Why Peter W. Dolley chose Kennebec Valley (Central Maine)

My grandparents built a seasonal camp on this location in the early 1960's. At that time it was all family that lived in the cove, my grandfather and grandmother's sisters families were neighbors. Webber Pond has always been sentimental to me ever since I was a kid and spent summers camping here.

Great spot -- good value!

  • 5 of 5

Great spot in the middle of the Maine woods on Webber Pond. The cabin is well equipped and comfortable (could use a little more light in the bathroom). Would definitely stay again.

Try dinner at the Parsonage Inn in Vassalboro (with reservation).

Owner is a strong Red Sox supporter, but he should have bet on the Indians in 2016.

A Cleveland fan!

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Immaculate property and view with everything you need to relax. The lake (no way it's a pond!) is magnificent with few islands you can visit and have barbecue. Owner has made sure we've had everything to enjoy our stay, which we did and highly recommend it.

Great long weekend!

  • 4 of 5

This is a great rental for the price. Webber Pond is beautiful, don't let "Pond" fool you it is big. The canoe and kayak are a bonus. We went after Labor Day so it was pretty quiet which we loved. The cabin had everything we needed. The ONLY drawback was how steep the property is, not child or elderly friendly. We enjoyed so many other treats; loons, a daily fly-by from a bald eagle, plenty of bass right off the dock and a huge firepit that we used every night. Cabin itself was clean and spacious. Pete was helpful throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone without small children or trouble getting around.

Great location with loons calling in the background. We had an excellent time out on the water swimming and canoeing. The home was as advertised. We had a small campfire in the evening and enjoyed the quiet after living in the city (Boston).

Peace is Always Beautiful!

Where do we start? 5 stars is not enough. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind Pete's retreat is where you need to be. Everything you need is there for you and if it's not Pete will be right over with it. The home is very comfortable with all the amenities! Now let's talk about the AMAZING view, doesn't matter if it's sunrise, middle of the day or sunset...Just plain beautiful! We spent a week here and only left twice to go to the grocery store. You HAVE to rent the boat it's the best way to see and enjoy the lake. We spent most of our time out on the water fishing, photographing eagles, loons and osprey, it doesn't get any better than that! We will definitely have a return visit! Thanks Pete for everything.
