Grand Caribe is one of the newest luxury resorts in Belize. Located on 500 feet of beautiful beach we are situated about 2 miles north of the San Pedro Town center. Please note that Google maps has the incorrect location as our condo is not in the town of San Pedro. The location is perfect - providing enough remoteness to be 'away from it all' but close enough to town to shop, dine, and get groceries! The barrier reef is about 1/2 mile off shore, so you can kayak out to the reef from our beautiful white sand beach and snorkel on the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere. The family friendly grounds, in addition to the beach, feature the most beautiful pier in Belize, three swimming pools, 2 hot tubs, volleyball, and hammocks for your relaxation. Grand Caribe also features a wonderful pool bar and grill for your dining pleasure, whether you want to dine poolside, on the pier, or in the privacy of your own condo.

Grand Caribe now has an on site grocery store and beautiful new rooftop restaurant/bar with gorgeous views of the lagoon. Also, a new fitness center is now on site with a variety of state of the art equipment.

Take a boat to the Blue Hole for a diving experience found nowhere else in the world. Enjoy everything Belize has to offer at the best Ambergris Caye resort for condo rentals, including scuba diving, fishing, Mayan ruins, jungle tours, zip lining and cave tubing.

Rent a golf cart to travel to and from the quaint town of San Pedro which is only 2 miles away. You can also take a water taxi to town that runs constantly during the day and evening hours. There are many fun activities on the island of Ambergris Caye, and the mainland of Belize. You won't be disappointed by selecting the Grand Caribe in San Pedro, as your destination, and you'll be even more satisfied staying in H1, steps from the Caribbean Sea, off your veranda, and steps from the large pool. We are also conveniently close to the Grand Caribe Bar & Grill , but far enough away to have peace and quiet. The dock is about 75 yards away where you can catch the ferry or meet your boat for the many exciting excursions available.

We think you will love our condo, and we will do everything we can to make your stay an enjoyable and memorable one. We can recommend restaurants, excursions, how to get around the quaint town of San Pedro and assist you with other travel requirements and reservations. Please feel free to contact us at the contact information provided.

Thank you for your interest!

Lastly, I would greatly appreciate that if you enjoyed your stay, to please write a review. Go to vrbo #554445.

About Lezlie Moreland

We live in the Annapolis, MD area and my husband and I are in the information technology industry which is high stress with lots of time commuting to the DC area. Between work, school, and sports it's difficult to find time to relax with the family. We have two teenagers - a boy who is 17 and girl who is 15.

We love to decompress in our new home in Belize and spend time with our two teens. Sometimes my husband and I come without the kids for a romantic get away.

Grand Caribe & Ambergris Caye is the epitome of relaxation - no cars, no rush, lots of sun, beautiful water, wonderful food, super friendly people, and plenty to do (or not)...

We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do and make time to relax and spend time with your loved ones!

Lezlie Moreland purchased this condo in 2011

Why Lezlie Moreland chose San Pedro

Our family has been traveling to Ambergris Caye since 2006 when our kids were just 7 and 9. We have traveled to many other Caribbean destinations and found that Ambergris has everything we looked for in an island retreat - safe for the kids, friendly locals who are never 'pushy' when promoting their crafts, English speaking country, great food, incredible snorkeling, diving, and fishing along with fantastic jungle adventures on the mainland. For us golfers, there's even a private island golf course 2 islands away!

Grand Caribe also has a super friendly, professional staff. We know many of the staff on first name basis and they are all so friendly and willing to make your stay stress free - from the maintenance folks to the cooks to the security guard to the front desk to the concierge to the waitresses/waiters....need I go on?

Combining H1's fantastic location with the Grand Caribe's luxury accommodations/service was a winner. Grand Caribe units include beautiful floors, Belizean wood cabinets, huge showers, gourmet kitchens, and so much space!

We love the Caribbean and were looking for a vacation home, investment, and retirement home in the Caribbean - and we believe we found the perfect home!

What makes this condo unique

We fell in love with Grand Caribe's H1 because of it's perfect location - on the beach/ocean, close to the bar & grill (but not too close), such a short walk to the dock.

One of our favorite things to do is to sit on our veranda looking at the aqua, blue, and green water while sipping our coffee in the morning, having a cold Belikin in the shade in the afternoon, or a glass of wine in the evening watching a beautiful full moon rise over the ocean while listening to the waves.

Perfect family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Planning the perfect vacation for two teenage boys and a young girl is always a challenge, but this condo at Grand Caribe hit the mark. First of all, Lezlie was extremely helpful with the reservation, and the information she provided regarding things to do and where to dine were invaluable. The condo itself was immaculate and had everything we needed. The Grand Caribe staff was very friendly and accommodating and promptly responded to every email I sent. We would love to return to Belize and stay here again.

Spectacular views, beautiful condo!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying in this property in Belize. The condo is very large, well maintained and beautifully decorated. It has amazing views of the white sandy beach and turquoise waters.

The owners, Jeff & Lezlie, gave us great information for things to do and places to eat. One of our highlights was our full day fishing, snorkeling excursion with Island Divers. We caught lots of fish and had our own guided snorkeling tour of the reef with Honor, one of the boat captains, as well as having ceviche from the fish we caught and a BBQ lunch on a private island. We rented a golf cart for 2 days and rode out to Secret Beach for a relaxing afternoon. The next day we went north on the island for a wonderful lunch at Portofino. One night we took the water taxi into town for a great dinner at Elvi's (a restaurant that has been there for 40 years).

The resort has a beautiful pool area and grounds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One morning we rented a tandem kayak and paddled out to a buoy near the reef. We were the only ones out there and enjoyed snorkeling the reef, seeing great coral and a variety of fish.

Our overall view of Ambergris Caye was very positive. The people are very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful meals there, especially the fresh seafood. I would highly recommend this condo and a trip to Belize!

My family was very impressed with the Grand Caribe facility and all its amenities

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time at the beach in Belize. After just coming from our jungle with no A/C we felt like we were in heaven with our view of the beach, easy wifi, and great food at the resort. We loved our time snorkeling, doing yoga next door at 9am, going on a sail boat excursion and fishing. The owner recommended great places to eat in walking distance and renting a golf cart on sight was easy too. The food on the property was delicious with huge portions, and we hope to come back some day.

Loved Belize and our wonderful condo at the Grand Caribe!

  • 5 of 5

Our first trip to Belize was filled with wonderful memories! This condo is an excellent place for a family or for a romantic trip for two couples. The condo is beautiful, clean, and decorated perfectly. The kitchen is a well-equiped with dishes, pots and pans, and appliances to cook meals or reheat left overs. The bedrooms are large and roomy, offer attractive linens, both have flat screen TVs, ample dresser and closet space to unpack and hide luggage. The master bedroom also offers a safe. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which are spacious and filled with wonderful linens--a plus if you're spoiled like me!

The living room offers a sitting area with another TV. The dining room is lovely although we never used it! There is a balcony where you will spend all your time eating and drinking coffee in the morning. It offers an amazing view.

The resort itself offers so many activities; we enjoyed the paddle boards, snorkling from the dock, and the kayaks. The reef, which is the second largest in the world, is roughly a one mile paddle from the shore. It's roughly a 20 minute paddle. There you can anchor your kayak, jump into the water, and snorkle. The water is waist high, crystal clear, and filled with beautiful coral, shells, and sea creatures.

We highly recommend this condo to anyone interested in having a great time!

perfect for us

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely 5 day stay at unit H1 at Gran Caribe in San Pedro, Belize. We thought both the unit and the resort were outstanding. The unit is beautifully outfitted and extremely well taken care of. Two large bedrooms with really nice baths and a well-appointed kitchen. The location was great - we could sit on the porch and have coffee in the morning, looking out over the ocean as the sun rose. As we are not big on resorts, Gran Caribe was perfect for us. No cheesy "entertainment", no one trying to sell you anything, not a large complex full of noisy people. What you do get, though, is outstanding service - the guys at the bar take great care of you all day long, the folks at the front desk are very attentive and helpful, as are the concierge and the guys at the hut down at the beach, and having housecleaning staff who would also do laundry - really it was probably the best service we've experienced. The beach is nice (yes, I've seen better but it was just fine), the pools are great (very clean), and we like that the north part of Ambergris isn't too crazy. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

Loved Belize, loved Grand Caribe, loved this condo!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Belize. We spent 9 days at this wonderful condo in late May with our sons, 17 and 21. It was a perfect vacation for our family to be together one last time before our younger son graduated and left for a military academy.

Jeff and Lezlie are super hosts and provided tons of information about the property and Ambergris Caye before we left. It was particularly helpful to get tips on arranging flights from Belize City. Travel went smoothly and the case of Beliken we had preordered was waiting and cold when we arrived!

The condo is very large and beautifully decorated and appointed. Everything is well-maintained, and the resort staff was quick to respond to any request. The kitchen has everything you need. I wish we'd done more cooking, in fact, and would make grocery shopping in San Pedro more of a priority next time. There are plenty of fruit stands, bakeries and grocery stores, and the trip into town is always fun.

The location of the condo, facing a sandy area with palm trees, is really perfect. It is the closest location to the water on the whole property. Hanging out on the patio and talking with the boys was one of the highlights of the trip for me. The pools are wonderful, and the pool bar is staffed with the absolute nicest guys you'll meet. Ask them to do card tricks! You can hang on the side of the pool, staring at the postcard-perfect trees and water for hours...it really is paradise.

At Jeff and Lezlie's suggestion we arranged 2 boat outings with Martin. Ask them for contact information - he and his first mates are a lot of fun. The first day we went snorkeling and the 2nd day we went fishing and snorkeling, and had a beach barbeque. Best ceviche I will probably ever have in my life!

One of the other highlights of the vacation for me was discovering the daily yoga classes at the resort next door, Ak' Bol. It's a 3 minute walk up the beach from Grand Caribe to take a class for $15 in the morning or late afternoon. Classes are held under a thatched roof on a dock with the breeze blowing and the water lapping underneath - so relaxing! In the mornings the guys would have breakfast at the good little restaurant right on the beach and wait for me to finish class.

I would come back with the family, or for a girl's week, for sure. I would bring more reading material next time. It really is a place to unwind and relax. Enjoy!

KAYAK/SNORKEL: The reef is a short (about 400 yards) kayak trip from our beautiful beach! Great snorkeling...see fish, coral, and even catch your own lobster and/or conch for lunch. Rent the kayaks from the concierge for a nominal fee.

FISHING: fantastic fishing...we love to catch snapper, barracuda, etc and have the resort bar cook it and serve it poolside or dockside...SOOO relaxing and delicious!

SNORKEL AND DIVE TRIPS: I have snorkeled/dove all over the Caribbean and Belize is the best! See all types of fish - rays, including spotted eagle rays; sharks (mostly nurse sharks), turtles, squid, tangs, parrot fish, octopus, even manatees in some areas!

RENT A GOLF CART - Yes, the roads are really bumpy...but that's half the fun! Take the cart south and town is only 2 miles away. Just across the bridge on the right is a FANTASTIC bakery. Don't miss stopping there to get your breakfast to take back to the condo.

EAT! - so many great places...Grand Caribe's bar & grill is great, but also try:

In town and on the beach: Estel's for breakfast (great Bloody Mary's), Wild Mangos, and Caliente are some of our favorites. Other favorites are Elvi's Kitchen, Carumbas, and My Secret Deli ('hole in the wall' but great value!). Within walking distance of Grand Caribe - Aji for dinner(great ambiance and just a short walk north along the beach), Ak Bol (great breakfast, lunch, dinner on the beach and a short walk south along the beach)

DRINK - Take advantage of the plastic cups provided in your condo and make your own favorite drink to take out to the pool, beach, or dock. The bar has great drinks, but as with all resorts, can get a bit expensive :)

JUST RELAX...hang out at one of the five pools or at the beach with your favorite beverage, walk along the dock to see the sting rays and fish that are always hanging around...no need for the snorkel! Or just sit on your private veranda overlooking the ocean.

MANY OTHER EXCURSIONS...ALL WHERE YOU ARE PICKED UP RIGHT AT OUR DOCK: tours include fishing, diving, snorkeling, catamaran trips, golf at a neighboring island, mainland tours for zip lining, Mayan ruins, cave tubing, cave tours, etc...
