early 1960's. At that time it was all family that lived in the cove, my grandfather and grandmother's sisters families were neighbors. Webber Pond has always been sentimental to me ever since I was a kid and spent summers camping here.

Great cabin! Highly recommend it!
I highly recommend Pete's cabin! The view of the lake through the huge wall of windows is fabulous. The cabin itself is clean and comfy, the kitchen has all the utensils and tools you could need - and the indoor hammock chair is a relaxing retreat. We had a lovely weekend and hope to go back.
A place both of tranquility and recreation.
We had a wonderful visit to Pete's retreat! Although the weather didn't cooperate for most of our visit we still got in lots of fun . Fishing, kayaking, swimming, lots of close up eagle viewing, hummingbirds, frog visits, s'mores by the pond fire. Great wifi, TV reception and tons of DVD's and video gaming options as well. The view from inside on the couch and outside on the property were amazing. The cabin has literally all the amenities of home yet a its world away from it all! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The decor and touches of whimsy were fun to view. The nighttime brought out lots of colors of various cute solar lighting all around the property.
A Little Bit Of Heaven In A Hectic World
We absolutely loved our stay at Pete's Retreat and given the opportunity we will definitely be back for another visit. It was so peaceful and quiet. We were able to relax and enjoy the quiet and beauty of Webber Pond. We took the kayak and the canoe out for an afternoon of exploration. We relaxed on the deck and enjoyed some wine and reading. All around just a great place to stay. Pete's collection of Patriots, Red Sox and music memorabilia is impressive and fun to check out. Our time there flew by and we were sad to leave.
Perfect-immaculate cabin, fishing, canoeing, bald eagles, kayaks, close to everything
We loved our stay at Pete's Retreat. He thought of everything to make the stay as comfortable and home-like as possible. It was spotless when we arrived and he had the air conditioner on so it was comfortable. We arrived late at night and the porch light was on, with solar light decorations in the yard.
The beds were incredibly comfortable. Every convenience imaginable in a cabin was present, including wifi and cable.
We enjoyed swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and fishing. Our 11 year old son fished for hours every day. A bald eagle sat above our heads watching us fish, then dove down for a treat in front of us. Everyone on the lake was friendly. The neighboring cabin was closer than we thought and full with a large multi-family get away, but they were really great. They offered us firewood our first night there and later invited the kids over for an outdoor movie shown on a big screen on the house.
Outside of the activities at the cabin, it was only a one hour drive to Bangor. It was also only a two hour drive to the Mt. Washington Auto Road-very accessible to different places in any direction. We could go away for a few hours and still have plenty of time to enjoy the nature at the cabin.
Thank you for this opportunity and sharing your home.
The cabin was great along with the view. The kids enjoyed swimming and fishing. Peter went out of his way to make our stay complete.
Relaxation at it's finest!
Immaculately kept cabin! Much better than the pictures showed. Unbelievably beautiful view of sunrise in the morning. The owner, Pete, was very responsive to all messages.Highly recommend!
