We totally enjoyed staying at Shipwatch. The property is beautiful and the condo was well appointed with everything we needed including plenty of beach chairs, fishing gear and sand toys.
We had a terrific stay in a beautifully decorated and well stocked villa. Our family enjoyed the pool and beach very much. In fact, we did not want to leave!
It was our first time to Amelia Island. Kay has a beautiful home with lots of amenities. The view was terrific, pool great for swimming and the wide open beach great for the family.
We just completed 6 weeks at this lovely Amelia Island condo. Beautiful morning sunrises, fantastic walking and bike riding paths, wonderful restaurants, and a heated pool. Just perfect for this retired snowbird!

Perfect place to enjoy Amelia Island. The condo was perfect and included everything we needed for the beach. Very spacious, comfortable and great views. Kay is great, very responsive and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.
Our family loved staying in this villa! It was very family friendly. The room off of the living room was great for the kids to have their own space while the adults could relax in the living room or out on the terrace with the beautiful ocean view. Thank you Kay for making our family gathering special and being so accommodating!
This was a fabulous condo, and the resort is relaxing and beautiful. Will be going back! Great for kids and grandkids.

Outstanding property and ocean views !! Property was immaculate and extremely comfortable !!
The penthouse was just beautiful with all the amenities possible. Definitely a 5 Star property with a beautiful view of the ocean, pool and beach. Will definitely be back with the family for another stay. Nothing short of FABULOUS !!!
Lovely property, a wonderful stay. Would recommend for families. Nice beach view. Towels, kitchen and beach needs all met. Lots of stairs and elevator use to come and go, so access can be something to consider if that is a concern.
We had a wonderful visit. Love the beaches of Amelia Island. This property is located in The Plantation which offers lots of things to do while you are not on the beach (shopping, food, excursions). This owner had a closet full of everything you would need for a day at the beach which was wonderful. They also had a small room that had toys for our grandchild. Would definitely stay again.
This was our first visit to Amelia Island and we loved it. This rental is phenomenal. The layout works great for a family group of adults, young and old. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, and we only ate out once because it was a joy to fix and enjoy meals together at home. The balcony and large windows in the open living/dining room/kitchen area all have magnificent views of the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. The balcony off the master bedroom and all the bedroom windows have incredible views across the treetops, marshes, and Amelia River. We routinely watched sunrise from the living room balcony and sunset from the bedroom balcony, and all were stunningly beautiful. Communications with Kay, our host, were clear and included all the information we needed, when we needed it. I cannot recommend this property highly enough! I hope we will have occasion to return.
Spacious and beautifully decorated, we enjoyed the space itself as well as the thoughtful amenities like the bicycles, beach chairs, etc. We had no issues and enjoyed our stay.
Exterior was very dated, bad way. Condo was very comfortable. Plenty of space. Well stocked for essentials. Kay was extremely friendly with getting us set up. I would certainly share with the renters there are NO luggage racks to help carry bags etc to their respective condo. With that said, need to advise extra steps off the elevator, with luggage and groceries and NO luggage rack.
Pictures did not do the Condo justice. View of ocean from deck and front windows was great. Kitchen well stocked . Bedrooms were comfortable for all. Very nicely furnished. Owner great to work with. Heated pool was not crowded and nicely landscaped. Amelia Plantation had it all - beautiful scenery, good restaurants, fun places to visit for a 6 year old - Drummond Park, nature center activities, swimming at the pool and ocean and playing at the beach

We're so happy to hear you enjoyed our home and your stay!
It was our pleasure having you and hope you'll come again!
Overall we were very please but one thing you need to know is that there are steps from the elevator to the floor and there isn't outside storage for all your beach stuff.
we enjoyed the balcony very much but unfortunately there isn't an awning - it rained every day, so we weren't able to be out on it...another issue was the shower head in the hall bath- needs to be replaced. The location is perfect - its only a mile to the tip of the island where we found tons of shells!
The fourth bedroom had no air vent in the room so very warm to sleep in. I think you should tell people that. I would not have considered it because of that. If someone isn’t necessarily looking for a 4th bedroom would have been fine but we needed the fourth bedroom and it was very uncomfortable to seep in. I believe it is misleading and you should have that in your specs of the room. I wish people would leave tv instructions. All tv are not the same.
This condo is beautiful and spacious. We were wowed as soon as we opened the door. The kitchen is very well stocked with fancy items, and provided everything we needed. The living room had seating for everyone. The ocean view is great. We could see sunrise out on the balcony and sunset from off the master bedroom balcony. The master bedroom is impressively large.
The swimming pool is very close by and a very nice temperature. There are umbrellas and chairs at the pool. There are bathrooms down close to the pool that we didn't discover until our last day.
It is a bit of walk to the beach, with quite a few stairs involved. There is a closet in the condo that stores enough beach chairs for everyone, as well as umbrellas, tent, coolers, etc.
This was our first trip to Amelia Island. We recommend the Segway tour on site, Fort Clinch, the shrimp eco tour cruise, 1928 Cuban Bistro, and Fantastic Fudge.
The air conditioning went out on day 3 of our 5-day stay. The property owners were out of town but they and the property manager did everything possible to get it repaired quickly; however, availability of parts is definitely out of their control. Although this was an inconvenience for us (1st world problems), it was never unbearable inside the property because we kept the front windows and back door open, and had a fan pulling air through during the day. It was late February and in the 80's during the day, but was very comfortable at night.
That said, the property was VERY spacious and had every amenity we could imagine, and we even hosted a party for a limited number of our son's wedding party. It is well maintained and has the best views. The location is also within driving distance (20-30 minutes max) of so many different restaurants. My wife even got to check off a bucket list item when she got to visit house from the original Pippi Longstocking movie.
I highly recommend this property and would stay here again if we ever go back to Amelia Island.

Why they chose this property
We have loved Amelia for many years! I first came to Fernandina as a child to camp at Fort Clinch and visit relatives. We begin vacationing at Amelia as a young married couple and even named our second child Amelia because this beautiful island means so much to us.
What makes this property unique
The beach here is wonderful for collecting shells and sharks teeth. Amelia Island Plantation is well known for its live oak canopy and preservation of the natural setting. Amelia Island State Park adjoins the Plantation and provides a large undeveloped area for the beach walker to explore. We have regularly seen bald eagles, osprey, roseate spoonbills, wood storks, to name just a few of the bird species present in large numbers at the resort. We enjoy watching schools of dolphin feeding from our patio, living, and dining room areas. Walking and biking trails are abundant throughout the resort. There is an indian burial mound on the marsh side of the island on one of the walking trails. Amelia Island Plantation is truly a nature lover's destination. For those with small children, there is an amazing playground with a pirate ship fort hidden among the oaks. For older children and adults there is Drummond Point Park with playground, covered picnic & ping pong table, observation tower, pickle ball, bocce ball, basketball, trails out into the marsh, restrooms, and wifi.
