Cosy, rustic timber house "Eiketun", 100 m a.s.l., built in 1960, renovated in 2017, surrounded by trees and meadows. 2 km from the centre of Olden, on the outskirts, 16 km from the centre of Stryn, 55 km from the centre of Sandane, on a slope, 5 km from the lake, 500 m from the fijord, in the countryside. Private: natural state property 2'000 m2. In the house: bicycle rental. 20 m footpath to the house. Parking at the house. Shop 2 km, bus stop "Olden cruise kai" 1 km, railway station "Otta" 202 km, ferry "Bergen" 280 km, shingle beach "Avleivika" 3 km, indoor swimming pool 16 km, lake Oldevatn 5 km. Gondola lift 7 km, fishing possibilities 1 km.

Great house for holiday

The house was at first big for 2 persons, but after a while of getting used to it, it was great! House has everything you need and is clean. Nice fireplace and good kitchen and bathroom. We enjoyed the fire in the outside tripod with the view very much in the evening!! Wifi is a bit slow/sometimes not working. Great place to stay if you want the "authentic" feeling and want to enjoy the superb environment and go on daytrips.

Haus mit tollem Fjordblick und rustikalem Charme

Wir haben uns in diesem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt und der Vermieter war freundlich und kommunikativ. Die Betten waren gut. Auch die Küche war ausreichend gut ausgestattet. Allerdings gab es leider nur eine mittelgroße Pfanne und nicht allzu viele Gläser. Der Kaminofen funktionierte sehr gut und sogar das Holz wurde zur Verfügung gestellt, so dass das Wohnzimmer jederzeit blitzschnell warm war. Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen war die Deckenhöhe. Unter den Deckenbalken passen aufrecht nur Menschen unter ca. 175 cm Größe hindurch. Wir können dieses Ferienhaus empfehlen und würden wiederkommen.

... wenn man mal von den Kreuzfahrtschiffen unten im Hafen absieht. Da wir viel unterwegs waren, haben uns die Schiffe nicht weiter gestört. Die Lage des Ferienhauses ist genial: weiter Blick über den Fjord und jeden Abend ein anderer Sonnenuntergang. Man kann auch direkt am Ort bzw. in direkter Nähe (Loen) ganz gut wandern. Das Haus selbst hat alles, was man braucht, um sich wohl zu fühlen. Und sauber war es auch. Gerne wieder.

Norwegisch-rustikal in toller Lage

Das Ferienhaus Eiketun liegt erhöht am Ende eines Ausläufers des Nordfjords schräg oberhalb des Anlegers für Kreuzfahrt- und Frachtschiffe. Ein Supermarkt und Souvenirgeschäfte sind innerhalb weniger Minuten mit dem Auto oder fußläufig erreichbar. Direkt am Haus vorbei läuft ein Wanderweg hoch zum Aussichtspunkt Huaren mit einem fantastischen Blick auf den Fjord. Unbedingt machen, wenn die Kreuzfahrtreisenden wieder weg sind, denn dann steht man auch mal alleine dort oben. Weitere Ausflugsziele sind der Gletscher Briksdalsbreen, Wanderungen zum oder auf den nahe gelegenen Skarsteinfjellet (1566 m) oder eine Tretbootfahrt auf dem Fjord, die man in Loen machen kann. Man kann dort auch mit der Seilbahn auf das Ski-/Wandergebiet fahren, über eine Hängebrücke über einen atemberaubenden Abgrund gehen, Kajakfahren oder ein Hubschrauberrundflug buchen (war uns allerdings alles zu teuer). Zwischen Loen und Olden liegt ein kleiner Parkplatz, über den man zu einem kleine Strand kommen kann. Das Nachbartal um den Lovatnet haben wir viel zu spät entdeckt. Auch hier sind tolle Wanderungen, eine Bootstour etc. in dem durch seine dramatische Geschichte geprägtem Tal möglich. Die Ausstattung ist gut: Es ist (bis auf einen Wasserkocher) alles vorhanden. Gutes, ausreichendes Internet. Unverkennbar auch eine weibliche, aufmerksame und dekorierende Hand, sodass man überall Teelichter, ausreichend Decken oder auch Wollsocken auf der Treppe am Eingang findet. Danke dafür! Die Fotos auf Fe-Wo entsprechen zu 100% der Realität. Achtung: Große Menschen sollten sich aufgrund der teilweisen niedrigen Decken- und Balkenhöhe vorsichtig bewegen. Wir geben allerdings einen Punkt Abzug, da zwar alles vorhanden ist, aber einige Dinge, die noch funktionieren oder grundsätzlich nutzbar sind, ersetzt werden könnten. Auch kann hier und da die ein oder andere Schraube nachgezogen werden. Zudem haben wir bei Anreise Informationen vermisst. Wir waren zum ersten Mal in Norwegen und haben z. B. verzweifelt die Mülltonnen gesucht (ist in Ferienhäusern nicht üblich). Oder Infos darüber, dass für 2 der 3 Heizkörper die Lampen eingeschaltet werden müssen (Achtung: Es reicht völlig, wenn die kleinen, aber effektiven Heizkörper nur stundenweise laufen!) Probleme wurden schnell gelöst, der Vermieter war immer erreichbar. Alles in allem ein schönes Haus in toller Lage, für die eine Woche eigentlich nicht reicht. Super Lage für Hundebesitzer!

Tolle rustikale Hütte mit besonderem Panoramablick

Super ausgestatte Hütte. Nur die Schere konnten wir nicht finden :-) Es war für alles gesorgt. Die Kommunikation ... war zu jeder Zeit möglich und immer problemlos. Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle! Perfekter Ort um die umliegenden Sehenswürdigkeiten zu erkunden. Kommen gerne wieder!
