We stayed in this beautiful apartment for a week during the UTMB trail running event. It was a short walk to everything we needed - the finish line, race checkin, UTMB Expo, sports stores, restaurants, and buses (for the races that have a bus to the starting line).
The view of Mont Blanc from the balcony is spectacular. We had coffee and wine out there most days. The decor has a relaxing chalet feel with comfortable furniture and beds, and lots of wood, art and even cowbells. There is a dining table and a bar with seating around the sides. It's a perfect place to stay with one or two other couples. Everyone has a large room of their own and there is a nice communal area to gather for conversations and meals.
The kitchen and the rest of the apartment were very well equipped. We had plenty of dishes, glasses and pots, and we even could have made raclette or fondue! The owner had thoughtfully put champagne and beer in the fridge for us.
We had a washer, dryer and drying rack. Laundry soap was provided, which made things easier for us since we didn't have to buy a large package. We were grateful that linens and towels were included. There were many other items in the apartment that we didn't use but it was nice that the owner had thought so much about things that a guest might enjoy during their stay.
We opened windows at cooler times of the day to create a breeze since there is no air conditioning, which is common in Chamonix. We kept the skylight shades mostly closed during the sunny part of the day and found the apartment quite comfortable.
The stairs to the 2nd floor require some caution and wouldn't be appropriate for people with mobility issues or very young children. Our 4-year-old visitor had no trouble after a little practice.
We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return to this apartment when we come back to Chamonix some day!
